Once while dining in we had the arancini ball and it was ice cold in the middle, other times our food tasted just luke warm. Today we gave it another shot and ordered delivery after a long travel day and we were so disappointed, paid $10 for a ceaser salad and it was very small with 5 croutons and looked like the lettuce was just poured out of a bag you'd buy at the grocery store. Vino gets a solid 3 overall for a first visit! We came here for Valentine's Day on a whim. They "weren't seating any walk-in's" but the hostess told us we could sit at the bar. This must be a regular thing for them and not just a "busy night" kind of thing, since other reviewers mention this also. I find that odd. The ambiance is a little weird, to be honest. The bar area makes you feel like you're in someone's kitchen while the dining area feels more like a restaurant. The bartender was friendly and made the drinks well, though there was too much ice in my husband's old fashioned and not enough in my martini. She checked on us a decent amount of times, but forgot to fill waters the entire visit. On to the food; the calamari was good, but you get far too little on the plate. I had the pepperoni pizza which we both thought was quite good (there aren't many stellar pizza places in Chesapeake, so we will definitely come back here for the 'za). My husband had the lasagna which unfortunately was just all tomato-tasting. There weren't too many complex flavors in it. The price point here is decent, but the quantity you get with an appetizer might need to be tweaked. We would return to try other entrees for sure. Worth a visit to try for yourself! read more

I wanted Vino to be good, but it wasn't. We had been to vino previously at their old location and weren't impressed, but we're hoping the move to the new spot would liven the everything up. The service is good, timely and friendly. The ambiance is good, decor nice. The food was where Vino fell flat for me. We ordered Calamari and Wagyu Ravioli as apps, that were ok. For the mains, I ordered the Veal Saltimbocca. The sauce flavor was good, but the veal was under seasoned and overcooked. My wife ordered the Meatball app, and a Caprese Salad. The Mozzarella in the salad was not soft l, as it should be. My Daughter ordered the Ravioli, and said it was ok. All of main dishes were not hot, they were warm, but not hot. Overall, our family had an amazing meal. The service was amazing, and it's a cute spot. The meatball app is fantastic, my husband had the veal portofino and loved it. Som had shrimp fettuccine Alfredo and loved it. I had the twin filetto, and loved it. Daughter had the ravioli- and hated it. Trying to take a traditional dish and put a buffalo chicken wing spin on it fell flat for her. More of a lesson learned to not order that again, than a deterrent of going back. read more

So I'm pretty glad that this place relocated because the previous location looks Janky af. This new Vino location looks fantastic and gives that fancy schmancy Italian vibe. They seated us pretty quickly when we have reservations. But for a busy weekend, I would expect to wait about 20 minutes or so. My wife and I got a calamari, gnocchi, spinach, artichoke dip, and some martinis. The cocktails were interesting. Didn't really taste much of the other flavors; the pear pomegranate martini has a really strong pomegranate taste to it, but it's really hard to figure out where the pear is in the cocktail. The limoncello martini just taste like limoncello. They served us with literally a whole loaf of bread and the cut was about an inch thick per slice! Honestly, the butter was amazing. It got that whipped salty taste. Otherwise, the food was all right. Calamari just taste like calamari, but not as much marinara sauce. Spinach artichoke dip with the focaccia chips were amazing but lacking something. I don't know what just something. The gnocchi was actually cooked well compared to the other Italian restaurants here in the Hampton roads. read more

