I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Vinland Reserve Winery! The surrounding vineyards and atmosphere are absolutely incredible, striking the perfect balance between sophisticated and welcoming. The property grounds are stunning, featuring a large outdoor, self-service area with a convenient walk-up ordering window, a modern tiered sitting area that offers a great view of the pond, and a spacious grassy lawn surrounding the stage. While we didn't try the main dinner menu this time around, both the Blueberry Pie and the Blueberry Sour Martinis were exceptional. Had a reservation so we were seated immediately in the patio. They had live music which made it an enjoyable night. Weather was good. Our server Jesus was really friendly and attentive. We ordered the chicken and waffles with the leek tortellini. Both dishes were delicious. Also we had the dessert sampler which included a chocolate cake which was sweet, the carrot cake and the cookie pie which was delicious! Getting there: Don't be alarmed when you start passing a bunch of apartments (you're on the scenic route to wine lol) Keep driving and Vinland Winery will appear like a hidden treasure at the end of the road. Parking is easy; there are plenty of spots. Food: The Smash Burger smashed my cravings. Garlic truffle fries were finger licking good. And those cheese curds...jeez a Midwestern happiness on a plate. Depending on the time of day, they've got brunch, lunch, or dinner menu options. I didn't try the alcohol (maybe next time!)...but they had slushie wines and cocktails that looked fun. Service/Ambiance: Staff was super friendly and patient with us first timers. We sat inside where it's bright, airy, and you get a peek at both the bar and the view outside. The patio has shade, plus there are cozy private rooms with fireplaces and TVs, perfect for groups. You can even wander out to the deck and grassy area to admire grapevines and the pond (brownie points: it's baby friendly, so my little one had a good time too)! Overall, this is a cool spot and hidden gem. Great for birthdays, date nights, or even a proposal if you're feeling lucky. The deck overlooking the water is lovely for photos too. Another excellent visit to Vinland! The facility is large and attractive. Great for groups. Make a reservation. The metal chairs are not the most comfortable. Sitting under the covered patio with a gentle breeze is nice! Vinland doesn't have a very large menu of cocktails. Tuesday is half priced martini night! The Melon Pear and Tunnel Vision cocktails were very refreshing and tasty. The fried pickle appetizer was nice. It had a thick and spicy batter. Little bit of a crunch that moderately stuck to the mildly tart dill pickle spear. The southwest sauce was a nice accent to the fried spear and add a bit of cool and spiciness. My wife's chicken salad was fresh. The chicken was tender and moist. She recommends it! The salad came with a light Caesar dressing.h t I generally choose wings when I'm at Vinland. You generally get 8 large wings for $17. At this price Vinland is not a destination for wings. They make a good and tasty option if there is t something else on the menu...in your price point that interests you. The wings I got were the Sweet Heat Teriyaki wings. They always have a nice fried crispy skin. The sauce was plentiful - almost soupy. There was a mild level of spiciness to the sauce. The sauce also had a very mild teriyaki taste. I have an unpopular opinion and I'm fine with that. This was ok, just ok. The ambiance here is nice. It's not luxurious or swank, but it is expansive, cozy, and very clean. I was here for a birthday party. The party I was with had 20 members, and 2 were late. The remaining 18 had to stand on the lobby area until such time we were certain they were coming. I didn't care to remain standing with 18 other people in the lobby area. The waitress we had was exceptional. She didn't provide her name, but her service was consistent, professional, and warm. I had the fried chicken sandwich. I found it to be dry and limited in flavor. It was merely a fried chicken breast on a bun, which also baffled me. Other photos show the fried chicken sandwich on what appeared to be a baguette. My fries were scattered around the plate with the sandwich and not in a tin cup as per other photos, and I had no pickle at all. I never complain, or I limit complaints at most establishments. I just take mental notes and proceed accordingly. This again was ok, there were a few forced errors, but it was ok. I know- unpopular. read more

