Pineapple bun with tomato and eggs
Irene L.

This spot is great for Asian style bread and classic Cantonese bake goods. The service is descent and they have pineapple buns with tomatoes and eggs. It sounds strange but this combo is very good. The warm pineapple bun with raw tomato and scrambled eggs is so good. Savory and sweet. I also buy the white square breads here. Taste way better than wonder bread.

Char Siu Bao - aka - roast pork bun - not good (left half uneaten)

I like the VIP coffee by Bay Parkway & 65th... perhaps less claustrophobic?? Idk... this location needs so much work. The space doesn't work, it's overcrowded by their own design! They placed a giant center island leaving literally a single file space for customers to come in and out. Their baos are on the right, hot food offerings such as fried noodles, congee and tea eggs on the left. They have 4 steel tables for anyone wishing to stay... but the tables are sooooo dirty! Crumbs, food stain and just kind of gross. While I appreciate that they try to mimic Lily Bloom - their seats are mighty uncomfortable. The garbage can is always over flooded... resulting in spilled tea, coffee... ugh. I tried their Char Siu Bao, Mini bor law yao and milk tea. The Char Siu Bao was terrible, it was sour... not sure why... because it should be sweet. The mini bor law yao was not very good either, the top stayed crispy; while the bun itself was not soft. The milk tea was OK. Overall, not my fav bakery. Lily Bloom has them beat!

Lemon bun ($1.30); egg tarts ($1.10/ea OR 2 for $2)

This place is my usual chinese bakery i go to for the AM. I do question their sanitation practices. The lady at the cashier wears the most atrocious, worn out, torn gloves and resumes to touch things and then count cash! This bothered me and I don't speak Chinese so I could not say anything...This place has what I like but now I'm a little weary about buying anything here. They do wear masks but wearing gloves that look 3 wks old doesn't help the situation. If the owner of this joint is reading this, please instruct your workers to wash their hands rather than wearing gloves and spreading god knows what around! If this changes, I do not mind their selections. FYI, don't get the red bean (swirl) bun. It is not so great!

This place definitely lives up to the hype! The food here is amazing, and when I say food, I mean…read moremore than just the baked goods. Starting off with the baked goods, the brown butter corn cake may be the single best pastry I've had in my life. It has a great crispy exterior and a super moist and decadent interior that just makes it the best pastry you could ever ask for. I also think they have one of the best chocolate chip cookies in the city, and their cinnamon roll is light yet executed perfectly. In addition to their pastries, their sandwiches are amazing. My favorite is this chili crisp tofu sandwich. It is packed with great flavor, perfectly tender tofu, and is layered between two pieces of delicious bread. I also love their arugula burrata prosciutto sandwich that is paired so nicely with their focaccia, making each bite the ultimate experience. While I've never waited in a really long line, I can say that they do move pretty efficiently. Unfortunately, there isn't much room to eat inside, but on a nice day, if you can grab a table outdoors, it's a great experience in the lovely Greenpoint neighborhood.

Great great bakery and all the workers were so nice. You don't really eat inside and have tables…read moreoutside Tried the prosciutto burrata sandwich and the tofu sandwich. There was basil in the first sandwich that cuts through the fattiness of the meat and cheese which was great. The second sandwich had this spicy sesame sauce which was so good - was not expecting to like the tofu one that much. Brown butter corn bread was the most moist one I've ever had and the top was so crispy. Rhubarb pastry was good but nothing special - didn't taste the rhubarb.

Radio Bakery is a very popular bakery in Brooklyn. This has been my second time and each time there…read morewas a line outside, however it moves quickly and the space inside is very small. Even though there is a line, you do not feel rushed or pressured to order quickly. On this visit we ordered plain croissant, chocolate croissant-fresh out of the oven, rhubarb croissant, black forest pastry and brown butter corn cake. The chocolate croissant was amazing. It is triple chocolate and cocoa powder is in the dough. It is filled with milk and dark chocolate, so creamy. The plain croissant was flaky and light. The brown butter corn cake was crispy and caramelized on the outside and soft and moist. The Black Forest croissant is a seasonal offering. It is made with their Triple Chocolate Croissant filled with chocolate cake and sour cherries and topped with mascarpone cream , Rhubarb & Custard Croissant . It is tart and sweet. The rhubarb is roasted and complimented with sweet vanilla custard. They all were excellent. Each were about $8. Highly recommend and don't let the line deter you .

It's also difficult to see all the items since everyone is packed in a line even when you get into the store. The food itself: - cardamom bun was yummy, a bit too cardamom forward though. 3.5/5 - the pb and J croissant was cool, a bit too rich for my liking but I admire how different it was and I actually had to save this one for the next day and it was still good so 4/5
