Nice bakery! The citrus bun was something to write home about. Not too sweet. The lemon bar was right up my alley as well. The second day we went in for fresh sourdough round and a cut to order cinnamon swirl bread. Again not sweet like most places would be! You can't go wrong with anything here. We came in two days in a row. The young ladies that run this great establishment were sweet and attentive. Cute bakery. You can even watch them creating these amazing items if you stop the right time of the day. You've got to stop at this spot if you love an amazing baked treat. This location is NOT recommended for those who meticulously calorie count, are anti-good treats, or for those who typically share food with friends. You will NOT share your food with your friends. You have been warned. This place is absolutely the BEST bakery I've been to in the history of my baked goods adventures. It's the closest thing to my mother in law's baking (and that woman can BAKE) and I am just so here for it. Definitely my favorite bakery in town! I bring everyone I know to this place. Staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful with answering questions and giving recommendations. The place smells amazing and looks clean. Though the pastries are definitely their MVPs, don't miss out on the fresh bread behind the counter - they'll slice it for you too. Portions are generous (they'll sometimes throw in an extra or two for free within reason, which I appreciate with my entire heart as a broke college student) and the pastries themselves are huge, great value for the price. Oh my.......I may never get over my maple scone from Vinman's Bakery! I've been an avid Nick Zentner viewer for several years, so naturally a trip to Vinman's has been on my bucket list the entire time. Today, finally, after all of this time, my son and I made the trip from Olympia over the mountains to buy lunch at Vinman's! The focaccia we split was amazing. We should have bought two! We both picked out a couple of treats to bring home and split with the rest of the family. I picked a maple scone and a marion berry crumble. My son picked a cardamom biscuit and a croissant. All were amazing! As we shared with our server that this was our first time there and how long we'd been wanting to come there, she immediately picked out two more treats to give us as no additional charge! A lemon bar and a fudge brownie! Oh man! All of it was beyond amazing. I could rave about each one, but I literally will never recover from the maple scone! It makes 143 miles seem like nothing! What an exceptional bakery! They have phenomenal customer service, delicious and handmade breads, pastry's and treats. The staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and seem to LOVE their jobs. It is such a joy to go to Vinmans. We love the sour dough bread, date bran and walnut muffins, lemon bars, bee stings and our pup loves the dog treats. We have never had an items we didn't love from Vinmans. Do yourself a favor and go visit them, they are the heart of what a small town does. Vinman's uses the best flours in their pastries and breads. They are reasonable, yet high quality! I never get a gluten response from their products. Can't say enough about the great selection! We went and got some breakfast rolls at Vinman's. I got a delicious ham and cheese roll. My wife got a muffin. They provided my wife with a custom made coffee drink. They also had sticky buns, lemon bars, and numerous other goodies. Vinman's is apparently a well known Ellensburg place. This business was barefoot friendly. read more

Situated in the quaint town of Ellensburg near CWU is one of the most magical spots since time started. Given the amount of awesomeness here, it's possible they convinced the Keebler elves to run from their mediocre cookie ways to a true life of baked passion! Seriously this place is pretty unreal. A friend told me about the croissant cinnamon roll and I was sold. Walking in, it's a very simple store with a dozen baked options, a coffee bar and Land Jaeger (the best meat since time began!). We got a smattering including a couple croissant cinnamon rolls (the downtowner I think), a blueberry orange roll, a lemon bar (based on another patrons recommendation) and a raspberry croissant. The owner was there and told us he always judges a bakery by how well they make a raspberry croissant- well played sir! That pastry was one of the most memorable I've ever had. Buttery, flakey, tart and sweet and dancing in my mouth like a flavor rainbow after a rainstorm! It was magic. The blueberry orange roll and downtowner were a close second and the lemon bar was a close third. The separation was minuscule, like trying to decide if you like presents on Christmas or your birthday- all are excellent! Prices were $3-4 per item and totally worth it for the combination of flavor and creativity. Papa loves carbs and I hadn't seen the croissant cinnamon roll previously, but can assure you it won't be forgotten! Well worth trying if you're in the area or just driving through! read more

