I went there a few days ago and purchased 4 new Goodyear tires. As I left, and jumped on 95 south I noticed my vehicle was shaking. Made an online appointment three days in advance for an inspection and to wait onsite. Received confirmation and reminder emails. Drove over to be told that they did not have appointment in computer and they could not help me until afternoon. I showed my emails and they would not offer any solution accept leave my vehicle for the day or come back four hours later. It's too bad because I would have bought tires and brakes from them. I would not go here again if my life depended on it! I came in to make an appointment for a few days later. I go to drop the car off and they say they don't have me in the system but they'll fit me in. I say I work nearby and get out at 11pm and I'll walk over to get the car so can I pay ahead of time or can they send me a link to pay and they say yes they can send me a link. They did not get to service my car, which is no problem, I get it, days are busy and whatever. BUT they did not call me or text me or tell me, so when I walked to go get it in the dark when I got out of work, it was locked and the keys were inside the building. They were already closed, and there was no communication to me so I was stranded without my car in the middle of the night. Terrible service, thankfully they didn't charge me for the service they didn't do. Don't go here unless you want to leave your car and your safety up to chance, -100/10. If I could give zero stars I would. Completely unacceptable. A phone call would have prevented this, but clearly they were too busy to call me and arrange for me to not have to walk over in the pitch black night for no reason. read more

Have been a solid customer for years. Went in today to get some air in my tire. Pulled up to the bay door checked inside to make sure I was not blocking anyone in then went inside to ask an assistant to help me. The guy at the counter JD then told me that I needed to not park there until i came in to ask for help incase there was a car inside. Second time hes been short with me. I find him very rude and am now no longer a customer. Not a good way to talk to someone JD. read more

I came here for an oil change and it was the best car service I've ever had. I travel all over the country for work, and despite knowing that I wouldn't be back anytime soon, and didn't plan to do any maintenance with them at this time, they took the time to look over everything and go over the condition of car and recommended maintenance for the future. They weren't pushy or trying to sell anything and were extremely knowledgeable and honest. I will absolutely come back here when I'm back in Maine, and recommend this place to everyone. In mid-July I had to have my car towed to the Saco VIP to have the starter replaced. I picked up the car a couple of days later and drove home. I went to put the window on the drivers' side door down on my way home and it no longer went down automatically. They had to disconnect the battery and it reset all the functions. Later that same day I drove the car through town. As I was driving the car kept hesitating and slightly bucking. I could put my foot on the gas pedal all the way to the floor and got no response from the car. I was close to the Biddeford VIP so I headed there. I walked into the lobby and spoke to the guy at the desk. I explained what was happening. He proceeded to tell me the function of a starter and that what I was describing had nothing to do with it. Something else was wrong with the car. He did not have anyone available to look at it until Monday. He suggested I call Saco VIP and see if they could look at it. He did advise calling a tow truck, which I did. I called AAA and waited outside for 45 minutes to an hour on a hot sticky July day. The tow truck operator arrived, and I explained the situation and what was happening. He thought he knew what the problem was. He got some tools out of his truck and tightened a part in the car that regulates the air flow. He took the car down the street and all was fine with the car. I left VIP and went on with my day. Several weeks went by and I noticed a peculiar noise coming from the car. I did not want to go back to the Saco VIP because of the poor job of putting the parts back in the car after replacing the starter. So, I called the Biddeford VIP and made an appointment. I had to call and cancel the appointment and reschedule for another day the following week. I arrived for my appointment and the same guy as before was at the desk. I told him I was there for my appointment, but he had no record of it. He said that he had been on vacation the previous week and someone else had filled in for him. He asked me what I needed to have done on the car, which I had already explained to the person who I made the appointment with. I told him about the window and the noise the car was now making. Once again, he told me that the noise the car was making had nothing to do with the starter and that something else was wrong. My concern at that point was that something else had not been completed correctly in the car as a result of having the starter replaced but he did not want to listen to what I had to say. I made another appointment for the next day and asked for a couple of other things to be done, tire rotation, oil and air filter change. His response was a small laugh and a slight shake of his head, like I was asking for too much. I decided not to bring my car back to the Biddeford VIP after being treated that way. I made an appointment with the Saco VIP and they fixed the window. I chose to go to a different auto maintenance shop to have my tires rotated and oil changed. I have also made an appointment at a dealership to have the noise that I am now hearing investigated. Saco VIP returned my car to me with the work done sloppy and incomplete. Biddeford VIP has poor customer service, they did not listen to what I had to say, they talked down to me, and they left me sitting in the parking lot for an extended period of time waiting for the tow truck. Someone could have at least come out and looked at it. I should not have been made to feel that it was my fault that my appointment was not properly rescheduled to the next week. read more