I dined here on a Monday night. The entrance was a little unusual, but once inside, it's a charming little spot. The vibe is upscale yet casual; I was in jeans, and most others were too. There was no wait, so I was seated promptly, and Haley greeted me right away. I started with an Italian Margarita. The bartender poured it too strong, and I tasted nothing but tequila. It wasn't rimmed with sugar as advertised, not that it would've helped the flavor. I couldn't even finish the drink, it was not enjoyable at all. I ordered the Penne Ala Vodka for my meal. It was creamy and rich. For dessert, I couldn't resist the Crème Brûlée. As someone always on the hunt for the perfect one, theirs didn't disappoint. The atmosphere nice and cozy. Great bar area. Drinks were good... a bit on the pricey side, but the sizes were good. Mussel appetizer was very good, but the calamari was a bit chewy and soggy. Salad was great... very fresh. The main course meals was where they shined. Everything was fantastic! We could have skipped dessert... biscottis should be nice and crunchy, but this one was delicious but chewy... but again, in Italian, so I'm very picky on these things. On 15 February 2026 We decide to trying a new a different Italian Restaurant so we went to Vinos first red flag was the hostess she had to double check to see if she could seat us or if they had a spot available to for us, and the place was empty, mind you the 2 young men that were leaving said they just walked in and was seated right away. The waitress was wonderful, very bubbly, very knowledgeable about the menu, but other than her all was down hill. Ordered a caprese salad and calamari for appetizers the caprese salad needed some basil or oregano or Italian seasoning salt, pepper, olive oil something sprinkled on it. The Balsamic on the salad was a little too sweet for my taste The Calamari was tasteless seasoning. The batter had no flavor, and the calamari itself wasn't seasoned or anything. Just overall bad taste the lemon and the marinara sauce helped it, but won't order it again. Ordered lasagna and Penne Alla vodka. The lasagna portion was very small drowned in spaghetti sauce not enough for an adult meal flavor was there, but overall the portion size was a turn off the penne pasta, same thing portion size small flavor was there I don't think this will be a place for me to visit again. Ordered tiramisu for dessert. It was flavorful, but the base of it was watery as if it was frozen and thawed out in the presentation overall for the tiramisu it was not there. It used to be one of our go to places before they moved before I found a LIVE spider crawling in my salad. Omg, I can't. When I mentioned it they said sorry, offered to remake it but I didn't want more spiders so I said no. They charged me for the spider salad that I didn't even eat... so naturally we never went back as eating spiders is pretty traumatic. BUT! With the move to the new building I thought we should give it a try again because the bread/burrata was good. I ordered the same dried cherry goat cheese salad and...it came out with no dried cherries. The salad has like three ingredients in it and one of the major ones is missing? They said "oh yeah we haven't had those for days." 1. Why offer food on your menu that is missing a main component, especially when Kroger is so close and someone could literally restock something like dried cherries so easily? 2. Why are the wait staff not warning customers about missing ingredients BEFORE ordering- it truly sets up disappointments and false expectations, like not warning a customer who orders a pie that you're out of cheese. My wife's shrimp risotto did not look like risotto and she said it was ok. My brother had the bolognese and he said it just tasted Like lasagna. I had the veal saltimbocca and as you will see in the pic there is lots of water in my dish vice sauce. The cheese was cold and the meal was room temperature. There was very little veal in my dish. We went to Vino's for my wife's Birthday, made reservation and arrived early due to limited parking. It's a charming little spot. We were seated right away, and our waiter was (Tyler). He assisted the wife on a selection of wine and even gave her a sample to ensure it was to her liking. He brought a plate of warm sliced bread with butter while we waited for our calamari. The restaurant was very busy with the large 8 top tables full and a party of about 14, so our wait for our main course dinner was a little longer but that was ok. Tyler was very attentive to our needs and checked on us and kept our water glasses full/drinks as well. Our meals arrived I had Chicken Parmesan, wife had Penne Ala Vodka and the presentation, quality and taste of the food was excellent. I might wish for a greater variety of choices, or barring that, a special of more than one item. Our server Tyler was very attentive to our table of four, while providing the same fully engaged service to every table in our section. It was a busy evening, but the service was exemplary - all bases covered, and a bit of intuition. Our table enjoyed the Salmon, Capellini Pomodoro, Egg Plant Parm, and Chicken Parmesan. The oysters Rockefeller are a must when dining here. You can even watch as they're made in the wood fired oven at the front. Their cocktails are tasty and the pasta dishes never disappoint. Food was okay--not as good as I expected. Owners need to consult with interior designer to devise solution to the cold air which inflitrates all the tables near the wine rack. Waitress was personable but never checked to see if water glasses needed refilled during meal, both of which went empty. Used a Vino gift card which incurred a 3% processing charge normally levied against credit cards. Waitress then asked if we wanted to have her process the charge from the 20% cash tip we left. We went to the new Suffolk location. The food was great but i gave three stars because on arrival they told us they were no longer seating anyone but we could sit at the bar. When a group of three ladies came in and did not have reservations as i heard them stating they were allowed to be seated in a both that had been empty our entire service. And also while at the bar other patrons were offered things that was not offered to us. Beautiful place and closed to us than the other locations. My girlfriend and I come here relatively often, usually relatively late in the evening, and the food and service is always really good! However, we stopped in a few minutes before 9 to eat on Monday and the hostess greeted us by doing the horse thing with her lips and then looking down at her phone and muttering "the kitchen closes in 35 minutes, but you can still drink if you want." No option to eat despite knowing what we want before we sit down and the restaurant being open for another hour. Sounds like the hostess is in the wrong job, but frankly we probably won't be back for quite a while now. read more
