Not super happy with the service today, and in the past. Before the winter got cold, I inquired about why my car was having a hard time starting, and sometimes didn't start in the cold. They looked at my car, and said it would be fine. They said my battery was in tip top shape. Two months later in the cold, it didn't start, and I couldn't make it to school. Turned out to be weak battery, and the starter. Things I feel they shouldn't have overlooked. Just now, I called inquiring about state inspections. I say I am coming right now to get it inspected, they say that's fine. I get here, and they say there is five hour delay to get my car inspected today. I have class, that wouldn't work for me. I wish they would've mentioned that before I wasted my time driving over. I'm sick of this, and them. Unless I have to I won't be coming back. read more

Came in for a tire rotation. Talked me into an oil change too. Price was fair so waived the rotation fee. Picked up the car.... noticed tires weren't rotated. Went back in and asked. Had to look it up and got the "oh by the way we didn't as you need two new front tires." Why didn't you call and tell me that when you had my car? Ordered two to be serviced later that week. Four days later my coolant light goes on... I got an oil change the levels were supposed to be checked so I called them up. We can't be sure why your coolant light is on so it'll be $175 for a diagnostic test. So I go and buy some additional coolant and have somebody that I know put a little bit of it in and lo and behold, the light goes off.. needless to say I never went back for the two new tires. We were traveling through Maine with a large motorcoach and a tow dolly. The tow dolly tire punctured and shredded on the Maine Turnpike VIP was able mount and balance new tires in a few hours once I presented them with the wheels. Arnold and team were excellent and said exactly what was going to happen and it did. Other tire stores in the area put me out days which was not going to work. As a business owner I was impressed with the attitude and customer service at the Saco VIP location. read more

My son's car broke down on the highway as he was coming to join us on our beach vacation. I called several garages to see if they would take it that same day as it was nearly the end of our vacation. Maggie from VIP was the only one willing to take it. A few hours later she called to tell us the engine would have to be replaced. My son had been driving it without any oil. We had no choice but to call someone to take it for parts. Eric at VIP was kind enough to let the car stay there for a few days until that person could come get it. It was not how we pictured the end of our vacation but Maggie and Eric really helped us out. read more

I've never had such a poor experience getting my car serviced. Had an appointment at 9 am for a tire change and waited just about two hours. A gentleman came in at 10 with no appointment for the same service and was finished before me. I'm not sure how I was pushed to the side but I was very dissatisfied with the wait time and service. i took my car here after it started to drive weird (grinding on pedal). they tried to get me to fix damage on the control arm for more than a grand and kindly offered me discounts and credit card options. after discussing it with my father, i had the vehicle towed to a mechanic that my family uses and was told there was only cosmetic damage to it and it was simply the brakes which had to be rebuilt. after fixing the brakes the vehicle drove fine for much longer afterwards. difference in price was about 1300 to 350 pricey, but worth the excellent customer service! :-) read more

Love this place! The staff is amazing. Friendly and respectful. They are also willing to help and get the best price possible. I'm usually here for an oil change. In addition to the oil change, they also do an overall check of your car. In the waiting room, you can watch what is happening to your car. If you ever need your tires checked or need air, they refuse to take any tips unlike other places. Just pull up and they will take good care of your shiny toy. Stay away far far away. These guys can't even gap a spark plug. $275 service and $87 in parts. 6 plugs gapped wrong and 2 plugs put in right out of the box completely closed. Rookie mistakes even HS kid wouldn't make. They won't stand by their work so now I'm off to small claims court. Stay away, far far away !! Had to give 1 star but that's BS Company stood by their products and refunded the parts and labor. I am impressed with their active response. Everybody has a bad day now and then. My wife has a 2005 VW Beetle and took it to VIP Saco for an inspection. The inspection discovered a tail light out which the crooked technician said he could change for $150. I you tubed it and it took 5 minutes and an $8 bulb. The guy had the nerve of saying it is real difficult as you need to go through the trunk. I popped off the access with a screwdriver, took off a hold down screw, popped the whole light out and changed the bulb in 5 minutes. Lying, cheating , scum. If the guy said $50 Ok. read more

