Friendly staff, clean and my nails came out great! They were able to fit me and a friend in for a last minute pedicure.

First of all, I have to say how kind and loving and sweet everyone at Vip Nails spa is Karen and May Edward and Anna and Anh are all very kind, caring people who do an exceptionally great job with Nails and with everything to do with Nails. I do, however, need to mention two individuals who are extremely rude and mean to both me and to Edward. Victoria and Phoebe took it upon themselves to be rude to Edward and kept demanding that he keep redoing the older woman in her late 60s toenails and they were being condescending and rude to him. The daughter Phoebe made a rude motion about waxing to me it appears that they're both very insecure women. Please do yourself a favor. If you have to deal with these two women don't even give them any power over you because they're clearly abusive. read more

We went in prior to our rehearsal dinner to get our nails done. My husband and I both got spa pedicures, I got a gel manicure, and he got his hands cleaned up. Our nail techs were absolutely amazing! My nails came out amazing and I got many many compliments on them the day of my wedding. Edward was my technician and was funny and cracking jokes throughout the whole experience. I definitely felt like I had been going there for years. If this place was closer to home I would be a regular customer! So sad they are on the other side of the state! read more

The technicians have all been friendly and skilled, and it's one of those places you go and feel like everyone is in it together (but if you want to stare at your phone instead no one bats an eye). Its one of my mom and my favorite ways to treat ourselves to a lovely afternoon together. I had a manicure and I brought my friend from Iowa in for a pedicure. I had a gel manicure and my friend, a regular pedicure. I was thrilled with my gel manicure and it lasted more than two weeks. Guess I could tell you that it was absolutely perfect. What I can't remember, is the name of the manicurist. I can tell you that she put a little flower on each of my fourth fingers and it was so adorable. I'm a senior citizen, so this was my very first nail art experience. If you go here do not ask for Edward! I have gone here now a couple of times and was looking forward to this being my go to nail salon since I moved. I went to get my gel x nails done here and got them done by Edward. I loved them they were perfect. 3 days later they are cracking and my thumb nail snapped in half. I've been getting my nails done for a couple years now and have only ever had this happen once. I called and explained the situation and they told me to come in right away. When I get there I showed Edward my nails and he kind of acts like it's no big deal. He begins fixing my nails. My pinky nail had a chip at the top and he just painted over it and didn't bother filling the huge crater in my nail. He rushed doing them and at the end they did not match my other nails at all. Lastly when I pointed out the cracks in my nail and explained that's how my thumb one snapped off he just said I'll put a top coat on it. When in reality it was the acrylic cracking and a top coat wasn't going to stop that from snapping. At the end he said rudely I'll give you this for free this time. If my nails are breaking 3 days in I'd expect it to be free. Extremely poor customer service from Edward but the rest of the staff is excellent. I will not be coming here again. There is a much better nail salon just down the street from this one called Sky Nails. I highly recommend that one. read more

Not a great experience for my daughters, 8 and 9 yrs old. They found the pedis an manis to be too harsh at times, with towels and rocks that felt much too hot for their skin, and too aggressive with some of the tools as well as the way they held their hands while working on them. The outcome was not well done- polish still on their skin, etc. Also one of the male technicians picked my daughter up when placing her into a mani chair which was very uncomfortable for her since she is not a toddler or very young child. My other daughter also didn't appreciate being called "baby" and her nails were criticized. Overall very disappointing nting read more

I've gone to this nail salon twice now for dip nails and I've really liked my nails both times. The two technicians take their time and do a full manicure (which many places skimp on when a person gets dip) and my nails have been the perfect length and thickness for me (not too thin to where they crack easily and not thick and bulky). They have a nice selection of dip colors. There's a sign that says "Tips in cash are appreciated" (or something to that affect). The only thing missing is the wine lol (which it is possible that they have but they did not offer me a rink and I didn't ask for one either) read more

Must bring cash!!! I really enjoy the pedicures, service and staff. What i do not love is the fact that Credit Cards or debit cards are no longer accepted. The owner installed a cash machine and if you don't have cash, you are asked to use the cash machine to pay the bill. read more

Nothing luxurious. Went for a gel manicure and had a crack in one of my nails and the technician put some glue on and went ahead with the manicure. Less than a week later my nail was cracked even more in the middle of my thumb, leading to a painful break. read more

