I initially came here excited and ready to spend money today with my family. I have a love for records and have collected them for years. I came across this place on my visit to Monterey and decided I would go and check out the store. I went with my wife and three kids ages 7, 5 and 8 months old. I was carrying my 8 month old in her baby carrier. As I opened the door to the business, an older bearded man with long hair who worked behind the counter prevented my family from entering the store saying that the business was full and he did not want children in the store. He went on to say there was also water damage which is not my problem and completely unprofessional to tell a first time customer. The man was extremely rude and appeared bothered by me and my family. I responded by saying that I would take my business elsewhere and he slammed the door shut behind me like a child! Never have I experienced such a rude and disrespectful attitude from a business. My children asked why the man was so angry and I told them that it wasn't their fault and we would not support a business who treats people that way. I will never go here and will make sure all of my friends and family stay clear of this place. I come from a family with military and law enforcement backgrounds and this man made me and my family feel less than and unwelcome as first time customers! This was a bizarre and wild experience as a proud American to endure. read more

Love love love love this place. Always good music & incense going. Bob is a super nice and super knowledgeable guy. I have found some of my favorite records in my collection here. I always have to stop in when I'm in PG. Wish there were more music shops out there like this one, but I'm glad this one is here and I hope it's there for a long time. Took a side trip to PG to check out Vinyl Revolution. Super happy we made the trek over. Bob is the real deal. It's a shame we don't have more stores like this (not just record/music stores). As a music enthusiast finding a gem like this in Monterey was amazing. Once entering the store, you will be overcome by a fuzzy feeling as if you are searching for records in a friend's basement. There is a wide selection of music. Whether you're looking for vinyl, cassette, CD, they have it all, both old and new! The walls are covered with posters from different genres that span across decades in music. I was digging for a good amount of time and I found some selections that were decently priced. This store is not trying to rip you off, they are trying to share the music. The employee who worked there was extremely friendly and answered all our questions. We even chatted a little bit about music before I left. If you're in the area check this place out, it will take you back in time and keep you grooving to the music. read more

HOLY CRAP - taken straight out of the film "High Fidelity". You'll find some very obscure records, excellent quality/condition and no smarmy, "too cool" bullshit from employees. The prices are excellent. Really great selection, I really enjoyed stopping by here, it's chock full of records. I'm most interested in classic music, heavy metal and old jazz and they had a great selection. The prices for used LP's were decently price and dependent on condition and rarity. So if you're a vinyl junkie like I am, I suggest coming here. I had good luck during my previous visit and walked away with some treasures. Woohoo is right, this place is a nostalgic flashback to the far our and groovy 1960s. The owner fit the bill for the Haight Ashbury in san Francisco. The posters on the walls, the owner's great beard and long gray hair slips you back to that time that is always said if you remember, you were not there. We say, I think we had a great time...I'm just not sure I remember. The owner is a great conversation generator about the old days and the fantastic music of the 60s. Take a trip back in time and check this place out. I guarantee you will have a great time if you know anything about the 60s. Enjoy!! read more

Stopped by on a visit to PG and picked up a few albums from this terrific shop, they were a bit dusty and needed a good cleaning but for the price I figured it's a safe gamble. Turns out they are all VG+ vinyl, and in MUCH better condition than they appeared. The shop is great and Bob is such a cool guy. The selection is limited but there's no junk in the bins, everything I saw would have been a good purchase. Picked up Dave Mason, Toto, Stevie Wonder, Ann Murray, and Peter, Paul & Mary - I think they set me back a whole $30 (Stevie was a double album and $18). If you're in the area stop by, you won't be disappointed! read more

Was visiting Pacific grove/Monterrey from San Jose and every time I go to a new city I'm always on the look out for record stores and I came across the vinyl revolution. I have been visiting this shop over the years. This is the first time that I stopped in to the new location. I like the new place. The shop is very well organized and carries a wide variety of LP records in arranged by artist and genre. There are also CDs, a few cassettes, and some cool t-shirts. (I even saw several 8-tracks). Prices that I saw ranged from 25 cents to $19.99. The walls are a museum of music history with photos and classic handbills. Bob, the owner, plays a variety of music in the shop that fits the experience that his shop provides. I picked up a few of his shop's t-shirts and plan to come back to browse through his racks.