Wonderful experience! Jessica and the team were truly professional, helpful and got the job done. Especially during that insane crunch time when the entire state of Maine is switching out their summer tires. Here's the story, I bought a set of winter wheels and tires second hand (craigslist). They were after market tires but fit my particular model of vehicle. I went to Tire Warehouse to have them put on and as soon as I got on the highway the car started to shake like crazy! NO ONE from that place let me know that I should have bought these little rings that close the gap between the hub and the wheel... Seriously??!!! I had no idea, I'm a new driver and this was news to me. I finally found VIP in town and they got me in fast despite EVERY SINGLE tire place being booked till the next month. Jessica was super patient with me and explained why these rings help, and even took the time to explain what happens even if I don't get and how the car is effected. I had to get the wheels aligned and balance until the rings came in. Also Jessica is so knowledgeable about all things car and has so much experience! We (me, husband, 20 month old)lost a serpentine belt on our borrowed vehicle while leaving our hotel in OOB on a Sunday. Ron and Maggie were incredibly understanding in accommodating, knowing we had a 4 hour drive with a toddler ahead of us. They had us diagnosed, repaired and on our way in under 2 hours. In mid-July I had to have my car towed to the Saco VIP to have the starter replaced. I picked up the car a couple of days later and drove home. I went to put the window on the drivers' side door down on my way home and it no longer went down automatically. They had to disconnect the battery and it reset all the functions. Later that same day I drove the car through town. As I was driving the car kept hesitating and slightly bucking. I could put my foot on the gas pedal all the way to the floor and got no response from the car. I was close to the Biddeford VIP so I headed there. I walked into the lobby and spoke to the guy at the desk. I explained what was happening. He proceeded to tell me the function of a starter and that what I was describing had nothing to do with it. Something else was wrong with the car. He did not have anyone available to look at it until Monday. He suggested I call Saco VIP and see if they could look at it. He did advise calling a tow truck, which I did. I called AAA and waited outside for 45 minutes to an hour on a hot sticky July day. The tow truck operator arrived, and I explained the situation and what was happening. He thought he knew what the problem was. He got some tools out of his truck and tightened a part in the car that regulates the air flow. He took the car down the street and all was fine with the car. I left VIP and went on with my day. Several weeks went by and I noticed a peculiar noise coming from the car. I did not want to go back to the Saco VIP because of the poor job of putting the parts back in the car after replacing the starter. So, I called the Biddeford VIP and made an appointment. I had to call and cancel the appointment and reschedule for another day the following week. I arrived for my appointment and the same guy as before was at the desk. I told him I was there for my appointment, but he had no record of it. He said that he had been on vacation the previous week and someone else had filled in for him. He asked me what I needed to have done on the car, which I had already explained to the person who I made the appointment with. I told him about the window and the noise the car was now making. Once again, he told me that the noise the car was making had nothing to do with the starter and that something else was wrong. My concern at that point was that something else had not been completed correctly in the car as a result of having the starter replaced but he did not want to listen to what I had to say. I made another appointment for the next day and asked for a couple of other things to be done, tire rotation, oil and air filter change. His response was a small laugh and a slight shake of his head, like I was asking for too much. I decided not to bring my car back to the Biddeford VIP after being treated that way. I made an appointment with the Saco VIP and they fixed the window. I chose to go to a different auto maintenance shop to have my tires rotated and oil changed. I have also made an appointment at a dealership to have the noise that I am now hearing investigated. Saco VIP returned my car to me with the work done sloppy and incomplete. Biddeford VIP has poor customer service, they did not listen to what I had to say, they talked down to me, and they left me sitting in the parking lot for an extended period of time waiting for the tow truck. Someone could have at least come out and looked at it. I should not have been made to feel that it was my fault that my appointment was not properly rescheduled to the next week. read more

Recently had some trouble with my car and tried to fix it myself before going to a garage. After crimping some wires and putting in a new transistor the issue persisted. Brought it here and was told I would be called before any work was done on it. Got a call first thing the next morning saying that it was fixed and all set to get picked up. When I picked it up I asked what the problem was and I was told that two wires weren't "plugged in all the way." So I asked why I was being charged $115 and was told it was a "diagnostic fee." Got charged over a $100 by them to plug in 2 wires. Even if they would've charged me an hour of labor at $55 to plug in the 2 wires that are visible right under the dash I wouldn't care as much. I'll never go here again for anything. Clearly care more about making a quick buck than establishing long term business with customers. read more