I had a horrible experience here with the male technician, Edward. From other reviews, it seems like this isn't his first time being called out for his rude behavior. Something needs to change. I'm from out of town and here, and I saw this salon had a high rating, so I decided to check it out. I have an important event this weekend (which I let Edward know), so I wanted my nails to look nice. I came in asking for dip with a french tip design. I wanted brown tips. I showed him a picture of what I wanted. Edward had convinced to to do regular acrylic, even though I typically get dip done. When I noticed the nail samples that show the dip colors didn't have brown, I inquired to see if maybe I could do a gel color instead on top. He said sure and brought a few colors over. He showed me two colors that are not brown. One was black, the other was gray. I was willing to let go of getting brown tips, since it was a color they did not have. I ended up picking a color I was happy with and handed to Edward. I had to wash my hands since the base of the acrylic was done. When I come back, he has a different color than the one I had picked out, and I kindly asked what happened to my other color. This is where he started to have an attitude. He said I could not use the color I picked out because it wasn't a gel color, which I did not know because he didn't inform me it was a regular polish. He then picks out yet another color that is very bright and not what I was looking for. I kindly decline the color and he snaps and says "I don't know what you're looking for, I show you all of these colors and you don't like anything." I was really taken aback by this outburst from him. It was very unprofessional and childish. I took the blame (like it was my fault that the regular and gel polishes were mixed in and he didn't inform me the color I chose was not gel). I chose another color and he begins to do my nails. Again, I asked for French tips (and showed a picture of what I wanted). He does my first few of the nails, and I notice that almost half of my nails were painted, when I only wanted the tips. I figured I would say something early so he didn't have to redo everything. I pointed out how two of my nails on my left hand looked great, could he model tips on my right hand based off of those. He brushes off my feedback and continues to do my nails. I said to him again that I felt like the color was coming too far down. He was about to put the top coat on and I stop him and let him know that the nails do not reflect the style I asked for. He starts snapping and yelling at me in a way I have never been yelled at before at a business before. He starts saying "I'm not perfect, I am only going to get it right 90% of the time" and I let him know I wasn't expecting perfection, but the nails on one of my hands clearly did not match the other. He kept saying "I'm not a machine." and I let him know, this is why I tried to stop him earlier so he didn't have to redo my entire hand. He continues to rant, saying "I've done this for 20 years, I know what's right" I was his first client at 10am, so there is no excuse for rushed, poor work. I really wish I took a picture of the hideous, unsatisfactory nails he did. They looked like a 10 year old did them. He even snapped at his own co-worker! When the other nail tech, Karen, came over to look at my nails he goes "Karen, NO!" I was so shocked that he think it's okay to talk to his co workers and customers like this. He was not going to fix my nails and I was very close to crying. He then starts to insult me saying I don't know up from down and how to give feedback. It was a very humiliating experience. Karen ended up redoing my nails and thank goodness she did. She was very professional, focused and informative. She did an amazing job and she really saved the day. Edward is easily the most unprofessionaland untalented nail tech I have ever had do my nails. If you do go to the salon, I highly recommend going to Karen and staying far away from Edward. read more

This salon was amazing. Exceeded my expectations and did my nails with detail, patience, and grace. I will only be going to this salon when visiting home. OMG I love this place!!! The guy who did my nails is a GEM. He knew exactly how to save the day (and my nails) and he's sooooo funny and great to talk to! My nails lasted much longer than normal and they looked so good!! And it was such a good price I think I gave him a 70% tip because that's literally how much I was expecting to pay - without the tip. Booked an appointment for mani-pedis for myself and my daughter. They were running behind and they had me soak my feet for 30 minutes! It wouldn't have been that bad had they not ignored me. No one told me a thing and when I asked at 15 minutes the woman who started on my daughter said "couple minutes". And to top it off the results were mediocre. read more

Not good. I got dip, $40-45+tip ($45 for me even though I just got it on my natural nails), which lasted 3 days before chipping. My hands were not soaked in warm water prior to drilling my cuticles, nor were they pushed back. The entire process took an hour and a half and I had my hands under the UV lights for 10+ minutes before I got an ice cold damp cloth and lotion massage. I was giving VIP a third chance, since moving from Amherst, figured the Northampton location could be better. Looks like I'll be traveling back to Amherst for my nails. read more

Followed both Ken and Mae here as they have been my go-to nail techs for 6 years now. The shop is very clean and on the smaller side, which makes for a more relaxing and personal experience. Prices are competitive with other nail salons I've been to. They have a very wide color selection with many different types of polish, regular and gel color. I usually let Ken pick for me and I've never been disappointed with his work. My mother goes to Mae who also does impeccable nails. We travel an extra 35 minutes from our last shop just go to this shop and see them. If you need nails book an appointment with either and you'll be very satisfied! read more

Not impressed with the outcome. I received a gift certificate for VIP Nails, and went for the first time last week. As soon as I left, I realized my nail polish coats were not even; there was a noticeable gap between where the polish color and the top coat ended. I did not have time to go back and have it fixed. Five days later, my polish is cracking and chipped. I did not go for the gel manicure, however, I have never had regular polish chip off so easily. Toe polish got squished back the next day when I wore sneakers, so also a waste there. The technicians were very friendly, I will give them that, but I most likely will not return again. read more

I had my third pedicure today at VIP nails. I love this nail salon! I've had pedicures and manicures with Tarika, and with Karen, the owner. They are meticulously careful and do great work. Today my friend had a pedicure with Desiree, who also did a wonderful job. The atmosphere in the salon is very friendly and fun, and they are open on Sundays as well as Monday through Saturday. You get a hot stone massage with your pedicure which not everywhere gives you and the girls are sooo nice and personable. I noticed they really know their customers and their customers love them.