UHMAAAZING! Hands down. The. Best. I feel overwhelmingly spoiled to have found this place, here in Eburg. I am such a sucker for a local bakery, that also serves coffee/ espresso and I can't believe it's taken me so long to find Vinman's!!! As soon as you walk in you're wrapped up in smells of savory goodness. I was blown away with the quality and freshness of the baked goods. I ordered two sweet, which included the downtowner cinnamon roll (which is da bomb dot com) and the orange marmalade popover (similar to a croissant). I also ordered two savory items, Swiss cheese and sesame croissant and a prosciutto and cheese turnover. Everyone of these baked goods were flaky, buttery, and handmade with a lot of freakin love. The best baker I have ever been too every time I go on there the staff is so sweet I've seen the owner a few times when I've been in there and he is always so nice and has a smile on his face today I went in with my 2 year old daughter she was super excited to go and they even let her pick out something for herself she was so excited about it ate it all when we got home. Vinman's is the best bakery in town, well worth the scout-out! The European style pastries are always fresh, unique, and delicious. Try the Kuin Amans! The Downtowners are a very tasty cinnamon roll, but without the Cinnabon type frosting (which, let's be honest, is just too much sweetness). I also love their croissant based pastries. They also have a wide variety of breads each day, some artisan pepperoni/sausage meats, and some dips/spreads. I run a very busy local Airbnb apartment and I purpose to make my guests' stay awesome. I love this bakery so, so much. I recently discovered this place while I was a camp counselor at Ellensburg for a week. During that week, I think I visited Vinman's at least five times :P I've tried a couple of the savory pastries and they were all delicious. I think my favorite savory pastry was some kind of crossant with bits of Prosciutto and some kind of cheese (sorry I can't remember the name off the top of my head!). It was so flakey, buttery, and just deliciousss. OH, and my favorite sweet pastry has to be the coconut macaroons. You MUST try those! The only reason I'm not giving it a five star rating is because they last time I went, the service was pretty bad. The lady working the front (I think she owns the place? not sure) was really rude and curt when I asked if she could possibly warm up a savory pastry for me :( Other than that, I will definitely be back next year! read more

I haven't sampled a large variety of their goodies, but I tend to judge a bakery by the quality of its pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant). I must say that Vinman's pain-o is quite tasty and pretty close to authentic Parisian patisseries in taste and texture. I give them an extra kudos especially since this ambitious level was achieved by a small town bakery. If they can make a delicate French pastry well, I have no doubt that the rest of their goods are high-quality. Be sure to get there early in the morning as this is a popular place on weekends and their selection is limited after the morning rush. i went at 10;am saturday 8-15-13. It didn't reflect the pictures (by a long shot) nor did it smell like the way I expect a bakery to smell. No tantalizing aromas of freshly baked breads, cakes, nor did it smell fruity or sweet as in sweet frostings, fresh fruit topping, sweet cakes, no. No for sure that was the first thing I noticed. Absolutely no mouthwatering aroma whatsoever! So- unfortunately this experience was anti-climactic from here on. There was an unfinished-3 layer stacked wedding cake in one display case-prepped for a rolled fondant I presume. When I showed interest, the man (wearing a Baker shirt) offered absolutely no information- ie; as a paying customer I would have liked to know what the flavors were, fillings etc... no little stand-up tag describing the stage, work yet to be done, ultimate design goal and destination- nothing! He simply agreed that it was a cake and quickly passed on leaving my curiousity and jaw floundering on the floor... No bakers charm, no charisma, just very cold... With latte in hand, {April- who is new here to Ellensburg also, makes a delicious and well priced latte- ( plus conversation, looks and charisma) owns & operates Bottoms Up Espresso in the same parking lot as Vinmans- but that a seperate rewiew} i decided to reserve judgement for really important stuff- the food!!! There was a nice tray set-up on the counter with 1/2 loaf wheat/rye french bread- sliced into generous portions which i gladly sampled. It was fresh, had a lovely moisture content and texture and tasted light and yummy. The bread had a perfect balance of rye and wheat with no overbearing after taste.Sure to be something served from my kitchen in future- perhaps Italian night. I thought the price fair ($4.50 per loaf) for such a lovely bread. Sadly the item for which I came left me feeling wronged and disappointed. The Danish. My hubby worked so hard I wanted to delight him with a hot coffee and succulent custard/strawberry Danish. Wow- a pre-packed one would have made him more happy even with all the preservatives. In pastry baking- You either got it... or you don't. I have not the heart or desire to describe this monster for which I paid $4.25 plus tax. I really wanted to love Vinman's, especially after all the glowing reviews. I was looking for something to serve as an appetizer for a party I was hosting. I would have liked a nice loaf of artisan bread...but alas, they were out of most of their baked goods. I ended up with crostini (think flat croutons) and a container of olive tapenade (it was very good but I wanted hummus, which they were out of). I topped off my trip with a nanaimo bar. I expected it to be excellent but I was left disappointed when I bit into what can only be described as a waxy, sugary sweet, not fresh bar. I will definitely skip it next time I'm in Ellensburg. read more

I love the bread and pastries here, but the coffee could be a lot better. I went a few weeks ago to get a pastry and a latte on my way to class, the latte was so hot that it burned my fingers through the cup. Not only was it was hot, the milk was bitter, curdling and scalded. I thought that it was a one time thing but was I wrong. Today I went to do the same thing, getting a pastry and coffee and the coffee was too hot to drink for 30 minutes. I worked as a barista for a year and I understand that coffee is hard to make, but its just ruins what would be a great experience for me. read more
