Atmosphere 10/10. Service 10/10. Sunday Buffet 3/10. Promotions 1/10 Went here for the Mother's Day promotion. Reservations were only accepted for parties of 10. There were 5 of us. We got there 30 minutes after opening. We were told the wait was over 2 hours. It was our choice to stay. That was accurate and after we were seated 2 hours later, we went up to the buffet. They could not keep up with the crowd. We were scraping the bottoms of many pans. Once we saw a fresh pan come out we came up and had some fresh lasagna. It was 5/10 at best. The problem was they were trying to run a buffet and full menu. The kitchen couldn't keep up. Order off the menu to guarantee you get a hot fresh meal. The buffet is often depleted. We never saw any of the rotating favorite appetizers as advertised. We enjoyed our mother's complementary glass of wine. When we checked out we asked for our $10 gift cards as advertised in the Mother's Day promotion. We were told they ran out. This is suspicious to me and seems like Larry was running a scam. It is false advertising. It makes me sad that a place with such potential has mediocre food and doesn't follow through with its promotions. Next year we will celebrate Mother's Day at a different place. Hi

Vino in the valley is a hidden gem on the valley with bluff views all around, beautiful. Visiting from MN staying in Pepin, WI a beautiful 30 min drive away. What stood out the most when being a fist time visitor was the kindness of the staff. All 4 people I came in contact with from hostess to the waitress and the bar tender were very personable and seemed to truly care about your experience while visiting. I learned about the winery while chatting to an employee who didn't seem to rush us but help us choose a wine to try. We ate dinner here as well and the food the shrimp scampi we had was flavorful and came out promptly and steaming hot. I'll be back and will recommend to others.

A perfect little hidden gem. Our service was phenomenal, our waitress was beyond great: Food was good, Bloody Mary's and mimosas are great! Perfect ambience

We've been here several times and enjoyed it each time. It is about an hour drive from the Twin Cities (southern edge), so we dont do it often. True to its name, it is in a valley, which provides beautiful views. It is an outdoor restaurant so dress for the weather. There is a roof and they can close in the sides, and there are fans (or heaters for spring/fall) but just be prepared. You may have to wait for a table but they will give you a buzzer and you can get a glass of wine and enjoy the property! There is a bar separate from the restaurant, a fire pit, some lawn games, and a gazebo which usually features musicians. They do not make and serve their own wine. There are a few local wines on the list but mostly you'll find decent standards like La Crema, Clos du Bois -which I appreciate because I don't like Midwest wine. The food is a little hit or miss. The couple we were with ordered pasta and really liked it. I had a Mediterranean pizza and it surprisingly lacked flavor! The warm bread, olive oil and parmesan cheese they bring out ahead was a big hit though! It's worth the trip!

Great night at Vino's celebrating my wife's birthday! Food was great, Harrison, our server, was wonderful, and to top it off, a hot air balloon took off. Ever aspect of our evening was top notch.

I took my parents and my niece here for one if the last weekend's they were open using my gift certificate I purchased last Christmas. It's a great deal, each black Friday they let you purchase up to 2 $60 gift cards for $35 each. It was Sunday, so we tried the brunch buffet. It was very good. My dad didbt want buffet so he ordered a flatbread pizza and it was great. They have a good selection of beer and wine and I believe a full bar. It happened to be very nice and sunny for the end of October so it was refreshing to sit in the open air. The servers are very nice and attentive. I purchased 2 gift cards this past black Friday for Christmas gifts. It's a nice scenic drive.

