Vacationing with my family this past week lead us to three separate Grotto's Pizza locations from Ocean City, MD, to the location in Millsboro, DE, which was, by far, the BEST Grotto's around! Being in the off-season climate for family-friendly atmosphere as well as excellent service and satisfaction, this location was the best of the bunch in my opinion! Our wonderful waitress was not only able to hold her own with my party of four, but was also attending to a slew of other customers that were stationed on the other side of the restaurant while we were there. She managed to not only provide speedy service to us while we were there, including refills on drinks, but also managed to get our food to us in a timely manner. Truly an impressionable young woman and, to her credit, hard working, which was very much appreciated by my party of hungry kids and myself. I look forward to returning to this location in the near future when I venture out to the DE/MD area again! read more

A chain sports bar but it hit the spot for a late night dinner on the route I was headed. I was welcomed by a hostess and pointed to the bar when I took a seat at a hightop against the wall with a power outlet nearby. A bit later, I ordered a plate of boneless chicken wings, Too many in fact and I left a few behind. They were served hot from the fryer and with an appropriate amount of sauce. Not soggy and with good flavor. Plenty of sports on the televisions if that's something that interests you. Plenty of macro beers on draft and in bottles if that's something that interests you. On our way home from vacation and decided to stop for pizza. We were seated at a table in the bar area and a nice young man came and took our orders. We ordered the beach fries and a large pizza. The fries with the cheese to dip....yum!! The pizza came out next and was so good. We got 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 mushroom & sweet pepper. The crust is crunchy and on the thinner side which I really like. The toppings were great. We were checked on a few times and had our waters filled. Decided to stop somewhere different on my drive home and am happy I chose pizza! I decided on the Baker's Choice, regular size and it came out hot and delicious! My fries were regular fries but they came out hot and cooked just right! I enjoyed the cheese sauce on the side, as well! Lacey, my server, was awesome - friendly, attentive and helpful. Don't know what the hype is about this place. It's terrible. They put way too much sugar in their pizza sauce making it just horrible. Staff is not very attentive. They have plenty of time to stand around and gossip, how about grabbing a cloth and clean some tables? Sounds like poor management to me. Get rid of the kids and get real adults in there that want to work. Bought pizza, wings and fries. Pizza was terrible as stated above. Sauce is disgusting. Wings were the best part of the whole experience. Fries were undercooked. Haven't stepped foot in this place again and never will. So many choices and better places out there. read more

For a pizza chain, the food is actually quite delicious here with good variety of options and the staff was absolutely friendly and alert.

We don't want chicken legs for wings we want wings Js. Always get a med pizza bc their large gets saugy. Have ordered take out from this place many times but never ate inside. Last night was our first time eating in and it wasn't crowded. We sat right away abd our waitress was friendly. We split the meatball sub which was AMAZING! We also ordered the Mama Grotto pizza that tastes like home! There are very few choices for late night dining in Millsboro. Unfortunately, after 10 pm the only choice is Grotto Pizza. We often work late and this is the only choice. There are a few things on the menu that are passable. Being transplants from Philadelphia we are snobby about pizza. Grotto's pizza is mediocre at best. Frankly, I do not understand Delaware's love for "The Swirl" We do order the same thing every time we visit. The chopped Antipasta Salad is very good along with the Verdi Boli. The real issue is that the location in Millsboro has horrible bartenders. The service at the bar is abysmal at best. If they do not know you it's even one step below abysmal. On this particular evening we were approached by one of two bartenders on duty. She asked us " would we like anything to drink? Seriously? That is why we are sitting at the bar! It blows me away whenever a bartender asks this. You either have to blame bartender or poor training. We ordered two draft beers and two waters. We then proceeded to watch the bartender pour ONE beer, put the ONE beer in front of my wife, walk back to the tap pour the other beer and place it in front of me. No water, no bevnap. About five minutes after the beers were delivered the second bartender approached us and asked if we would like to see a menu? We told her that we would love to see a menu! Not surprisingly, that is exactly what she gave us ONE menu. We also asked her for the water that we ordered from the first bartender. She brought ONE glass of water. Are you beginning to see a trend here? Anyway, the second bartender took our food order. We ordered the Chopped Antipasto Salad and The Verde Boli. We sat there for twenty minutes and watched everyone who came in after us get thier food. Empty beers and no food! We flagged down the bartender and asked her about our food she said " it would be out shortly". The Verde Boli appeared shortly. GREAT! however, no Chopped Antipasto Salad, No silverware, no napkins, no condiments. We asked about the salad, we asked for plates silverware, pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese. This seemed to cause all kinds of confusion. One bartender brought pepper spread, the other brought the pepper flakes, cheese, silverware, and finally plates. YAY!!! The salad was very good as was the Boli. The one star is for the food. For the grand finale we were overcharged for the beers that we ordered. They were on special and boldly advertised on a poster behind the bar. If we EVER go back we will sit at a table. read more

Food was terrible. I got a wedge salad with grilled chicken. I was given the wrong salad and then was told that's what I ordered. Although I am not typically a chain fan, this grottos location is killing it. Food is better than a usual grottos, service is great, and we loved watching the World Series while enjoying our drinks at the bar. Have been there 3 times and for a grottos- this one is deserving of 5 stars. read more

Took family out to eat and usually we have a good time. Today on the other hand was a completely different story. after we ordered drinks and they got messed up, we ordered our food. An appetizer that is supposed to come out before dinner took at least 45 minutes to come out and it came at the same time my husband's food did which should have taken longer than everyone else's. At this point I'm already frustrated as my kids are starting to get restless because they are hunger. In total it took us an 1 1/2 to get all the food. By this point we just got boxes and left.