They walked me through their selection of tires, recommended which ones were best, and changed them there on the spot. I wanted to share my experience and hopefully save someone else the frustration I'm going through. Last week I took my car to VIp in Biddeford because I was getting a slight hesitation when leaving traffic lights or getting on the highway. I explained that I needed the car to be as sound as possible because at the end of the week we would be living in it. Nothing we did house is being sold and rentals are hard to find with dogs. VIP runs a diagnostic and compression test said I needed a tune up that there was a misfire in cylinder 4 and strongly recommended I replace the timing belt and water pump. I say go ahead because I want my family to have something reliable. I pick up the car at the end of the day get on the highway and it immediately does the same thing only worse. Didn't even make it to Kennebunk and the car started to overheat. It never over heated before. I pull over and call them. They tell me to drive it back. I let it cool actually several times and limp it back to them. They say there was an air bubble in the cooling system and now the misfire is in cylinder one. Not sure how that happened . I bring it back the next day so they can figure it out. I get a call about two hours later telling me they have tested it for an hour and nothing is wrong. I say It drives like shit now yes there is . Fine they will keep looking. Hours pass and the manager calls. He states he has personally taken it on the highway and driven it 70 nothing is wrong.i pick up the car and the first thing I noticed my seat isn't moved. I'm short the manager is large no way would nhe have fit. Milage and gas haven't changed. Get home and pull the SD card from the dash cam and the car was driven by a mechanic to Walmart and back while he swore about the car being fine. Pissed we call cooperate in Auburn. They want to look at it in Saco. Saco says looks like a blown engine that there is no compression in cylinder 1. They will fix it. District manager says they will get us a rental. No rental comes we are told not to drive the car. It will be fixed the next day. We get a motel room in Saco because now we no longer have a home to go back to . I sit in Saco s lot in 90 degree heat with my animals waiting for them to come fix my car. I sit from 7:30 till 3. The manager that oversees all of Maine arrives with a check for 1300 what I paid for the repair. He says no rental. I can either take the check OR they will take the car to Auburn and fix it there it will be days. Where my family goes is not his problem. Its not his fault my family is now homeless. No it's not his fault we are homeless but it is his fault we no longer have a car to stay in. . All they did from the beginning was lie. From management to shop workers. Is living in a car ideal? Hell no it's not but it sure beats not having a car to live in . read more

I brought my car here for a new sticker and they said I needed a new front end adjustment or something. I was told by a friend that I needed that too. My friend another mechanic told me not to let anyone charge me more than a certain price. This place wanted twice that amount! I said no I will take it somewhere else to fix so the mechanic got mad and had a new kid working with him and told the kid it's your choice if you want to slash the sticker. The kid smiled and slashed it half off ( a lil drunk with pathetic power I think). I drove to another mechanic to be fixed and he told me that was ILLEGAL. They did not finish going thru the car to see anything that was wrong with the car, they stopped at that one thing and then just slashed the sticker. He also told me I should speak with BBB or at least someone there about this. I attempted to, they never called me back. Really concerned huh? Don't go here ever! I visited VIP in Saco on Tuesday February 28, 2017. I needed an inspection on my car. After they took it into the garage a gentleman (Chris I believe was his name) came up to me and stated that "he needed me to look at my car". After going into the garage area he showed my lower control arm bushing was leaking oil. Fair enough. I asked what it was going to cost, they sent me back out to the service desk. The service manager (Scott) added it up as follows. $139.95 for the part and 4 hours labor at $125.00 per hour. Somewhere north of $700.00. I was caught off guard by the amount they quoted and went home without the sticker. I went online and looked at the NAPA website (where they told me they would aquire the part). Low and behold the part was $39.95, $100.00 markup from the price I was quoted. I knew of a local mechanic and they eventually did the work. Total cost: $140.00. How in the world can it go from $700.00 to $140.00? I'm a rational person, they simply were ready to rip me off. I've done most of my repair work at VIP but no more, won't even visit to buy parts anymore. I guess they saw me and "sucker" must have run through their minds. Management had better address this issue or if they have and instructed employees to serve their customers this way, they will be soon out of business. They have forever lost mine. read more

