I've been waiting to give Vintage a review until my flooring was actually corrected, but since Vintage won't take responsibility, I figured I would lay it all out there. I purchased both LVP and tile flooring from Vintage back in April of 2021. Paid top dollar...probably 20-30% more than what you can find on the open market. This was probably the WORST flooring job I have ever seen. The grout was uneven and discolored. Some areas were even missing grout all together. The color of the grout didn't match what I picked out and was discolored to say the least. As you can see from the attached photos, some areas are significantly darker than others. It almost looks like 10 year old tile after water has been sitting on them. Considering you're paying premium pricing, you would expect premium service. I called Vintage customer service to get assistance and to give them an opportunity to make it right. Let's just say sub par would be generous. The lady was nice, but was not interested in helping me out. She was doing everything she can to blow me off and push me back to the builder. The benefit of using this company is you can add the cost to your loan. However, if you want quality work, I would suggest going somewhere else. I got my kitchen back splash done elsewhere and couldn't be happier. read more

I purchased my home August 2017, brand new. My floors were installed by Vintage. When I went to my appointment to pick out my flooring and backsplash, I looked at a ton of samples. I found the perfect ones, then asked for my quote. I'm in construction, so I had pre-priced it out in my head....but I was a little more than speechless when the representative looked at me with a smile and told me $33k for about 100sq ft of flooring. If I went anywhere else, that same flooring would be half that price. It was laminate flooring. The material itself was about $5k MAX. I calculated they were profiting at least $15k from me. (Generous numbers: $5k material +13k labor) So I said NO THANK YOU! I'll just get my guys to do it at a later date...I was just going to use vintage so I didn't have to deal with demolition after moving in. But if I'm going to save $15k(ish), I'll live through a day or 2 of work. No big. So they did the standard flooring. I had them come out multiple times for various issues. Let's just say, I have a defect on my carpet and they found every way to get out of replacing it, calling it "NORMAL wear and tear" after only 1 year....impossible as we don't allow shoes in the house and I clean my carpets regularly (as they recommend). I'll leave it at that. read more

I just bought a Lennar home in Lake Forest's Serrano Summit development in August. I have lived in multiple new builds over the years and I have to say this new build has to be the worst I've experienced. From poor communication regarding the time line and getting repairs fixed in a timely manner to very poor craftsmanship, it's been a true disappointment. The issue I have, after living in the home for 4 months and bringing it to the attention both in written form and verbally, the carpet installed has a defect in the padding. By that I mean there are hard surfaces throughout my entire home. Since we do not wear shoes in the house, we step on these annoying hard surfaces all the time. Lennar does not want to take responsibility for the defect as they subcontracted to someone else. It was agreed by the subcontractor, Vintage Design Incorporated in Lake Forest, to rip up the carpet, a huge inconvenience for me, and replace the padding. However, they have been holding up the process for 4 months as they said they have to get authorization from the padding manufacturer. In my opinion, Lennar sold me the home so they should put up the money to have it replaced and deal with the "return" on the backend so I can move on with my life. Vintage has been a nightmare to deal with as they won't return my emails and have been dragging their feet in taking responsibility for fixing my flooring. Additionally, there is dark grout throughout the tiled parts of my home which can't be fixed. I am now in the process of looking into taking them to small claims court. read more

Bought a New Town Home where "Vintage Design" was the sub contractor for flooring and shower tiling, they were suppose to manage the project. I tested their workmanship as a first time home buyer and had purchased additional grout stain - An inspector came out because I notice it stained, inspector said it was not fully sealed, to find out after they consucted internal, and it wasn't stained/sealant at all! Ask for a discount from Kim and never replied back after job was render after job was completed. They wasted four hours of my time, in addition to my trust. read more

