Small bites : wine pick up

It's always such a great experience when we frequent vino & vinyl. The food is fantastic, the owners and staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The live DJ chooses the best music which creates the perfect vibe. The prices are fair for entrees , appetizers and drinks . My husband and are part of the wine club which offers four bottles a month w/ an event to sample wines & food. We have always enjoyed ourselves with every visit. I definitely recommend this restaurant whether you're looking for a quick bite , drinks or a full out dinner date.

This is a great spot to have dinner and spend an evening in Sugarland. Food is consistently good. Service is on point. The ambiance with outdoor seating and DJ spinning records is amazing.

Visited Vino & Vinyl in Sugarland on a Friday night with my relatives! This was my first time visiting and immediately I was a fan because there was a DJ playing vinyl. Towards closing, the DJ played a Houston mix and I was sold! We had wine and appetizers. I had a Sauvignon Blanc and truffle fries. Both were delicious! I'm usually not on this side of town often but I'd definitely come back to this location especially if that same DJ is there.

It's Houston Restaurant Weeks and we decided to give V&V a try because their menu looked incredible! We made reservations ahead of time and were seated right away. We had an excellent waiter who was helpful and knowledgeable. I ordered a S Africa flight of wine. I enjoyed all four tastes that included two red and two white. I ordered from the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu. I had the whipped feta to start, lamb chops got my entree, and chocolate cheesecake for dessert. We also ordered the bread board. We enjoyed the music being played by the DJ. It was a solid mix of 80s and 90s. My husband ordered the chicken empanadas for his appetizer. They were delicious. Unfortunately, he had to send them back twice because they were cold on the inside. The poor waiter was apologetic and said he felt terrible about that because they are one of his favorite things on the menu. My husband ordered a pork chop and it was overcooked. His dessert was delicious. He ordered the bananas Foster's bread pudding. Yum! Overall, the food and wine was pretty good. We would definitely go back and try other things in the future.

What a cute spot! Great wines and craft beer list, tasty food, awesome staff, and a pretty good happy hour. Let's start with the beverages since this place has vino in the name. The wines and beers are from smaller craft producers. I recognize a handful of them and will happily drink something from them any day. The HH wines are a fantastic deal and they're not stingy with the pours here. I was unfortunately the driver on this visit, but I'll make sure to get a DD next time! Foodwise, we got a smorgasbord of food for 4 not very hungry people to nosh. - HH Baja shrimp tacos - really good! Would totally get this again - HH brussel sprouts - good way to get your veggies in. I would prefer them a little crispier but that's a personal preference - Octopus skillet - perfectly cooked octopus, tender but not mushy. The lemon butter sauce is divine and the veggies a nice contrast to the octopus. Loved this one! - Lamb chops - perfectly cooked tender lamb chops, no complaints here but I'd be interested in trying some other things on the menu before coming back to this one - BBQ Brisket flatbread - really tasty on its own but didn't really go with the theme of everything else we ordered. I liked the subtle kick from the jalapeños. My one nit is that I wish they went lighter on the bbq sauce. Overall, a great experience and I can't wait to come back with a DD.

Mahi mahi Rockefeller and pecorino crusted chicken

We loved this spot! The atmosphere is hip, with a live dj and great food. I had the mahi mahi Rockefeller with broccolini and Gouda mashed potatoes. Awesome! My friend had pecorino crusted chicken with green beans and new potatoes. Also very good. We would definitely return.

This place is a vibe! Atmosphere is romantic. Hubby and I stopped by for an after dinner drink and to enjoy the music on Friday night. I loved the old school jams on the vinyl player. The weather was nice so we sat on the patio, sipped on some Riesling and enjoyed the music. They have a wide variety of wines and a food menu as well. Next time I'll come and try the food.

Been here before for some drinks and good music, but this time we got food. Wow, so underrated. I never knew they had such good food. Definitely recommend them for drinks, music and FOOD too.

I can't leave enough stars to express how much I love this place! My 10 year old daughter and I come here at least twice a month, it is our favorite restaurant in Sugar Land, and actually one of my favorite restaurants period! The food is very good, the staff feels like family, and the DJ is awesome every night!

    Chicken Scampi

Service was excellent (Jenny). The cheeseburger was large & tasty. Chicken Scampi was over cooked but the lemon sauce over the artichokes was delicious. Risotto slightly under done. Very disappointed in the non-alcoholic Newblood wine. Advertised as a Shiraz but actually a dealcholized red blend and grape juice. Way more sweet than a Shiraz. They did not charge us for the bottle after we expressed our disappointment- so excellent service. Will try again after Dry January.

