After one pretty poor experience, and one marginal experience, I decided to give VIP another another chance. I'm not sure why, but they get one star for being consistent. One tech told me I needed a new engine since my oil was so dirty - apparently he had never seen a diesel engine in a passenger car (diesel oil turns black immediately), another spilled oil all over the underbody splash shield and didn't bother to clean it up, leaving a mess on the driveway. The third strike was refusing to use the manufacturer required oil, because, well who knows. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS CORPORATE GREED!!! I went there out of necessity, and I was FLEECED! I needed ONE brake caliper replaced due to early onset lockup, and was charged $668.98! I am a mechanic by trade, and KNOW what parts cost. From my math, there was a 100%markup on parts, and the Service Writer called me and made me to think the front end of my vehicle was about to fall out. Wanted to replace all the brake hoses, rotors, and brake pads, to the tune of $1,100.00. I instructed them to simply replace the seizing the caliper, and the brake pads on that caliper, which he said were "completely cracked in half" due to the heat, which I doubt due to the short distance I drove after determining the problem. So when I came to pickup the vehicle, I went over the bill with the service Writer, and had him explain each of the charges line by line from his computer. He seemed reluctant to print me my copy first, which after going over my own after picking up the vehicle REALLY PISSED ME OFF! WHAT THE HELL is a "Preventive Maintenance Labor" for $73.00? I was charged 1/2 hour labor to replace the one side of brake pads, which is simply removing them from the defective brake caliper to the new one. So with a $154.00 per hour labor rate, they screwed me $77.00 for that. They bled one brake caliper, but charged me $154.00, the same price as bleeding all 4, and $55.00 for brake fluid, which was probably one cup to replace. In my professional opinion, this was a $300.00 job, at best. I REALLY feel sorry for people who have no mechanic knowledge spending EVEN MORE money, when they call you and scare you into believing their BS assertions of your vehicles issues. I will NEVER come back to this sham business again! read more

I will give it 2 stars because they got me right in and gave the correct diagnosis. I hit a rock and smashed my oil pan and was leaking oil. They wanted to charge me $670 + tax to replace it. I don't mind someone making a fair profit and I suppose defining fair is up for interpretation but come on. I fixed it myself in 45 minutes for less than $100 including 7 qts of oil and an oil filter. Shame on them. read more

Went for an inspection. My vehicle had just passed at another garage, but apparently there is a sticker shortage so I wound up here. There was some rust on my rear door jam but it was in tact with no holes through it. I watched them from the waiting area tug on my bull guard, running boards, and on the door jams as well. The rear door jam separated as a result, and they immediately went on the defensive saying it was separated when I brought it in. I do not recommend! What should have got me by for another year or two is now going to cost me a few hundred dollars to repair. read more

i had my vehicle towed here on a Sunday because it broke down and I needed it ASAP, they told me they would get it in quickly. 6 hours later they closed and hadn't even looked at it yet. I called in the morning and Jon who appeared to be running the show there told me it would be over 2000$ to fix and was a major issue. I called a private mechanic and was able to fix the issue for less then 800$. When I went to VIP to get the keys so I could get it towed to the mechanic, Jon offered to buy my car off me for 800$ making it extremely clear that he was over charging and attempting to rip me off in order to buy my car and sell it for profit. Fortunately the Covid protocols in this facility were up to par so they had a big plexiglass shield at the register ensuring I couldn't make Jon swallow his teeth read more

My husband and I went to VIP for 4 new tires and inspection. The manager, Dan special ordered the tires for us and had them in the store by the time we went in for our appointment. After the inspection, the manager brought us out to the vehicle while it was on the lift (which was really neat!) and showed us the issues with our car. After giving us the details and a the estimate he offered to put our old tires back on the vehicle at no cost so that we could decide if we wanted to keep it or purchase a new vehicle. He also let us bring one of the cars we were trying out to give us advice. After much consideration my husband and I decided to keep our car. We called back and made the appointment and had all of the work done on our car along with the new tires. Thank you for letting us make the decision and helping us every step of the way! This place is horrible I had to get my alternator fixed in September of 2015 it is now April 2016 and the alternator that i had put in my car 7 months ago fully imploded on its self and my car no longer works. The mechanic i took it to says that this is not normal and that this part should have lasted for years. It turns out that an inferior part was used while fixing my car. I am never using this horrible service again if you have a chance go find some place else to get your car fixed. read more

Scam! My first visit here I was pleased with the friendly staff. When I returned for my next oil change, they tried to charge me over $200 for a brake job and an additional $220 for a tie rod (typical useless fee). On the breakdown they listed replacement drums. I don't even have drum brakes!!! I walked out. Five months later I'm only now seeing signs that my brakes need replacing. Won't be going to VIP. read more

NEVER GO HERE! I came in to have my brakes repaired and when i came back to pick up my car, no more than 5 minutes off their lot my entire car started shaking uncontrollably. It happened two other times on my way back home to the point where I had to pull over and call them in which they told me I couldn't come back that day and had to wait until tomorrow morning. The next day I brought it in and when I got it back they said "nothing was wrong". I started to drive it again and it worked perfectly and nothing how it did the other day. They definitely fucked something up while they were working on my brakes, then fixed whatever they messed up, and lied to my face. NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN TO BE LIED TO AND DISRESPECTED. read more

Absolutely awful! Went in and asked for struts/shocks. They said they were ok, but talked me into a new sway bar and links... Also said my rear break light was out. Picked up my car, brought it across the street to Walmart and had to drive it right back! Still making same noise AND the break light was all disassemble!! Next they told me ball joints... But only one side! My mother's car also interestingly needed a rear break lights. Also had a missing nut when tires were done on my mother's car as well. They will try to get money from you and take advantage of people who don't know all about cars! All this and they were 'nice enough' to not charge me for the sway links mentioned above. I recently moved to Maine and took my car into VIP to see what work I needed done for it to pass state inspection. They came back with a list of 8 things they said I needed totaling $1200. I thought that seemed high so I went someplace else for a second opinion. Without telling them what VIP said I asked for the same inspection. They came back with a list of one thing that needed to be done, and another that would not prevent me from getting a sticker but that they said I should get done. So instead of paying VIP $1200 I'm paying their competitor less than a quarter of that. Stay away from VIP. read more

This review can only reflect on the employee who did the work on my car and I would describe as CARELESS and UNFOCUSED. Great characteristics you want from the person working on your car (said with sarcasm). The weekend after Thanksgiving I had made an appointment for VIP to swap my winter tires on. At the same time I needed a headlight put in that I had just purchased from them. They offer a viewing window into the garage from the waiting area. The gentleman working on my car had worked on it before more than once. I've since learned his name is Dustin. I watched him carelessly throw my old tires to the side, crashing into my new, unpackaged headlight bulb, sending it flying to the floor. He waited for his supervisor to walk by a short time later and mentioned the bulb was on the floor and he didn't know how it got there. The supervisor picked it up and inspected it. This bulb was put in my car eventually. The amount of time I was there was 2 hrs. 2 HOURS! for a tire swap and balance. During this time I watched Dustin talk to his supervisor about his paycheck and then conduct a pow-wow behind his supervisors back with some of the other employees talking about their recent paychecks and how he was feeling shorted. I felt this was an inappropriate time to be talking about this and was leaving him very unfocused. Needless to say, not the quality standard of service I was expecting and this was not the first time I felt this way watching this gentleman work on my car. Hate to single him out but I feel things won't improve without awareness. read more
