The wines were good. My friend fell in love with the first one, a white whose name apparently meant LOVE in the local dialect. Very on brand for her. ‍ We also tried their cheese breads - they had savoury and sweet options. I was team savoury while my friend was all about the sweet because balance, right? Overall, nice little stop to warm up our taste buds, but nothing that blew our minds. Just a casual "hey, we're in Valle" vibe before continuing our wine-fueled adventures.

We started in their cozy tasting room with a nice pour of Sauvignon Blanc. We then made our way through down to the beautiful cellar and private tasting room. This is a beautiful vineyard. We only had 2 hours here. I wish we had more time to enjoy walking around their grounds. We requested a Nebiolo and she was able to make it happen. I really like their grenache rosé and their Nebiolo blend.

It's a very romantic cabin, too bad the weather didn't help us as it was cloudy at night, but we enjoyed it regardless. We enjoyed the wines here as well as the food. The restaurant Surgencia is delicious. If you like pork the tamarind ribs are delicious, but honestly you won't go wrong with any of the dishes. Chef Eduardo is simply amazing and he takes care of the diners making sure everything is perfect for you. The staff are all that way as well, you can tell they care about the customers and take great pride in their work. We will be back!!!

The setting is beautiful; however, our group experience was extremely disappointing. We waited over two hours for a three-course meal, and several dishes arrived lukewarm and dry. Service throughout the experience was poor, and when we spoke with the manager, no effort was made to address or fix the issues. This was especially frustrating given it was a prepaid group reservation and a birthday celebration. While concerns were not raised further on-site to avoid disrupting the group, the experience accurately reflects what occurred. We hope this feedback is taken seriously and leads to meaningful improvements. Edit to add: As the tour operator, we ultimately issued a refund to our clients after the venue declined to do so, in order to uphold the level of service our guests expect.

I did not. The grounds are stunning. You're on an active working orchard with views in every direction, and dropped right in the middle of it is the most enormous oak tree I have ever seen. That tree, you guys. It's MASSIVE. Ancient. The whole property is built around it, and drinking wine in its shade was straight up surreal. There were dogs wandering around. Families on picnic blankets. A live band playing under the tree. People dancing on their own. It's magical. The wine was freaking delicious. The charcuterie was good. The service was good. Nothing stood out either way on the service, but with everything else going on, I genuinely didn't pay attention. This isn't a quiet, learn-about-your-tannins kind of tasting. It's a hangout, and it's the kind of afternoon you'll be talking about long after you go home. A must on any Valle trip. Pro tip: come hungry, come ready to hang out, and come ready to feel like you're in a fairy tale, because that tree. Just sayin'!

We bought 1 white, and 2 reds to bring back to CA with us. We can't wait to share this with our families! Unfortunately we went through the San Ysidro border crossing back to Southern CA and found out that the max limit is 1 liter of alcohol (about 1 to 2 standard bottles) ever 31 days. We bought bottles of wine from 2 other wineries as well. Fortunately, US Customs and Border Protection let us go with a warning and did not confiscate our wines!

Make sure to ring the bell on the outside to let the ladies know you're there. This is a boutique vineyard in that they only make a few varieties and sell only that they have enough of. For example they had the most delicious olive oil made on site but because they only had a few bottles made, it wasn't for sale. You can tell this is not a vineyard looking for profit but quality is a must. If their harvest was minimal and not enough, they won't put it out. Another women owned vineyard, the wine is a little hit or miss. The first time I came I loved the wine and bought a bottle, second time not so much. But the experience was so fun! Lots of story telling and laughs. Each tasting is with bread olive oil and their homemade something in this case it was the marmalade. Absolutely great when drinking as much as you do. I would still return because I just love the intimate atmosphere.

Tres Mujeres is one of our favorite boutique wineries in Valle de Guadalupe ("VdG"). The property…read moreis quite rustic (winery dog and chickens wander around) and sits on the southerly hillside of the valley. On this trip, Miriam poured for us inside their intimate cave and provided a wonderful and informative tasting experience. They only produced a total of 8 barrels this year and they're currently pouring one rosado/rosé (Grenache & Zinfandel) and two mezcla tintas/red blends (Cabernet Sauvignon & Grenache), all of which are excellent. All parts of production are done by hand, from picking, de-stemming, pressing, and even bottling. They do have a de-stemming machine for the large branches/pieces, but all individual grape stems are pulled off by hand. Really remarkable. We always come back to Tres Mujeres and pick up a couple of bottles to tide us over until our next trip to VdG. I highly recommend you put them on your list of wineries to visit. TIP: There are a couple other small wineries on the same road which are also worth visiting, so definitely check them out. It's easy to visit them all in one day.

The wines, all produced from the on-site winery, paired perfectly with both the charcuterie board and the tamale dish. The peaceful views of ducks in a small pond and a nearby pasture with sheep and horses. They have dogs too, which are all so friendly and, in my opinion, added to the experience as a dog lover. It's a serene experience that perfectly complements the quality of the food and wine. And the service, the service is like no other. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy the best of Valle de Guadalupe's culinary and wine scene. There were several maintenance issues, including a broken toilet paper holder and a broken shampoo/conditioner dispenser that wasn't replaced until the following day. The paint in the room didn't match in several areas, and overall it could use some upkeep. The pillows were very uncomfortable, and the property was extremely dusty, making it difficult to enjoy being outside, so we ended up staying indoors most of the time. We also booked a room advertised with a "valley view," but our view was mostly trees and a ditch, which was disappointing and not what we expected. On the positive side, the room itself was modern, clean, and nicely designed inside. With a few minor repairs and better maintenance, it could be an excellent place to stay. The hotel was also very quiet, which made for a peaceful atmosphere, although the room had great AC. Overall, I would rate Casa Frida 3 out of 5 stars. It has potential thanks to its friendly staff
