We have ordered from Vinny's 3 times. Overall, we have been satisfied with the quality and prices of the food. The staff is friendly and the restaurant appears to be clean. Today we ordered The Italian Stromboli, Cheesesteak Quesadilla and Philly Cheesesteak. The Philly Cheesesteak would have been better if it had more cheese. Vinnie's pizza encapsulates everything I would want if I ever start a restaurant. Tucked right off the road outside of town, it is a true diamond in the rough. For sports fans, it is sprinkled with Philadelphia memorabilia which even a rival fan can admire. The owner, who I presume was taking orders, provides a homely atmosphere and offers great deals throughout the week. How can you turn down an $8 footlong chicken cheesesteak with a side and drink? Especially when said footlong was fresh and flavorful. You can even add whatever toppings so I rolled with fried onions and hot sauce (on the side). This delightful combo was exactly what I was looking for. I also bought the 2 for $5 slice deal. This deal is straightforward. Two big slices of pizza and a drink for $5. This was great since my friend and I both wanted to try the pizza. Unfortunately, I did not photograph the pizza but I gave it an 8.3/10. It was very good all around but just needed a tad more sauce. I have been to a wide variety of restaurants. This might be one of my favorites all time. It is not flashy nor is it a large sit down place. That is not a bad thing. The atmosphere around it screams that it is a place that welcomes all. Its harder and harder to fine places where you feel like family when you walk in. The question after dining at any new to you establishment and eating one of its dishes is: would you have that again? On the pizza it is a yes. On the pasta it's a no. So Vinny's gets a mixed review from us. I had a large New York style pizza with extra cheese and sauce and with jalapeños and... pineapple. To some the sweet-tart fruit on pie is sacrilegious but I've always been on the pineapple belongs on pizza side. Back to Vinny's version I have to say it was pretty good. I enjoyed the dough base, the red sauce, cheese and my jalapeño/pineapple configuration. Tasty. The spaghetti and meatballs was good on the meat but the pasta was overdone. The entree came with a fresh salad (good) and garlic bread (meh). In sum--this is a good pizza joint to try. Would I have that again?: pizza yes! read more

I can't eat at a place where the cook drops utensils on the floor, picks them up and places them on the counter. NOPE! I did have a cheese steak that day and it was dry, over seasoned, and the roll seemed old. Also, I think it is illegal to eat on the line as you make food. This was some really big fat guy. When it comes to getting NY style pizza outside of NY city, the choices are slim to none depending on location, especially the further away you get. In Delaware, there are a few spots that are pretty good, but this one is probably as close as you'll get to authentic taste outside of the City. Vinnie's isn't much to look at, whether you're inside or outside but it does have that pizza parlor feel and the items available, again, come as close to the mark you can get outside the City. Thin crust, well done, tasty sauce but not too much of it, gooey cheese of a high quality (which you can tell by the pull and lack of burn marks that are usually so prevalent on pizzas of the fast-food conveyor belt variety) plus a goodly percentage of toppings (plenty to choose from) to square inch, with a firm, crispy bite- all of it oh-so-good! Pizza isn't the only thing they offer; like most pizza parlors you can get meatball heroes, calzones, stromboli and a particular favorite of mine, garlic knots! They also offer deli style subs hot or cold (which I've never had so I cannot speak to how good they are) if that's your thing. There's a good number of salads on offer as well as appetizers, but I've not had either of those so I cannot attest to how good they are. Given how good everything was that I HAVE had, I'd say it is a safe bet you won't be disappointed. Drinks are of the canned and bottled variety, no alcohol that I can recall. This little pizza parlor is off the beaten path a bit, a little over a dozen miles from the closest beaches- but it is well worth the trip. We end up getting some pizza every time we visit Millsboro, which is where you'll find Vinnie's. I'm tellin' ya, you won't be sorry! Fuhgeddaboutit! read more

Pizza is no where near as good since change in ownership. This was by far the closest pizza to what I grew up with in NY/NJ and now it's the same old soggy/salty stuff common around here. Based on the high reviews we read upon moving to the area, we expected a better experience. This is not a place to sit and enjoy a meal - there's only a few cheap tables inside and no ambience. The only drinks are sodas in bottles or cans from a cooler. The food was mediocre at best. This was our go-to for pizza since we moved from NY in 2021. Tonight, we ordered a delivery and got a call back that they were "out of thick crust" pizza. We placed the order online well over an hour in advance. We didn't understand how a pizza restaurant can be out of dough. We understand cooking methods vary, but no "thick crust"? Anyhow, they charged our VISA beforehand, so we've been debited for the debacle this turned out to be. A shame because the pizza got better under the new ownership--and the services with credit card payment option and delivery--but this incident creeped us out. We're dropping this place. What a shame. Was shopping in the area and saw the good reviews and recommendations from my neighbors, decided to give them a try today. Ordered their Thursday special of 2 ex-large pizza pies with a 2 liter of soda for $19.00. The pizza was good, good crust and sauce, the best pizza so in Delaware. I didn't add any topping to make sure I get the full flavor of their basic pie and I wasn't disappointed. The place is small but they do have a few tables you can sit there and eat.