This is my second time to Vinland, but the others in my party were here for the first time. We originally had reservations outside but they contacted me the day before to offer an inside reservation due to chilly weather forecast. It was definitely appreciated. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable without hovering. We each did a wine flight ($11 for 4) and two of us included a wine slushie (highly recommend). We attended Vinland for a birthday dinner. We did have a large party. We also had a reservation. We were seated at two different tables. We asked to move the tables together. The answer was no but our waitress did check with management to move us into a larger room meant for parties. At this point, every waitress that helped serve our party was displeased with us. No customer service. I even saw one of the waitress at the bar speaking with someone that appeared to be a manager pointing at us and staring at our table. The same waitress continued to act frustrated, short tempered, and annoyed with us all evening. The food was good. I had a decent meal. But the service was less than ideal. Everyone had an attitude. We frequently go here for brunch. I have gotten a good number of items from the menu and I always go back to the chicken and waffles or the Cesar salad with crispy chicken on it. They do something to their waffles that makes them really crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside and I haven't experienced a texture like that before, they are very good here. You really can't go wrong with any of the items on the menu! As for the drinks, I always default to getting vodka.m here. I am a Chardonnay or Cabernet Sauvignon kind of girl and I personally don't enjoy those wines here. Their rosé is good and I also enjoy getting the mimosas. Vinland's wine is not my favorite, but I guess I don't come here for the wine. Off the beaten path (literally - you'll find it tucked away behind an apartment complex) Vinland Winery has an inviting patio. The few times I've been seated on the patio there has been live music from local musicians. There is also plenty of seating inside if the weather is not great or if you want to reserve some space for a special event. The menu includes charcuterie boards that are perfect for sharing with a friend or two. There are also salads and handhelds like burgers and sandwiches. Glasses of wine are affordable ($5 to $9), and there seems to be something for almost everyone. They had a fruit wine on the menu during my most recent visit. They list their wines from sweet to dry on the menu, so if you're looking for something dry, look towards the bottom of the menu. There are also slushies, sangria, and beer available too. During my recent visit I tried the rose and the sauvignon blanc. The rose was good. I wasn't a fan of the sauv blanc. If you're hesitant on committing to a full glass of wine, there are wine flights where you get to choose four wines (2 oz each). read more

This place is gorgeous. The building is beautiful, and the inside is modern and not overdone. There's a cute small pond with geese or ducks (I wasn't sure which). And, the most important part, the food was fantastic. We came here for brunch, and we'll be back to try more! Nordic Chicken & Waffles - $18 - The chicken has a delicious brine, good crisp, and juicy throughout. It comes with hot honey, which is tasty and quite a kick to it. The waffles are not too dense but still crispy. It comes with maple cream cheese and candied cashews. Everything on this plate was fantastic. 5/5 stars. Huron Benedict - $22 - Tons of salmon in the patty, eggs were cooked perfectly, and the hollandaise was good. Bread seems homemade, and it was well made and crispy. My only recommendation is to give a better knife to cut the bread. 5/5 stars. Cinnamon Roll - $6 - Decent flavor, but I wish there was a little more cinnamon inside the roll. The bread was nice and crispy. 4/5 stars. Service was good. The food was delicious. They said you can taste two of the wines for free, but I don't drink, so I skipped that. If you had a few mocktail choices, that would have been nice. Highly, highly recommend this place. read more

This review covers two visits: Friday night and Saturday brunch. On Friday, we stopped by to pass some time. We ordered two drinks and two slices of cheesecake to go. Despite the restaurant being only half full at 7 PM, we waited a while to place our drink order. My drink was good but not what I ordered; I didn't mind, so I didn't mention it. My partner's drink was correct and enjoyable. Service was slow. We saw our waitress only once after ordering. She submitted our cheesecake order after we finished our drinks, but it took 10-15 minutes for one slice to arrive--at the wrong table. Another 10 minutes passed before we could flag her down to ask about the second slice, which also went to the wrong table. In total, we waited about 30 minutes for two slices and the bill. One slice was correct, but the other wasn't. Both were underwhelming, lacking flavor for their price. For Saturday brunch, we had reservations. The service was much better--our waitress was attentive, and drinks arrived promptly. I enjoyed the French Toast special. However, my girlfriend couldn't order anything because omelets are only available on Sundays, which felt strange. Our two companions ordered eggs Benedict, which arrived lukewarm, nearly cold. The drinks were solid, but my second old fashioned tasted entirely different from the first. The main issues here are inconsistency, order accuracy, and service. It's unclear if the staff is new, but training seems necessary. Would I return? Likely, as I'm curious about other menu options. Are there areas for improvement? Definitely. So, we've been here twice in late 2023, and I was absolutely blown away by the food quality. It's not that often that you come across top-shelf food at a winery in Indiana, but this is one of those places that really impressed us in every respect. Service on both visits has been excellent, even when we had a large group on our first visit. The ambiance couldn't be any better; there is a spacious indoor seating area, along with a huge outdoor dining area (weather permitting, of course). They also feature several local singers and musicians in the outdoor area throughout the summer. I was literally thinking about the food on the drive home from this place. We made reservations, since it was Wine Wednesday, with half off glasses is wine. I was glad we did because it was pretty crowded with it being too cold for outdoor seating. We were shown right to our table, in the main dining room. The decor is a little sterile or cold, but just fine really. No frills, and kind of modern. I got the smash burger. It was good, but nothing fantastic. The patties were not exactly smashed, and didn't quite fill up the bun. The grilled onions were stringy and were hard to bite through, making a mess on my chin! Oh well. It tasted excellent. The fries were crispy and I like the dipping sauce. Wine was good, and the service was excellent. We will go back! This place is a gem in north Fort Wayne! Been here twice now and both times had a great experience. I love the winery vibes with a tasting room, outdoor social areas, and nice waterfront seating but I also love that it has a true restaurant feel when you are inside. The menu has unique items which I like and the burgers here are to die for. A little pricy but worth it! I'm starting out with 4 stars as this was our first attempt at Vinland. We'll go back and I'll adjust up or down, based on the experience. We arrived at 8:30pm on a chilly, foggy, dark night. Needless to say, we got lost and I'm sure during a nicer weather day, we would have found it. Pretty much had the place to ourselves, with a keyboardist playing a few tunes. This place is a lot bigger both inside and outside from what I would expect. It's nicely arranged and I can see the potential to accommodate large or private groups. It does feel like they "mooshed" together a restaurant and winery in hopes of attracting a wider variety of customers. Our server was very nice and attentive. My wife and I started off withe a Merlot and Pinot Noir. The wine was even-par and would order it again. The won-tons came and were a goid start. I wasn't sure if the greens underneath was just a garnishment or meant to be eaten like a salad after the fact. We went with the smashburgers which were tasty. The side of fries and dipping sauce were a hit as well. One small issue is that my wife ordered the pretzel bun and I had the brioche. Apparently the kitchen mixed and matched the bottom buns, so I had the pretzel bun bottom and she had the brioche bun bottom. No biggie. The outside grounds look attractive and we'd like to go back to sample once this cruddy Fort Wayne winter weather goes away. I think the jury is still out for me until I can absorb and observe all this place has to offer....but I'll continue to support local and hope the ownership listens to their customers. read more

