My last visit to VIP was for a loud muffler pipe. When they had my Infiniti up on the lift I was invited into the garage to view the problem.The pipe was deemed to corroded to weld and required replacement. I needed a State Inspection done. So as I have done in the last couple of years I went to VIP Tires and Service at 48 Jones Rd. in Milford, NH. I dropped off my 2022 Escape at 8am and went out to breakfast with my girlfriend. A short time later VIP sent me a message saying that my battery test came back "BAD", They even attached a picture of their battery tester display showing the "BAD" results and that it would cost me over $400 for them to do a replacement. I was immediately concerned because not too long ago I had my scheduled maintenance done at my Ford Dealership and nothing was said about my battery being on the verge of needing replacement. I even checked my Scheduled Maintenance report to make sure. So, I called VIP and told them that I would PASS on the battery replacement. Once done with breakfast I went back to get my car, paid the $45 for the Inspection Sticker. As I waited for my receipt the guy told me to "keep an eye on the battery because it is on the verge of failure". I said I would. As I drove away I thought I would go get a second opinion. So, I went to one of the nearby auto part stores and asked them to test my battery; fully intending to purchase a new one and installing it myself. The guy at the part store asked me if I had experienced any problems starting my car, especially since we've been having an extended cold spell here, I said not at all. We went outside, he selected all the appropriate settings on his equipment, making sure to wipe the label on the battery and tested it right in front of me. We both waited for the result and that came back as a healthy "Good Battery". I told him what I had just been told at VIP and he said that because VIP is one of their competitors, that he did not want to say anything bad about them. I respect that, and understand it is good business practice not to bad-mouth the competition. But, he added "maybe they have a new technician and the test was done using the wrong settings on the testing equipment'. He also said that the incorrect setting could have been used in order to get a "BAD" result, especially because they wanted me to see a picture WITH the "BAD" reading on it. I thanked him for his honesty and for taking the time out in the cold and snow to help me. Then I went back home. About an hour later VIP sent me a new message thanking me for stopping by and to make sure to "leave us a review on Google". So, I did. Because of my experience at VIP Tires and Service in Milford today. I will never go back to them for any services. They tried to rip me off and this scam would have been very expensive for me but a great "SALE" for them. I wonder how many people have been affected by this practice at VIP. I'm the owner of a white 2008 jeep Cherokee. VIP has worked on it on several occasions. ( showing its age) My Jeep has been sitting in my driveway for a month waiting to come up with money for the repair of the starter. I had it towed to VIP Milford and they were right up front that they couldn't get to it that day. The following day it was fixed and was quoted a fair price much less than I expected. After going to different places each year for state inspections and basic maintenance, I finally found a place that I can actually go back to & can recommend. They did my inspection, oil change and I hadn't been able to add engine coolant, so they did it for me with stuff I brought from the dealership. This business checks all the boxes and more. Super friendly service, courteous staff, Covid precautions in place, coffee, Wifi, convenient location, etc. Although they accept walk ins I'd recommend making an appointment - shows appreciation for their time as they do yours plus, if they are busy you won't have to wait longer that you need to during a pandemic. "Discount" indeed. You do not get what you do not pay for. Had my vehicle "inspected" there while driving around thinking I'd just get it taken care of quickly, but no. After "inspecting" the car for over an hour I was given a hard time about the tie rods which I knew for a fact were within spec. Had the vehicle inspected by a local, competent garage and we discovered an issue with a control arm which should have been spotted. So not only did VIP try to swindle me out of repairs to parts within spec, they did not do their job right and missed a critical safety issue that in over an hour they should have spotted. I find it interesting that the other 2 reviews are from females. So it doesn't seem like it was just me. I just came from there. If you are a man, the manager will be accommodating. If you are a female, you are S.O.L. apparently they were far too busy to change a headlight bulb. I was told that they are too short staffed for this 60 second task. But the gentleman before me, he was able to help him, and was helpful to the 2 men behind me in line. To the manager on duty, my hope to you is that the Karma bus has your mother, sister, wife/girlfriend and daughter has an issue with their car and are treated with the same dismissal attitude as you were with me. read more

Don't go! This is the second time they've outright lied to us. We brought the car in because we thought there was a nail in the tire. They said they couldn't fix the tire, it was in a bad place, that they would only put new tire on, in fact we would need 4 new tires. Really! We took it to Medlyn Motors down the street because that didn't sound right. Good thing because it was a THUMB TACK that didn't even go through the tire! No charge from Medlyn! They had a great special for half off inspections. We got our cars inspected there and it was quick. Only to find out they gave us the wrong sticker when I went back in after the police said they ripped us off and we should go back. We went back and they said we would now have to pay full price for their error. Which the manager said is due to his new employees not being fully trained. What an awful way to run a business. The only thing I like them for is oil changes car seats windshield wipers and various other small cheep things for my car otherwise the workers half the time have no idea what's wrong with you car and jack up the prices for work done to it and ontop of that most of it is no necessary they just want every last penny more often than not when I get a second opinion VIP is always wrong and a rip off my car has 1000 dollar in damage now because of their false information read more

Don't even bother going here! They lied to us too! We bought 2 tires there and one went flat in 2 days! Recently went back to get a full brake job (watch your quotes and bill, they like to add things to it that they "suggest" you get, but don't need. You have to let them know right away what EXACTLY you want done.) We had an apt. at 9am, dropped the car off and they told us it would be ready by noon. They didn't even bring it in the shop by noon. i went for inspection sticker and was told emissions need to drive 150 miles to reset jeep gr cherokee.so returned and emissions passed so they should have given me my insp/sticker.but the young guy said you need to replace your muffler system from motor all way back tail pipe it has a little tiny pin hole where was welded.i ask how much cost he said $4,372.61 i cant beleive not only did they reject my jeep for emissions witch passed they try to con me to pay $$4,372.61 just to replace muffler.theyre very rude and lie and break weld on your truck to make them more buissness job security to mechanic that knows nothing about automotive.mechanics.i have worked in garages tire shops all my life and at vip milford nh jones rd are the lowest and bigest lies scammers i have ever seen.they allso steal my i phone brand new got for christmas.total losers thiefs lie s they will do anything to get your money at any cost. read more