I was on a long road trip with my wife and kids in a rental car. We got a screw in our tire. We needed to be back on the road quickly. We checked with other places that repair tires and they all said we'd have to wait about a half day. But VIP got us back on the road in under 2 hours for the same price. If we lived in Maine we'd definitely use this company again. read more

They're always busy there but the staff are friendly and compotent. Had an alignment that took a few times to get right but the manager took the time to do it himself and got it done. The best thing to do is drop your car off and just pick it up when they're done. read more

been let down too many times to give a good rating..oil change missing a quart of oil,told needed rachet mechanism for emergency break not needed, installed 2 tires and they did not torque the lug nuts to spec, end result six lugs were completely off and two lugs at the end of the stud. read more

I left work early to make my appointment time and arrived ten minutes early to be told that they had no record of my inspection appointment which I had made three days prior. The gentleman behind the counter immediately stared calling other local VIPs since he said that I must have actually made my appointment elsewhere. I showed him Biddeford VIPs number in my phone history and when the local VIPs that he called confirmed that they did not have me in their appointment books he apologized. It was clear that they were very busy and understaffed, but between the man behind the counter and the man working out in the bay they were able to inspect portions of my car in between helping other people and answering the phone. i scheduled an oil change with a very pleasant service guy. when i got to the appointment, i realized i also needed an inspection. they were able to accomodate me at the same time as the oil change. the inspection went well without any exaggerated or inflated suggestions for any maintainence. this station is only 3 miles from my home, clean, and well kept. i will continue to use them.. linda read more

I came in Wednesday 1/3/18 requesting help on changing my headlight as I tried doing it myself but no luck. I was greeted by an older gentleman (I did not catch his name) kept saying I needed an appointment to change the headlight. So I asked when the next available appointment was. He said not today but how's tomorrow afternoon during the blizzard? I said no because of the weather. Why would he try schedule an appointment during bad weather??? So I asked about Friday. .. He said 11am 1/5 so I took that time slot. He asked for my info so i gave him my last name and my car info. He flipped the calendar page to the next page to write it down and then he brushed me away like I wasn't an important customer. I came in friday on time for my appointment .. I approached another old gentleman (Dave) who was much nicer and said there was no appointment made for my car headlight change. . I was surprised but not surprised as how the other guy wasn't nice on Wednesday. While I was talking to Dave, I pointed to him of the older gentleman who supposedly wrote down the appointment ... He saw me and immediately said to Dave that he had to go do some 'stuff' so that guy left but Dave was nice to let me bring my car in and I was out of there in half hour. I didn't see that other guy at all while I was in the waiting room. The other guy needs some manners. I don't think I'll return but kudos to Dave for fixing my car issue. read more

Go elsewhere for inspections and work... I went here in a pinch for an inspection sticker as it was close to overdue. I have a 2012 SUV, very well maintained, fairly new tires and brakes within the last year or so. You can imagine my shock when I received a call from them that my car failed inspection and would need $400.00+ worth of work, on lord knows what. After consulting my father in law and good old google, I could see that not only was this a scam, but the items he said needed fixing would not have made me fail inspection. When I told them I would be taking my car for a 2nd opinion, they said IF I didn't make an appt with VIP to have the items fixed, then I would drive off the lot with a fail sticker. Naturally I lied, and made an appt, just so I could get my car out of there. Took it that day to a local repair place in Biddeford, got my inspection sticker within 15 minutes, car was fine. DO NOT go here and do not be held hostage when they say they have to be the ones to fix it. read more