Any customer service professional lives by the adage " attitude is everything." I don't think salesperson number 15784 has ever heard that adage. It was bad enough when I showed up for my 9AM appointment and he never made eye contact or acknowledged me while he continued to talk with other employees and on the phone but then when he told me that my car needed work in order to pass inspection, it became apparent that his attitude was not focused on customer service. As I drive a 12 year old car with 93000 miles on it, I was not surprised that work might need to be done. However, his quote of $500 took me a bit a back. When I started to ask questions, he became rude and showed me a disrespectful attitude. When I told him that I was bothered by him treating me rudely, it went downhill rapidly. I took my car, never to return here again. That is a shame because I had tires replaced there and worked with Ellen which is the reason I came back. When another customer in the waiting room commented on how badly that had gone and how outrageous he thought my treatment was, I agreed and said that, if he had been helpful and pleasant instead of rude and disrespectful, I probably would have paid to have the repairs done there. I will go elsewhere and if my car needs to have $500 worth of repairs, I won't be giving that money to this business. I suggest he read his poster in the waiting room about the five ways customers are treated as #1 was sure not followed. He laughed and joked with a young couple so perhaps it's just that he doesn't like dealing with older women alone. That will not be a problem ever again because this older woman will never darken their doorstep again because of how badly I was treated by this local business. read more

So I had my car towed there, when leaving the country I had asked how long i could leave it there and they said there wasnt a specified time period, so I said ok I will be leaving the country so it might be a while and a friend of mine lives in the area so contact him if needs be. My friend went there to try and get it out but needed the title to do so and it was left in the car alone with a couple pairs of the shoes and a sweatshirt, my friend could not find them. So i got back and went there myself and went to the customer service area to ask for the keys, it was nowhere to be found... she told me to go and see if the door was open it might be in there. Went to look, the keys were not in there but the door was open..... no title, most of my things gone! Now here is where it gets interesting, I go back into the store and here was this other female with my sweatshirt on asking if she could help me and also had my keys, at first I wasn't thinking because i did not expect this. Now with all my stuff gone from the car and no title.... what am I to do? read more

The two previous reviews here sound like they were written by the owner. Here is a real review. My son has taken his car there a few times for oil changes and was satisfied with the service. Recently he had a frozen break caliper. VIP said he needed both front and back brakes done plus a new caliper. $1200! Checking with a Subaru dealer in Mass and another repair shop locally we found that work should cost about $750. Took the car to the other shop and they found neither front or back brakes needed replacement, just the caliper and a hose. Stay away from VIP in Saco unless you like paying high prices for unneeded repairs.. read more

I called to make an appointment for sometime in the next week, and luckily they were able to fit me in the same day within a few hours of calling. Once I arrived, they got me in right away while I waited in their waiting area while they rotated the tires and did an oil change. My daughter goes to school in Maine and has been to this VIP several times and has gotten help for them few times with flat repairs always the service was great. recently she needed to return home to vermont for spring break. she told me her steering wheel was shaking and she was afraid her car would not make it home. I had her look at the tires and she saw steel belts coming out the LF tire . I knew that her tires were bad and i had sent two used tires with her that had come off the car a year ago. turns out the other two tires I had sent were one size smaller and the garage said they could not put two different sized tires on the car that it was not legal by Maines rules. I ended up having to purchase a pair of tires. they gave my daughter a really good deal on the tires and got her going on a sunday morning. great service. i had started to be a jerk on the phone when they would not mount my tires that i had sent down ,but they stayed calm and explained things to me and then sold me two tires for a price so low i could not believe it. a pair of tires cost me $111.00 installed and i got my daughter home safe. $111.00 was a small price to pay to get her home safe. the car is a junker just trying to get her through college she is a senior and graduates UNE in may . she will get a new car. my wife took the grand am for a sticker it needed a tie rod end {which Ive done my self many times over the years pretty straight forward;] 290,00 dollars is what they charged for this job, tie rod at oreillys sells for 29,99 they charged her 45,99 which they got at oreillys next door a good mechanic can do this job in 30 minutes. I was purchasing a used car, private sale. The owner and I brought it to VIP Tires & Service for an inspection prior to finalizing the sale. VIP took such good care of me... they went through the vehicle with a fine toothed comb; ultimately failing the vehicle for a Maine state inspection. Fortunately for me, the owner paid to fix what needed repairing, so I bought the car! But, I'm writing here because the staff at VIP was so helpful in this process!! Later that same day, I brought the vehicle back to them because "an idiot light" came on... they stopped what they were doing, looked at my new (to me!) vehicle and it turned out to be a minor, easy fix and I drove away happy. I would suggest that if you are ever in the market for a used vehicle, you should ALWAYS bring it to VIP Tires & Service to be checked out before your make the purchase...it could save you a lot of grief! read more