I cannot in good faith recommend this company. I wish I had read other reviews. Same issue as Charlie K. Used this company to install my LVP flooring. Nothing but issues since then. When you get opinions from 8 other contractors, and every contractor said the install was subpar, then it's shocking to hear Vintage Design tell me to my face that they "went above and beyond." But there are huge gaps in between the stairs and the walls. Just empty gaps. I complained and Vintage's "quality control" manager said "it fits their standard of care". "5 star experience we pride ourselves on".. as I was explained to by Ms. Amber Weigel, Director of Design Centers. My fiancee (Craig) and I's experience with Vintage and their "contractual business partner" Van Daele Corp, is anything but 5 stars. They have proven they lack the ability to want to take responsibility for work done incorrectly (this includes clean up), overall poor quality control and workmanship, inability to control or manage contractors and failure to provide customer service. Our first meeting with the design center, my Fiancee had worked the midnight shift. We had explained this prior to our meeting with Bethany (Livermore, CA location). We knew the initial meeting could take 4-6 hours. What ended up derailing the time was not our inability to make selections but Vintage's ability to stay focused during the meeting. On another date, we had a noon meeting scheduled (4/5/14). When we arrived, Bethany informed us she was running late with her existing meeting. She inquired if we wouldn't mind going to have lunch/shop for about 1 1/2 hrs then come back. We obliged but were a little bit taken back as a phone call would have been appropriate. After time elapsed we went back to the Vintage offices. This time Bethany informed us that she still did not have the information. 5 star? No! On 12/19/14, after learning that the pendant lighting was installed incorrectly above our T-shaped island, our relator, Craig and I, had a meeting w/Scott Weide (Sales Rep) and Chris Ludlow. It was argumentative at best. We were adamant that the pendant lighting which had been installed down the length of the T-island was installed incorrectly. It should have been horizontal along the length of the side of the sink. We heard Scott & Chris tell us over and over again, Vintage says "you choose it", or "you were the only home owner to select it going this way". Each excuse they gave we countered w/ "show me where we agreed to this". At one point I reminded them that Bethany at our first meeting, was sick and unorganized. She was very distracted so who knows what was translated to paper but we did not agree to the location the way it was. Also, the way in which Vintage installed it had one of the electrical wire housing overlapping the can lighting housing. 33 minutes into a heated & unprofessional disagreement between home buyers (you know, the CLIENT) and Van Daele...they said let's call Vintage. Scott and Chris appeared about 10 minutes later pronouncing their exclamation of great news, "We are going to have the lights moved to the way you want". Really???? You mean, the way it should have been???? The electrician was back within the hour after the meeting moving the lights. He said "I thought it was really odd but they said it was correct". After all, when wire housing for can and pendant lights sit or overlap one another and the electrician questions it, shouldn't Vintage? On another date, we discovered 2 workers walked the wet cement in our newly poured CA room. Van Daele/Vintage decided that the way to take corrective action on a brand new construction home that cost $728,000, was to grind the footprints out. That only made the situation worse. Then they proposed removing a slab of cement and repouring. This would have created discoloration between the slabs as their would be multiple pour dates. Again, brand new home; I think we deserve brand NEW. Lastly, they wanted to see if they could hire someone to float the cement. They ultimately were unable. Craig proposed the idea of having the exterior tile that was in the model installed over the concrete as a solution. After many weeks, we were asked to pay $1,800.00 towards the cost of the tile. On 12/31/14, we discovered the tile that was being installed was not what we were asking for or paid for. Vintage thru Van Daele, says the tile we wanted was discontinued (lie) and therefore, they made the selection on what tile we would get. In the end, we fought to have this tile removed, they refused to refund our $1,800.00 and cited we signed a sheet of paper acknowledging they were installing another tile other than what we had discussed. In the end it's called defrauding Craig and the homeowner. Kitchen tile was laid incorrectly. Took weeks of arguing before they agreed to replace the tile. One group of workers walked off the job, Vintage was unable to get another crew that day. Project was completed but not without the 1st floor being coated in grout powder. Upon asking to have the carpets cleaned & walls washed we were told "that they properly sealed off the area, so they didn't find the need. REALLY? Anyone who has lived through a tile rip out knows dust is unavoidable. 5 star??? What you wish to be vs. reality is quite different. It sounds nice. I would advise you spend a day or two at Nordstroms. That is 5 star service and quality. Be honest, your 1 star service w/a focus on profit not quality. read more

