I made a super last minute (literally 1.5 hours before my appointment) hair appointment with Tilly via their online appointment app. I called just to confirm my appointment was okay, and was met with the sweetest girl (I believe her name was Ryan/Riann)? On my way there she texted directions and stood outside to find me, which was a much appreciated gesture since Old Town can be so confusing! The salon itself is so cute!! I met with Tilly inside the salon who I would now trust with my life with my hair! Initially I wanted to get some light pieces through my hair, but I've truly put my fine thin hair through the gamut in the past year (bleaching/lightening my hair previously, then dumping dark box dye). She did a strand test and demonstrated how my would basically snap. She didn't feel comfortable proceeding in lightening my hair, which I feel speaks to her standing by her craft, and not necessarily trying to make a quick buck. I can't say I was surprised when I heard the news, and though it wasn't initially what I had anticipated, we worked through some options and she suggested low lights and a hair masque since it was dimension that I was looking for. The head massage was heavenly!! When Tilly turned the chair around to unveil my hair, I was so pleasantly surprised! I didn't think a few lowlights would make a big difference, but it gave my hair life again. Whatever magic she worked on my hair also made it feel so much healthier at home! It's been 2 weeks since my appointment and I've notice my comb going through my hair way more easily, with less breakage stuck in my comb. The pricing was also extremely fair. I'll be back for my future hair needs! read more

I just recently changed salons and I'm so happy that I did. Viola Rosa has a terrific vibe. Everyone is so happy and friendly and they've done the place up right. Colleen cuts my hair and she's amazing. First, she's a terrific listener so we talk about what I'm trying to achieve with my hair and then she goes to work. I'm never rushed and she's always ready when I get there. The salon is clean and bright and they let me relax with a glass of 'something' while she's mixing color. I'm just learning their line of products but have been very pleased with my color. They also let me book out my appointments for the year which is a must. Love this place. Love Colleen. Ok, the whole atmosphere if this place is stunning! Along with the amazing hairstylists, they offer Kevin Murphy products and a gift sets. Emily has been doing my hair for over 7 years and just does a stunning job every time. Not once have I left disappointed. This salon has exceeded my expectations. Duke greets you at the door with a smile and warm hello! Super friendly and helpful! The salon is beautiful, the music and lighting set a tranquil yet modern vibe! Location is easy to get to and lots of parking!!! Of course I love my stylist Jaimi Dolmage she always does such a great job on mine and my daughters and sons hair. Since she's a Barber and Stylist the husband also tags along! Jaimi has the ability to create timeless/ classic cuts and color, as well as modern and edgy styles. Her years of experience as a stylist and Barber shine through. I appreciate how she really takes the time to listen to what we wanted and doesn't just rush us through our color and cuts. Did I mention their product line...Kevin Murphy , it smells so good and wow my color pops ! I recommend going to this salon, try to make appointment with Jaimi Dolmage. I've had a habit in the past of just winging it when it came to salons; walking in saying to myself how bad can they be knowing all I had were simple ideas that should have been easy enough to execute. With enough bad chops and poor dye jobs I decided a few months ago to drop that habit. So I started researching salons in the area and following their stylists on instagram to get an idea as to who would be a great person to contact to have my hair done. Over the last 3 months of watching the quality of work in their pictures I decided to go with Emily from Viola Rosa. I got there at 11am this morning and walked out this afternoon asking myself 1) where has she and this salon been all my life?! 2) where can I go now to ensure i get full wear out of this styling she just gave this amazing color job??? I won't rant on but they deserve 5 stars in every aspect - I will be back!!! read more

I don't think I ever wrote a review before because I don't recall the last time I had been given a bad haircut. Not only did Emi not listen to my instructions when I specifically told her what I did NOT want in a haircut but I felt that she made it a point to give me the cut I didn't want. Not only did I pay more for this overrated salon but I had to pay for my hairdresser to fix the mess. She said it was one of the worse cuts she's seen in a while. Lesson learned. Just because a salon appears cute and fashionable and from snobsdale doesn't mean the hairdressers are experienced and good. read more
