We had a great dinner here over the weekend. Elizabeth H was our server and she was so nice and gave great suggestions. We enjoyed the basket of fries either cheese and bacon - the homemade ranch was delicious. The kids enjoyed pizza and the moms enjoyed Caesar salads with steak and chicken - so good!! This was my first time at Vinny's. Its location is right on the main road and has plenty of parking. I went during lunch hour and it was pretty busy. The initial walk in I was met at the door and the place was appealing and someone seated me right away. The ambiance was very casual with music and chatter of other guests. Once seated it took about 3 minutes to get a menu and get asked for a drink. My server was okay. She seemed a bit distracted at times but was attentive when she made her way back to me. I had the Philly cheesesteak sub with onion rings. The food was tasty but wasn't something I have to get again. The onion rings were cooked perfectly. The sub was a good cheesesteak with a good amount of cheese worked into the ribeye. The meat was nice and tender and had a good taste. All in all it was a good visit. My wife and I stopped in for a late dinner. It was 930 pm and they close at 1030 pm. We ordered a greek salad and a Works large pizza. The greek salad was crisp and good. We stopped in at Vinny's to give it a try for lunch on Friday. From the website, it looks like Vinny's has 13+ locations in Virginia and North Carolina. It looks like maybe it's a franchise, but I'm not sure. Definitely not a Mom and Pop 'local' place. It's pretty easy to find, it's in a brand new stand-alone building, and seemed to have plenty of parking. The staff was welcoming and we were seated almost immediately, though the place was busy and close to full. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Our orders were gathered and our drinks were refilled pretty quickly. We started with the handmade mozzarella sticks. They were very crispy on the outside and melty on the inside and we mostly liked the taste. It felt like the cheese sticks could have used a light sprinkle of salt before being breaded (or maybe added into the breading itself.. not sure which would taste better), but we got around it by sprinkling a little salt on our plate and mushing the gooey cheese into the salt before dipping into marinara and/or ranch. My friend ordered the lunch baked spaghetti. The spaghetti was sizeable, even for a lunch portion, and the sauce had a unique flavor to me, almost like a BBQ or Manwich flavor, with lots of meat, and a side order of garlic toast. I was surprised that we weren't asked if we wanted meat sauce or marinara sauce and that it didn't come with a salad. Take note if you're like me and like spaghetti with only marinara. Also, we would have liked a bit more butter on the toast, but it was crisp and yummy. I ordered the chicken parm sub, which came with chips, but we upgraded to onion rings for $2. The rings were crispy and flavorful, but the onions were cut thin, so they cooked down a lot leaving a lot of batter and a little onion. If these are hand made, it might be nice to experiment with wider, thicker cut onions. The chicken parm sub came on a large, toasty roll that did a great job containing the chicken, sauce, and cheese. I would have liked a half size sub as a lunch portion, as they never reheat well. If you order it for lunch, maybe move all the chicken to one half of the roll. The chicken appeared to be pounded thin and fried. It had an okay flavor, but a little dry... not the best, not the worst. IMHO, if you're in the area, there are a lot of Italian options, but if you give it a try, let us know what you think! We will probably go at least one more time to try the pizza. Looking forward to reading your review. read more

This was recommend to us and we stopped by to see what the hype was all about. We decided to sit at the bar to witness their coolest restaurant feature, beer that pours from the bottom of the glass. We stopped by because we have not been here before and ordered a 12 inch lunch small works pizza without onions. Emma took our order right away and was very friendly. The restaurant also has alcohol on tap. Nice place for families too. We enjoyed our pizza with black olives, mushrooms, pepperoni, ground chuck, and green peppers. Comes out hot and cooked perfectly. The bread that the pizza was on was tasty too. Looked like it was in a fire wood baked oven. We enjoyed the meal and plan to go back and maybe get one of their paninis. Went there on a Friday night at 7:40. We were seated right by the door. That should've been my first tip off that they were ready to push us out. We