Beautiful area to slip away I to for a glass of wine or two. Though wish there were one or two signs to help to know where to turn since satellite coverage for the phone doesn't work well to map it. Expect a 1.5 to 2.5 hr wait to be seated for dinner or you can just sit at the bar and order a cheese plate or pizza to go with your wine. We were seated after 1.5 hr wait. The phone was great!! Had the Bacon, almond and blue cheese salad (which is huge). Though per waitress the person who brought it out to me brought it way before the pizza was done and didn't know he needed to wait to bring all food out together so everybody was eating at the same time. Pizza was delish!! The only thing I would rate low on was the female vocalist singing. The speakers were too loud for the eating atmosphere. Had a hard time hearing ourselves talk while eating. Actually looked forward to the vocalist break to hear the actual low dinner music. I think the vocalist stage should be place in the outdoor bar and table setting area instead of facing towards the dinning area. Sounded like karaoke music Just not music for such a fine dining atmosphere.

Food is pretty good and the ambiance and scenery is amazing. The wine list is not. For being a vino spot their wine list is a list of grocery store wine and unimpressive. This place is run by people that need to be hit with a business paddle and knock some sense into them. Hence the poor reviews. You arrive and wait in line like cattle. For some reason they can't take your name down ahead of opening and call your name for a table. This is so idiotic. If they had 2 brain cells to rub, they would take names and send you to the adorable wine gazebo for a drink to make some extra cash. (Hello, the best margins are on the booze sales.) We have been here twice and love it for the experience. We also get there before it opens and stand in line like a moo cow to get a table without a 3 hour wait. Again, I would rather put my name down and go buy a bottle of wine and spend a few hours playing corn hole and enjoying the grassy areas. Or you know, take reservations. But what the hell do I know...

Whey good pizza. No whey good to wait 2 plus hours for....

I've been to Vino in the Valley several times over the years, but this recent visit was SO disappointing. If it had been my first visit, I'd never go back. Sundays have become "buffet day". You have the option of getting a $19 buffet with salads, pizzas and pastas or ordering pizzas only. I don't really understand this AT ALL. I didn't want either of those things. I wanted a salad and the nachos. The nachos are KILLER and freaking huge. We brought my in-laws to celebrate a birthday. Had it been just us, we wouldn't have stayed. They each ordered a pizza and we ordered nothing. It took SO FREAKING LONG for two 10" pizzas. Honestly, our server felt bad, told us to go get slices of pizza and/or salads from the buffet so we could actually eat. We didn't take her up on that and about 20 minutes later, she brought slices to our table. I get that the wood fire stove isn't staffed the same on Sundays, but when the SEVER IS BRINGING FOOD FROM THE BUFFET to the TABLE... well. Something isn't working. The server was totally nice and attentive. Two of us did take her up on getting salads from the buffet, because, let's be real. We didn't think we'd be spending 3 hours there. I'd really recommend you try the nachos at some point. However, I'm not sure when you'll ever get a chance to do that. They tend to get super busy on Saturdays and now Sundays are a total wash. PS. Yes, this place is lovely. Yes, it's gorgeous. However, it's totally changed in recent years.

Definitely a bit more rushed feeling with the 90 minute deadline as per usual (still completely get this but wish it could be a bit more flexible for a larger group), but still adored everything we ate and that's why olio still gets top marks. Things to get: -Focaccia- I always love the focaccia and think it plus the red sauce are worth ordering. -Burnt carrots- The burnt carrots were an unexpected surprise that I would definitely recommend. Fun flavors -Pretty much any pasta: casarecce, paccheri, spaghetti Nero. All so unique and delicious in their own ways. FINALLY made it here for their Tuesday pizza night after years of not making it due to scheduling…read more It was every bit as good as advertised. We lucked out a bit with the weather as it was supposed to rain, but cleared up in time and we arrived right as they opened at 4:30 and parked close. We were order #6 so we got our pizza really quickly. Of course the emphasis is on fresh, local ingredients and you can really taste the difference between here and a generic pizza place. The pizzas are on the spend side, but how often am I going to be in Stockholm? We knew it was $28 going in and gladly handed it over. Ordered a half Italian Sausage, half Canadian Bacon. Lots of cheese, onions, basil, etc. and some fantastic olives. Took two bites and thought "this is so f'n good". Quality ingredients and a crust with the right amount of char on it and we were happy. While waiting the roughly 7 or 8 minutes for it to cook, we took the opportunity to drag in our chairs and cooler (used as a table for the box) in a shaded area and stayed a little over an hour. They aren't allowed to let people bring in their own alcohol, but do sell some on premises if you are so motivated. They also sell bread that is baked on site from grain they mill themselves. Its in a great slightly isolated location off a dirt road and if not the gnats that decided to appear we would have been there longer. They were also doing a brisk take out business, but they were starting to get busy with people bringing in tables and such so I assume it was really hopping later in the evening. Either way, its a beautiful property and they have their process down so it flows pretty efficiently. Yeah I know we lucked out so we didn't have to suffer a long wait, but I'd hang out a while for this again. I guess I'd recommend getting there as close to opening time as possible. Will definitely be back.

