He even helped us adjust our camera settings so we could get the best pictures based on the lighting and scenery. One of our favorite parts was hearing about all the movies and TV shows filmed throughout the park. Barry pointed out famous filming locations and shared fun facts along the way. We got a text from Oscar 30 min before our 10am meeting time telling us where to meet him, conveniently across the street from our hotel. He was easy to find despite all the other carriage drivers. It was the most gorgeous day in NYC so this couldn't been timed more perfectly. The carriage was plenty spacious for our party of 3 (would have been fine for 4 or 5 if had kids). We stopped for a few pictures and Oscar pointed out some highlights including where movies were filmed. He also showed us a fountain where other carriage drivers were telling their riders that it was the fountain from friends but he said he couldn't lie to us. ;). And we even got to feed Oscar's lovely horse strawberry some carrots. 45 min later our 50 min carriage ride came to an end. As soon as we paid Oscar he left us quickly in search of his next ride. Again no need to book this experience ahead of time, but if you want to plan ahead you'll be in good hands with Oscar and his horse, strawberry.

After a quick bag search, I went upstairs to the women's locker room which was cleaner than expected. Staff were nice in reminding us to lock up our stuff. As a former competitive swimmer, it was extremely difficult to do flip turns, not only because they closed half of the pool horizontally due to lifeguard staffing issues, but also because there were multiple people moving in different directions. It was busy when it first opened in the morning but then calm downed a bit and folks were able to do more lap swimming. Water was pretty clean and temperature was good; chlorine levels weren't too bad. Sounds like they close for the fall/winter so I'm hoping to come back before it gets cold.

Honestly, we didn't expect the Central Park pedicab tour we booked to be this entertaining and fun! We received such a special service throughout the tour and even booking the tour that we almost thought there was a catch. There was none. This company simply delivers too quality service and great value for the money you pay. But- I was still searching for those 2 chicks (sigh) ....so times passed by and as those 2 chicks became a distant memory- Transport Alternative (the cycling advocacy group in NYC) announced that 2019 ride (the 30th) would be the last. So 9/8/19, i did my last The 30th and Final NYC Century in the last attempt to FINALLY find those girls, but I just rode the ride with the memory of the ride downthe memory lane.... Good work Transport Alternatives for arranging 30 consequetive rides since 1990. Too bad its no more for you to experience!
