Delicious food. We were grateful for a few vegetarian options. Went with a group of 5 and we all enjoyed our meals & sampling a few of their beautiful desserts. Service was friendly. Hope to come back again & try more someday!

    Verdura panino, turkey panino

I really liked this place, I enjoyed the decor/style and vibe. You order at the counter and then they bring you your food. We both had a panino, I had the verdura and my sister had a panino with turkey. It was a huge sandwich - very good bread and the components were great. Yummy balsamic on the bread. A nice cool place to be on a warm day. I'd go again if I was in town.

Pictured from top to bottom is the carbonara, truffle fries, and lemon pasta.

The food was great!! I got the lemon pasta and it was to die for! Clear that this was homemade, and the noodles have a nice chew like I like. Service was relatively quick provided the many people in there. Ambiance is great as the place is very upscale with great lighting and decor. Awesome location for great food at a reasonable price. I should also add their gelato and bakery is wonderful!

My wife and I had a great meal at this little gem of an Italian restaurant in Winona. We were thrilled with the quality of the food which brought back fond memories our recent trip to Italy. All the food tasted authentic to the food that we while in Italy which I think is a great tribute to the chef/owner at this restaurant. To start off, the freshly baked rolls were very good. We decided to take a chance on an interesting menu choice of Brussels sprouts of all things and found it to be a surprisingly good dish and certainly worthy of a try if you'd like to be adventurous or simply enjoy Brussels sprouts. We then moved on to the pasta which was simply delicious. We were curious as to why it was so much better than the pasta served at American restaurants as compared to Italy. The chef explained that they use bronze cut dyes to extrude the pasta giving it the ultimate texture and flavor in the same way that it is made in Italy for generations. You just do not find that quality in the US very often in either restaurants or grocery stores. It was great to come to enjoy this incredible pasta locally. We then moved on to tarts and cannoli for dessert. We were incredibly pleased with the decadent flavors. Finally, we could not resist the Gelato getting Black Cherry and strawberry Gelatos. Both were fantastic and filled with flavor. It was a great experience for us and we look forward to getting back to Winona just to get some more of the wonderfully authentic Italian food at Café Sapori di Sicilia.

Carbonara olive focaccia' and beef sandwiches and local beers

Simple atmosphere. Food was tasty and plentiful. Beer hit the spot. Olives Focaccia and beer were good start. Carbonara was good and beef sandwich was good too

    Pasta fagioli

We ordered pasta fagioli (soup) it was a lot of broth and little pasta or beans. The soup had no seasoning. The Zaffrano was supposed to be saffron, asparagus and shrimp. There was very little asparagus and the sauce was flavorless. The Cacio e Pepe was advertised as a creamy white wine sauce. This was also a great disappointment. The only bright spots were that the chicken and shrimp were cooked well. This meal was not worth the price at an average of $13 a plate.

I've been here twice now, and both times were the highlight of my day. At $10 a plate for just the right amount of pasta, and less than $5 for fresh cut bread and oil, I will be coming here for many pick-me-up days in the future. It's not just the great prices, the food is fantastic. It cured my complete lack of appetite and probably saved me from scurvy- check out the pesto pistachio! I can't wait to bring my friends and family here soon!

Delicious sandwiches and zuppa soup! A local recommended this place and I'm glad I took it. I'll be back next time I'm in town. Also, the chef looks like Mario from Mario Bros

I ventured into a most interesting establishment in Winona this Friday evening, and it proved to be precisely the tonic I required. The dining room was delightfully serene, with only a select few patrons present a peaceful arrangement that I found immensely welcome given my disposition. Upon my arrival, the gentleman assisting me extended an incredibly warm and friendly greeting. His attentive hospitality was thoroughly consistent throughout the evening, and I found the caliber of service to be entirely satisfactory. After requesting the menu to review their selections, I settled on the Pork Belly Tacos. The waiter politely inquired if I would care to include a side of rice with the dish, which I gracefully declined, and my order was processed with admirable efficiency. I must also commend the interior architecture and design. The venue possesses a wonderfully historic, old-world soul, yet it remains impeccably well-maintained and structured rather than ruined. It is a highly impressive aesthetic that adds an air of refined charm to the experience. The comforting atmosphere and flawless execution completely turned my evening around. I am quite enamored with this delightful Winona find and shall most certainly be returning

Portion size was amazing. The service level is top notch. Very attentive without being a bother. The bill is a bit weird. They add a credit card charge. A quick search led us to the co-op. Their website has the daily menu posted which was extremely helpful (and tantalizing!) Their hours were reasonable given the season and the options plentiful. Both days of chilly, cold climbing ended with trips to the co-op for fresh organic veggies, fruit, as well as chocolate and snacks. But also with a HOT MEAL which was so appreciated by us. We took everything to our hotel room and feasted. Everything was delicious and the staff was so friendly and wonderful. The kitchen space (which was open and visible) was clean, organized and smelled great. The soups were awesome also and the leftovers from the day prior were available to take home and heat (so we were able to try one we thought we missed from the day prior - lucky us!) We enjoyed everything and love the prepackaged salads and desserts as well as the mains. The whole place was easy to navigate and had wonderful options. We know we have a good option for healthy, organic, and plant-based food during our next visit to Winona to climb which we are already looking forward to. Kudos to the staff of this co-op and to the community for supporting such a wonderful establishment. Winona is an impressive little community that should continue to support the outdoor activities year round it can host. We were glad to bring our dollars and our business to the community thanks to the folks running the ice climbing park and this awesome co-op.

A Chromatic Feast: The Warm Embrace of Sagra in La Crosse…read more To dine at Sagra in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is to be reminded that genuine culinary warmth can be found far from the traditional epicenters of Italian gastronomy. Guided by an exceptionally attentive and gracious staff, the experience unfolds with a well-paced rhythm that immediately puts the diner at ease. It is an establishment that clearly understands the intersection of great service and great food. The meal begins with a study in subtle elevation: olives presented with a gentle, deliberate warming. It is a small but vital touch that awakens their natural oils and briny depth, setting a welcoming tone for the table. The meatballs follow suit, boasting a robust, comforting heft. They are deeply hearty and undeniably tasty, anchored by a rustic authenticity that demands a proper piece of bread to chase the remaining sauce. However, the quiet star of the evening was a sweet potato dish that essentially stole the stage. It was a vibrant, chromatic triumph--an absolute masterclass in both visual palette and culinary palate. The kitchen managed to coax an astonishing spectrum of colorful flavors from the root vegetable, elevating a humble ingredient into something genuinely amazing. "Life is a combination of magic and pasta." -- Federico Fellini The pasta course, often the crucible by which an Italian kitchen is judged, was a remarkably pleasant affair. While it may not have possessed the sheer, surprising theater of the sweet potatoes, it remained a fundamentally nice, deeply satisfying plate of food that grounded the meal in tradition. Ultimately, Sagra delivers an unequivocally great dining experience. It is a restaurant that balances hearty comfort with vibrant execution, proving that a well-crafted Italian menu in the heart of Wisconsin is a journey well worth taking.
