Weirdest thing this afternoon. Walked into the shop as I have for 2 years to buy a vape. I know what I want and can get in and out in no time. Today, the guy at the counter asked me to "check my backpack at the door". I said no. I'm just going to the counter to buy something. He said "well it's protocol". I quickly and politely said, man I've been in here for years. No one has asked me to "check my backpack at the door". It was on my back. What am I going to steal? Upon paying for the simple transaction the dude says: hey I wasn't profiling you. Did it upset you? I just said whatever man. Ya. That was offensive. The second I walked into the store I was greeted with a smile from Alison. As I passed the counter I was greeted with a smile from Rebecca. At that point Monique walked up to me and asked if I needed help. I told her I had questions about CBD Oil for my arthritis. She is very well informed and eager to continue her education in how well it works. She recommended I try a couple products. So I decided to compare them. Bad thumb joint and bad knee. To the thumb I assigned the "Archipelago Herbal Alchemy." Nice blend of Hawaiian Nut oils, and herbs. The texture was a creamy salve. The scent is a bit like a very mild Tiger Balm. It actually worked fine. I was reminded by my Doctor friend, that though the research isn't in, people seem to think it's working. It you massage a sore area long enough, sometimes that's the reason for the relief. However I made sure I didn't over massage the area, to test the strength of the product. Success for me. Now onto the big hurt, my knee. For that I'm using "MJ4 Meds" stick balm. A high quality stick application like an underarm deodorant. I was impressed at the ease and non-messy application of it. Broad surface just right for a shoulder, Knee, or arm. Packaging was stand out and tasteful. The smell was a pleasant herbal minty freshness. Did it work? So far so good. I am moving with little pain. Just one swipe and I'm out the door. I find with creams, for me they are a little messy after using them. Balms are a little better, but an applicator with these would be the best way to apply it. So I must choose the MJ-4 as best for my needs. All-in-all, I was so happy I can get quality product so close to home, and professional help from the knowledgeable staff. From you accessory needs, to VAPE, to adult needs, I have always been a satisfied customer. I know I can trust them to have my interest in mind. Reminder: You must be 21 for VAPE and Hemp products including pipes, coils etc, and 18 for the adult products. I have been a customer at VIP Vape Store since 2013, having spent tons of dollars there during that 10 year period. I felt disgusted and disappointed by how they terribly treated me over the past five times I shopped there: You see they supposedly offer a reward program, stating that if one purchases their very expensive vape juice 10 times, they get $10 off! Beginning five times ago, I went there and mentioned that since this was my 10th time buying the vape juice, I am entitled to their guaranteed discount! But to my surprise, the person in charge there, said" "I am sorry this is only your 9th time. The next time you come to purchase vape juice, you will get that discount"! I let it go, but then the same EXACT thing happened over the NEXT FOUR TIMES I went there, including tonight, when the person in charge yet once again, told me it will be the NEXT time you get that discount, since this one's in only your 9th time! Then she immediately and repeatedly urged me to buy one more vape juice, to get that discount!!! I now believe this is now they try to hard sell people like me to get another vape juice they need. The staff is so great and attentive to customers. They're not just friendly, but they go above and beyond in order to make you feel comfortable in their establishment. They have a crazy wide selection of products that they all seem to be really well versed on. Every time I go in they know exactly what I need and, contrary to what a lot of low reviews state, are privy to the customers budget. They absolutely understand having a low budget, and they always do their best to make it work. Sometimes I come in with questions and they have given me a solution better than I could've ever asked for EVERY SINGLE TIME. I genuinely don't know if the store has changed drastically since those bad reviews were left but I do know that the staff are really well educated and genuinely connect with their customers opposed to just going through the motions. I first gave VIP ONE STAR since I had a horrid experience there. But whatever they have been doing, there new people, new management, hell maybe its me. they now have earned a 5+ star review! Had a crazy experience at this place. Bought some coils... they were the wrong size. So I took the coils back, found out they didn't even carry the ones I needed (it was a new tank so I wasn't sure what I needed either) then... As the guy was putting my tank back together... He dropped the glass and it shattered. Keep in mind that they do not carry the tank I have, so they couldn't even replace the one they just broke. If I were an employee there and I did that to someone, I would have bought/ gave them a new tank or juice right then and there. The only reason this is a semi big deal is because I just bought a RX300 and smok v12 and the device is unusable without the glass to hold the liquid. However, the dude felt bad, I felt bad, so I said it was fine and they said they would order a new one for me. Two days went by and I just decided to get a new tank instead of waiting for the replacement to show up. So I asked if they could just credit the coil refund towards my purchase of a new tank. They hooked it up and I grabbed some juice as well. Oh and this awesome dude Jamie was there when I went in for my refund and he really knows how to talk to people. He is the only reason that this isn't a 4 star review. Thanks Jamie, you're a cool dude and this business is lucky to have you. All in all, good spot. Nice San Rafael smoke shop that is in a very convenient location near the 101 South Freeway entrance and next to Java Detour (my favorite coffee shop). Every time I've been here the staff has always been friendly and helpful. I've found some pretty cool stuff, such as a PokeBall Grinder which I still have and use. The pipes are of very good quality and durable too. I'm still using one that I had bought from here while back. I'll definitely stop by here again sometime. read more

I've always wondered what was in this place when I've driven past it. I finally had the chance to come in here the other day with my friend so she could buy a new vape pen. And sure enough (and just as their name suggests), there are plenty of vape items (juices, devices, etc.) and smokey options to choose from. It almost felt like I was in a store on Haight Street. But what I wasn't expecting was that the other half of the store is devoted to adult videos, erotic toys, and other sexy goodies. I'm no prude, but this is the kind of shop you're more likely to find in North Beach or Amsterdam, and not downtown San Rafael sandwiched between a drive-thru coffee house and an auto body shop. Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging. It's just truly not what I expected. I want to give a special shout-out to the friendly staff. The young man who helped my friend was very helpful and knowledgable of all things vape-related. He didn't make the experience awkward at all.
