Seasonal resident. Was referred by a neighbor here after another shop failed my car on state…read moreinspection for a hole about 1" x 3/4" from corrosion in a rocker panel. That shop had quoted repair at over $5,000. The car was 18 years old at the time so I only expected another 4 + years out of it and I didn't need a restoration. Having done a little body work in my youth, I knew this was a nothing repair to last that long and that the other shop's quote was unrealistic in the extreme given the age/value of the car. I was up front with GTA that another shop failed it and that I was going to repair it myself and how I was going to do it so I would not be hiding anything from them. I made a secure patch with galvanized sheet metal, sheet metal screws, primed and undercoated it just as the previous shop could have. GTA properly passed it as the repair met the requirements they explained to me (structurally sound and not able to leak exhaust gasses). Very on time and prompt too, which I really appreciate as I value my time. When I need repairs I'll bring my vehicles to GTA.

Panicky, I stopped at Medlyn and went inside; I explained the problem and Ed came outside, checked the tires, and put air in all four of them for me. He had the tools needed to remove the caps and did it all cheerfully and kindly. I will continue spreading the good word about this service shop and highly recommend them. I dropped off my 2022 Escape at 8am and went out to breakfast with my girlfriend. A short time later VIP sent me a message saying that my battery test came back "BAD", They even attached a picture of their battery tester display showing the "BAD" results and that it would cost me over $400 for them to do a replacement. I was immediately concerned because not too long ago I had my scheduled maintenance done at my Ford Dealership and nothing was said about my battery being on the verge of needing replacement. I even checked my Scheduled Maintenance report to make sure. So, I called VIP and told them that I would PASS on the battery replacement. Once done with breakfast I went back to get my car, paid the $45 for the Inspection Sticker. As I waited for my receipt the guy told me to "keep an eye on the battery because it is on the verge of failure". I said I would. As I drove away I thought I would go get a second opinion. So, I went to one of the nearby auto part stores and asked them to test my battery; fully intending to purchase a new one and installing it myself. The guy at the part store asked me if I had experienced any problems starting my car, especially since we've been having an extended cold spell here, I said not at all. We went outside, he selected all the appropriate settings on his equipment, making sure to wipe the label on the battery and tested it right in front of me. We both waited for the result and that came back as a healthy "Good Battery". I told him what I had just been told at VIP and he said that because VIP is one of their competitors, that he did not want to say anything bad about them. I respect that, and understand it is good business practice not to bad-mouth the competition. But, he added "maybe they have a new technician and the test was done using the wrong settings on the testing equipment'. He also said that the incorrect setting could have been used in order to get a "BAD" result, especially because they wanted me to see a picture WITH the "BAD" reading on it. I thanked him for his honesty and for taking the time out in the cold and snow to help me. Then I went back home. About an hour later VIP sent me a new message thanking me for stopping by and to make sure to "leave us a review on Google". So, I did. Because of my experience at VIP Tires and Service in Milford today. I will never go back to them for any services. They tried to rip me off and this scam would have been very expensive for me but a great "SALE" for them. I wonder how many people have been affected by this practice at VIP. Don't get scammed or ripped off. I DO NOT RECOMMEND VIP in Milford, NH.

Well I tried to support a local garage that I would have given future business to, since I have an…read moreolder car. However, I was charged $550 for this garage to replace the battery in my car. Since you can pull up to any auto parts store and have your battery and alternator tested for free, I do not see this charge as fair or competitive at all. An hour and a half labor charge to replace a battery totaling $230? Oh and the battery was marked up atleast 100% as well, $274 plus fees. The Advisor, Frank, hurried me thru the check out process because he knew these charges were severely overpriced. Oh and I noticed their billing address was out of state, which means they are probably not too invested in the Milford area. Never again Commonwealth Automotive, you lost a customer. Purchased parts from dealer and they installed it for a very reasonable price. We set up a Sat appt so if they ran into problems they would have time to fix car over weekend and not tie up racks. Jack Hapgood performed miracles on a work vehicle. Running a gardening business gets your car very dirty. Add a 3 year old grandson, and you can imagine the mess. When we pulled his car seat out, I wanted to cry, looking at the leather seats. The car seat has been there for 3 years. It was a mess. Jack got it clean! I don't know what kind of miracle product he used, but it rocks! The FULL large coffee that got spilled a few years ago came out of the carpet, completely! I don't know how he did it, but I am AMAZED at how clean this vehicle is. It was pretty beat up and dirty. It had been neglected for 4 years. Now the old girl looks brand new!