Also known as "The Pizza Farm" to many people. If you haven't been, go. You won't regret the drive…read more It's about an hour and half from the cities and if you take WI 35 down there it's a gorgeous one. Here's what you should do: Take a half a day (or an entire day) and drive down to the cute, little artsy town of Stockholm, WI. Peruse the galleries and shops. Purchase a bottle or two of Wisconsin made wine or beer from one of said shops. Then stop by the Stockholm Pie Company and pick up a slice (or a pie) to bring along to the farm as dessert. Head over to the farm with your booze and pie in hand. The earlier in the evening the better because it starts to get crowded around 4:45pm. They only give you the pizza and the box it's in. You bring the rest...the plates, napkins, blanket, chairs, tables, cards, guitar, etc. Seriously, some people nearly camp out and are professionals at eating there. Everything that is on the pizzas is from the farm (it's a working farm) from the wheat that is ground that day for the crust to the meat made from the cute but oh, so very tasty animals. You might have to wait a while for your pie but relax, enjoy yourself. This isn't a meal to be rushed. It's as much about the experience as it is about the food. And remember it's only open on Tuesdays and is cash only.

"It's a Sicilian message. It means Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes." (The Godfather)…read more At Sapori di Sicilia, the message is considerably more appetizing: "Eat the pasta and nobody gets hurt." Walking in for the first time, I half-expected owner Eric Mullen to greet me with cotton-stuffed cheeks and a brooding stare. Instead -- as one Yelp reviewer memorably noted -- Eric looks like he's straight out of Super Mario, more likely to trade you a heavenly mocha for three gold coins than make you an offer you can't refuse. After a four-month pilgrimage to Italy in 2018 to learn the art of Sicilian cooking, Mullen returned to Winona and opened Sapori in 2020, filling a gap in the local food scene roughly the size of a horse head in a mobster's bed. The city desperately needed authentic Italian food, and Sapori delivered. No favors owed. No strings attached. *This time.* Everything here is made by hand: pasta, sauces, bread, pastries, and the gelato. The whole operation, with no shortcuts. The Bronze-cut Pasta: It clings to the sauce with the loyalty of a wartime consigliere who knows exactly where the bodies are buried. The pistachio pesto stands out, though it could use a touch more olive oil or pasta water. A minor grievance that doesn't warrant a trip to the river bottom in concrete shoes. The Pastries and Cakes: Genuinely dangerous. The Mascarpone cheesecake and chocolate cake slice are to die for -- and I mean that in the most Sicilian sense possible. Eat them. Tell no one. The Gelato: Should be under federal investigation. Light, creamy, and so authentically Italian it practically has its own accent. The pale green pistachio is rich, nutty, and deeply serious about its heritage. The Vibe: Warm. Hospitable. A real hit, but with zero cleanup crews required. The Verdict: Leave the gun. And for the love of all that is holy, take the cake and gelato too. You don't need a passport, a secret handshake, or a letter of introduction from a guy who knows a guy. Just show up hungry and show the proper respect.