Went with a friend to celebrate her birthday and it was a great experience and a beautiful day to sit outside. The music was great and not too loud. We got 4 flights of wine each which was great to try out with the different foods we got. We decided to try the pork belly, surf & turf mussels, and octopus skillet. The pork belly was such a beautiful texture not too soft and enough firmness and it was delicious. The mussels were great and the octopus skillet was so good! Definitely recommend.

Amazing food. The first time we went while visiting Sugar Land a couple months ago, they had just removed Mahi from the special. As it is my wife's absolute favorite fish, she took a chance and asked if they would make it anyway. They did! And it was amazing. So nice, and they could have easily declined. We just went back for another work trip this week and it is back on the main menu. Again, amazing. I also had the pork belly starter which was also phenomenal. Again, staff were super friendly. Can't gone wrong here. Great food, great team, great environment.

    Banana's Foster Bread Pudding
    Shernell H.

This review is only based off of the ambience, our waiter, and the oh so amazing bread pudding. We came here to disconnect from this heavy thing called life. In doing so, we literally stumbled upon Vino &Vinyl. Every worker was warm and genuinely welcoming and caring. Then the interior gave cozy/ place to catch up and feel at home. I had the banana foster bread pudding and boy was that made with PERFECTION. I could have easily ate two. If ever one was down and wanted to be in good company with some bomb bread pudding, THIS is the place to be!

Do you also offer tea and soft drinks?

Yes, we have unsweetened iced tea, coffee, Mexican coke/fanta/sprite and Coke Zero.

    Is this restaurant kid friendly?

It depends on the kid. It's kind of dark inside so that nay not be great for kids. It is a super chill spot that obviously promotes wine, so wine glasses are all over the tables and the restaurant is small. Not a place for rambunctious kids who need… Read more

    Do they only serve wine?

No, we have a great craft beer list as well! The hidden gem is our chef and small culinary team. Awesome food!

First, we got there pretty early for our reservation. We sat almost immediately upon check in. Our waiter was in training but did a really good job. Ordered a whiskey sour. Was seated at the bar so I got to watch it be made. The bartender- man that guy never stopped. He was organized and just did his thing. So many pretty drinks were made while I was there watching. The pink one, whatever it was, was really pretty! On to the food. We got two apps, two meals, and two desserts. Husband ordered the Brussels, Steak Frites, and the Devil's Affogato. I got the Bacon covered Dates, the Pizza, and the Sticky Toffee Cake. The Brussels were good - husband liked them more than me. They were good. Had cashews in them. Little spicy. The bacon covered dates. Think this was my favorite bite. Sweet, salty, creamy. Came we three & I had two. The pizza was sweet and salty as well. The crust was so good and fresh. The arugula set it off so well. Def a buy again! The Steak Frites was so good. The chimichurri sauce was perfect. Just the right mount of citrus. Steak was tender and the fries seasoned well. The desserts - don't skip them! The Devils Affogato we had the first time we ate at Sixty Vines. Had to have it again. If you like coffee, chocolate and vanilla ice cream just get it. Restaurant vibe is relaxed and clean. There were several large parties and what looked like a lot of date night guests. Just try it. No regrets!!

The parking lot was pretty full when I arrived but I was fortunate to find a spot near the front and although the lot was full there seemed to be enough parking. They have a nice patio with a decent amount of seating on the side of the building and a small area in the front as well. The inside is a jazzy and lively but cozy vibe with walls adorned with beautiful jazz aesthetic artwork. My food came out hot and fresh. My cheeseburger was delicious. It was juicy, not at all greasy and cooked perfectly at medium well. I didn't request a particular meat temperature but this seemingly standard way they cooked it was right on target. My fries were crispy and delicious as well. In hindsight I shouldve requested a side of ranch to dip them in instead of the standard ketchup. That would've been more ideal for me and would've also tasted amazing with my burger. They give you a ton of fries and you will likely need extra ketchup or whatever dipping sauce for it btw and make sure to ask for it when you order your food to ensure you get it before u finish your meal. The drinks are strong but still tasty. They're also generously poured. Ok so a few minor negatives to point out. Service was a bit slow. I probably sat for 30 minutes or so before a waitress took my order. I arrived after my cousins and fortunately they had a beautiful charcuterie board that I could nibble on. Also, they brought my rum punch as I was finishing my meal. All of the staff was super kind and pleasant however so zero complaints other than the speed of the service. I think they could've used a couple more servers to ensure they could visit the tables more quickly and frequently. Another thing, it was a little loud and kinda difficult to talk across the table but it is a bar, a jazzy upbeat sophisticated bar with a 35-50ish aged crowd so come here for the food, drinks, maturity and great music not to have a deep conversation or at least not on a Friday night. I'll definitely be back for steak night if they still have it. I'm sure that'll give me an opportunity to give this place another star.
