I took two pants to this tailoring to be fixed. When I tried them on, they were still too big, which was concerning. Then I was charged $89.00 for the arrangement. I cannot recommend this alteration shop, for it is just too expensive. read more

WARNING STAY AWAY: I took my father who recently passed away suit & other items to get altered.On suit she quoted me $224.crazy price.I told her no & to do the other items .For some reason she asked if I wanted her to hold on to suit until I picked up other items so I said ok but big mistake. When i returned I was shocked to see them altering the suit.When I told her she acted like she forgot.I told her that it was not my fault & that all I could pay was 100.She said she would call me Monday & never did so I returned Friday & she told me she had someone willing to buy suit & would share profit with me unless I paid $224.I told her that wasn't right and to keep my fathers suit and the money because I dont do business like that and that she would no longer get my business. Taking advantage of someone is not good business practice but to someone who u know just lost a loved one is just beyond me,so I recommend all to stay away or risk getting conned as I was out of my deceased fathers suit. Very sad and to say I am both hurt and disgusted at this shameful practice is an understatement. read more

Took a bridesmaid dress in to add some jewels to it last week.The owner acted like she had no idea how to do something like it. She had me try the dress on then starts pinning to make alterations when I didn't really ask for any. Then She looks in the store and finds a piece of jewel strand. I told her I liked it and I showed her where I wanted it sewn on the dress. She told me she would need 3 yards total because she didn't have enough and it would be $90 for just the jewels not including labor. I looked the same exact jewels up on Amazon for $40. She kept stressing the fact that this had to be hand sewn. I understood and agreed that I would pay. I told her I'd order it and bring it back this week. I went there today and she said she has to take a deposit, which I was fine with. She charges me tax on the deposit, so I ask her if I will have to pay tax again after the final fix and she says yes. It was one job so I didn't understand why I'd be paying tax twice. Anyhow I said forget the alterations, just sew the jewels on. She said she doesn't want to do the job without giving me a price. I said ok that's not an issue. She says I'm too busy now so I'll call you next week with a price. Mind you, she has had the dress the whole time and knew how many yards she needed to sew on since the first day when she took measurements. I said Nevermind, took my dress and jewels and went to my nearest cleaners - Broadway cleaners. Where they charged me $40 to add the jewels. Marcela is overpriced and for an experienced seamstress, I had to give her ideas on how to make the dress pretty. I'm so glad It didn't work out because I was afraid of the price she was going to charge when I only paid $70 for the dress. read more

I dropped off a jacket to be altered and the work itself was great, i'm very happy with how it turned out. The reason for the 3 stars is because I let them know I needed the jacket at a very specific time due to me going to a conference and was reassured that it would be done by then. I called in the morning 30 mins before they opened, they answered and told me they wouldn't be able to get it to me and they would be opening an hour later because they had a doctors appt. I get people have appt's but I should have been told this before I left it there otherwise I would've just taken my business else wear to ensure getting it back at the time I needed. I had to move my entire schedule around because of this. Again, they do great work and the jacket turned out great but what happened was just unprofessional in my opinion. read more

This is my second time going to VIP alterations, and I wish I had posted a review sooner because this shop is truly amazing at what they do! Every time I had come into this shop, I was received warmly and with undivided attention from the owner, Marcela. She is someone who keeps all interactions to a professional level, but at the same time makes you feel like you've been family friends for years. She takes the time to know you as more than a faceless customer and really goes above and beyond to make sure whatever she is altering for you to be perfect. I'll continue going to her services because she is a masterful seamstress. She is friendly, professional, is easy to talk to and to get into contact with, and does what she does best in a timely manner considering how busy she is with all the other orders. I dropped my item off, which needed significant alterations to it.. and I was fairly pleased w the alterations. Without a good amount of experience w this sort of thing... I feel like it was a little on the expensive side. I might be wrong, as it was a decent amount of work, but $90 is a lot of money for an alteration to me.. The staff member I worked w was very pleasant. There's a decent chance I'll come here again, or at least get a quote from them and compare w other vendors in the future.. read more

I stumbled upon this alteration place and I'm so happy I did. The ladies are very kind and wonderful at what they do. I came in and they quickly fit my pants and even hold my baby while I tried them on. I got my altered pants back the next week and they look and fit perfectly. Just picked up my dress from Marcela. She did a fantastic job. I had my dress hemmed and taken in a little on top. She has a small shop with a dressing room. She took her time addressing my needs and I was able to try on the dress again when I picked it up and it came out exactly as I hoped for. Marcela is very kind and professional. I found VIP Alterations on google and I drive an hour (each way) because I have high end dresses and clothing that need to be altered for competition. This means that nothing can be too tight, too loose, too short or too long. She takes the time to make it perfect each and every time. Additionally, she also remakes our clothing into new items that we have drawn up for her on a piece of paper. As if this wasn't enough of a reason to use her, her prices are incredibly reasonable.