I've been here 3 or 4 times now and I do enjoy the wine. The outdoor patio is beautiful. The people working are nice for the most part. We did have a tasting room associate that couldn't have cared less about my friend and I, but when a group of older ladies with golf attire came in, she was SO happy to serve them. Odd, but I tipped her well anyway. Now the food, I genuinely hope they revamp it at some point. The food is so overpriced, small portions, and not good. I had a chicken Caesar salad. It was the size of a small side salad with chicken that had been sitting in a fridge for who knows how long. They give you a cheese crisp, but that too had been sitting in the fridge. Evicted from our table!! We decided to visit Vinland Winery to celebrate my husband's birthday. We reserved an outdoor table for that evening and planned to enjoy the live music, local wines, and the food. The hosts at the front greeted us and took us to our table and the server was friendly and attentive. We ordered drinks and appetizers and continued ordering while enjoying the music. Everything was perfect until management asked us to move tables. Let it be known this happened within 10 minutes of receiving our most recent drink order and our bill wasn't even presented to us! When we asked why, the manager said they needed to give our table to "another group" who made a reservation. After further inquiry, we were told there's a 2 hour time limit and apparently we exceeded the limit (this was never said upfront). At first we thought it was a joke. But both managers, Lindsey and Angie, put up a united front. We are still unsure why they didn't place that "other group" at the table they wanted us to move to as we were steadily ordering food and drink, not just consuming space. The management is lacking hospitality and I sincerely question their decision making processes and business practices. If a business is in it to make money, why are these two managers choosing to displace their patrons who were running up a tab? Here's what's even more bewildering. After paying our $160 bill, we walked out of the restaurant and not one single person was waiting in line for a table in the lobby, it was completely dead in there!! read more

Went to Vineland reserve winery tonight I was skeptical due to all the mixed reviews about the place. Arrived at 8 on Saturday night and it was packed. We hit the wine tasting room first, it's very small and it's $10 for 4 tastings. The wine was fantastic. The reds varied from subtle and fruity to bold and dry. The whites were refreshing and crisp with a clean swallow. When we settled on a wine we loved we ordered a carafe and walked out onto the enormous patio. It's three levels!! There's a gorgeous pond with tables close by, there are chairs around fire pits and then tables close to the building. Tables that say open seating are free for all and the ones that have reserved are for the reservations. I would suggest making reservations because open seating tables are rare. They had live music playing and lots of umbrellas adorned the tables. On the outside they had a walk up window because the tables that are open seating are self service only. Reserved tables have wait staff. We didn't eat but the food we saw looked very good. The staff we did encounter were friendly and the atmosphere seemed relaxed by everyone. We had a great time and highly recommend and we will be back for sure. read more