We are buying a newly built Lennar home in Menifee, CA and have not had one good experience with Vintage since day 1 (Lennar's flooring partner at this particular development). We went to the sales office and our appointment was OK, but the sales gal mis-quoted us by almost $3K because she kept getting the rooms wrong (tile vs. carpet). SO, we ended up $3K over our intended budget. Then, when our tile was in from the warehouse, we were called on a Tuesday afternoon and only given 24 hours to come preview the product to make sure it matched the samples we picked in the sales office as dye lots often come in with color slightly off the sample. We both work full time and currently live an hour away, so that was not feasible and we were told "oh you can just sign a release saying you will allow us to install the floor sight unseen and you refuse your preview". NOT OK, especially since we are spending almost $16K! Our sales rep at Lennar was the only one who seemed to care and tried to work out more time for us to get in to look at the tile. We ended up sending a family member to look at it for us. After the floor was installed and the house complete, we went for our first home inspection. Something that should be fun and exciting turned into a nightmare; we were so dismayed to see a horrible job on the tile throughout the entire home! They must have used multiple bags with different colors of grout, so it was brown in some areas, beige in others, and some lines even had weird spots if peach! Basically, the grout was a different color everywhere you looked; so sloppy and tacky. There were also areas of cracked grout and one row of tiles (right when you walk in the house, of course)where they completely mis-measured and stuck a small piece in where it didn't belong and threw off the entire flow of the entry hallway. My advice to anyone buying a home with a developer that works with Vintage Design: Take the basic floor that your builder includes and hire someone else to do your flooring after you close! Plus Vintage charges way more than other flooring companies who probably do a better job. read more

My 10-year old Lennar home unfortunately had a plumbing backup and flooded about 50% of my house in early December (our fault, not Lennar's). All of the flooring in those affected rooms had to come out and when it was time to put new floors back in, I contacted Vintage Design, whom I worked with when I bought my home 10 years ago. I dealt with Bryn Billman, who was very gracious to help us, even though this was 10 YEARS after we purchased the home. As it turned out, we had Vintage do just the carpeting as the hardwood we originally had was very difficult to find and we wanted a different style tile in the bathroom. Their carpeting quote was significantly less than 3 other local Escondido carpet companies and so we contracted with VD to do the carpet replacement and also replace the carpet in one bedroom not affected by the flood. Their crew was timely and prompt. Their installation work was first rate (and I'm a retired general contractor and i know good work when I see it), and they finished far sooner than I expected. My wife and I are thrilled with their work and I would recommend folks working with Bryn Billman in the future. read more

buyers beware my builder gave me $24,000.00 in flooring credits to use at vintage design. the flooring that my designer and i chose actually was $28,000,00. come to find out after the hardwood flooring started to fail, they did not install hardwood flooring at all, they used a cheaper laminate flooring, that their own inspector said that they normally use in manufactured homes. (trailers) this cheap flooring is from $.99sqft to$3.49sqft. i was charged over $9.00sqft for this cheap imitation wood flooring. i was duked! read more

This is no one you don't want to do business with ! I bought my home 4 yrs ago and my floor coming apart in areas we don't even live on. They have blamed us water damage never happened! Wouldn't contact them if we had damaged flooring. The firs guy came out and did his inspection. Never heard back I called oh it water damage, I was upset for sure and had read all reviews they blame everyone. She said we can send an inspector out. Another waste of time he works for them and said our fault! I finally called and said I need to speak to someone who can help us telling my long story. She put me through to Keith Buckley President sons owner. He said how about I send Manufacturer of Scottsdale and I asked if he could come out ? He said yes . He texted me and said I will send Vice President out. This appointment was horrible Rep from Scottsdale said he has never seen this before but the flooring not defective. Of course the other guy blaming us this floors has ridges he's just popping up in places we don't even walk on. This has been a nightmare for us paid thousands of dollars ! Vintage has 10 he warranty but it means nothing. So the outcome was Vice President offered to take pieces out of closets to repair all the bad areas! I said this is my home this floor is under warranty! I called Keith Buckley who backs his little guy up with the answer. They don't stand by customer service at all! They blame all customers for all issues. Do not use this company. We are not done with them yet. Sorry to share this nightmare experience but so true. Do not use this company!!! There flooring work in our new home was so bad. (A brand new house!!!) So they needed to send out someone to fix both the wood and tile grout and it was supposed to be done by a certain agreed upon date before we moved in. Tonya did not return phone calls nor did anyone reach out for three months (two months passed the agreed upon date) to even schedule anything. When they did, I asked if they could clean our shower grout since we planned to have it sealed prior to moving in, but didn't since we were waiting on them. They said they would get back to me on Monday. No call. Finally the installer came two months late and installed the wrong color grout!!! So now there is a new problem. And when I spoke to Andy he was so apathetic and just kept saying it was unfortunate and they wouldn't do anything about it. They took no responsibility, did not apologize, and didn't fix their work! read more