were constantly bombarded by the server who did not let 5 minutes go by before she would come back to the table to ask us if we wanted anything else, if we were ok, if we wanted more water, etc. The answer was continuously - no. Then she has the audacity to ask if I want a box when I haven't even eaten 1/3 of my meal. She then tried to take my meal to dispose of it. The constant badgering continued to the point where I just said I would like a box to get her off my back. She then brought us the check along with the box. You would think we could then sit and talk without interruption, but no. Another sever asked us to leave because our server had to get off work. It was 8:15. The restaurant closed at 10:30. The bread was nice when it first came out. Only complaint is that it appears they just brushed on the garlic instead of actually baking with it on it so the little flavor is temporary and not throughout the whole piece. (Maybe offer a rosemary and garlic dipping oil.) Pizza had allot of cheese on it. Not an over powering sauce. It complimented the pizza as a whole. Crust is chewy and bottom wasn't burnt. The baked spaghetti wasn't bad. The meat sauce tasted like it consisted of cooked real ground (really really ground) beef mixed with tomato sauce (can see the actual tomato pieces and finely cut onions in it) not heavy handed with the seasonings but allot of acidity to the sauce which made it a-bit over powering. Noodles cooked perfectly but kinda plain like no salt was added when being prepared. Good amount of mozzarella on-top. Wasn't over cooked or burnt. (Maybe cook the noodles in some salt and put some of the water after the noodles are done into the sauce to hopefully get some of the acidity down.) The stand out of it all is the pizza. I would suggest anyone to come give it a try. Waitress was nice and polite, the gentleman that sat me was also courteous. Monday you get $3.00 off a large pizza so if you want to try but save some money try coming on that day. Try get busy fast. So try and come early!!! read more

My son and ate at Vinny's last night ( Friday) we ordered the Bruschetta, Manicotti, and Veal Marsala. It was horrible! When the Bruschetta came out, the bread wasn't toasted at all. It was described as 'Al forno' so I expected melted mozzarella on top, but what we got looked like melted Colby Jack ( orange and white) . I took one bite and found the bread was luke warm and soggy! I sent it back immediately and I have never done that in my life! When the entrees came out, my son's Veal Marsala looked like thin beef broth with mushrooms poured over pasta noodles. He said it tasted very bland and the veal was stringy. My manicotti looked good, but when I bit into it, the cheese inside was very paste-like and tasteless. We just paid and left. This was our 2nd time going to this location. This first time was a wonderful experience, great service and amazing Beyond Burger. Today was the exact opposite... Our server first brought a cup of water with a brown substance floating in it. I ordered the Beyond Burger again and it was barely cooked. It felt like mush when I tasted it. I nicely asked the server if they could cook it a bit longer. She took it back and here comes the owner/manager/cook, IDK who he was because he didn't introduce himself. He spoke to me in a loud voice, explaining to me like I'm a child, that it wasn't meat and it was supposed to be that way. I replied that I have eaten several meatless burgers and even a few nights before at his establishment that were cooked perfectly. I asked to have that same patty just cooked more... he said he would make another but then goes back into talking down to me again that it's not meat. She didn't figure out we were her table until about fifteen minutes. She forgot about getting our drinks for another hot minute. I can only guess she forgot about putting in our order bc the app came out 1/2 after we ordered the pizza 45 minutes. It was 2 in the afternoon and not busy. The food was good but lacked a lot of flavor. The owner sat at the bar and watched soccer and seemed oblivious or even cared about his guests. His son who was on the floor seating did finally see how annoyed we were and fetched the pizza. While we waited two tables came in sat and ate before we even got our food, but they had a different server. I was really impressed! The food was delicious. I had chicken cannalloni and my husband had blackened chicken primavera Both were awesome! But the best thing about this restaurant is Bobby the bartender. He is extremely knowledgeable about wines. Be sure to ask if there is anything off-menu. He is also a fabulous mixologist.
