Hubs went back to get the much needed deep pressure massage from Jennifer at The Spa Simply Skin. Both Elena and Jennifer were present to greet him. The ambiance of the room was serene as it was before. He keeps telling me about the nice Buddha in the massage room. Jennifer asked if the headrest area was ok was comfortable this time before proceeding. This time she asked about the massage pressure and if it was firm enough. She worked on getting his knots out which was greatly needed. She used a tool on his hands up/down his forearm that he said made him feel really good. He does repetitive work with his hands (handy electrician) and this helped relieve tension. I have been going to VIPink Lash Lounge for eyelash extensions for well over a year now and I am very happy with the service provided. They stand by their work and provide high quality service. They make recommendations suitable to your specific needs and results you want to see. (I live in Natomas and drive all the way to Folsom for VIPink Lash Lounge to do my extensions- that speaks for itself.) I went to another salon (a chain) prior to VIPink Lash Lounge and overall was not happy with the service. I am much happier at VIPink Lash Lounge and feel more like a person versus just a number. It's normal to have your natural lashes effected by the extensions, so VIPink sells a lash growth serum that does not effect the glue used with the extensions. So if your natural lashes need some help, I would ask about the lash growth serum they sell. read more

I usually do VersaSpa at Face and Body Emporium but I have never had someone actually spray me. Megan made me feel very comfortable and I asked her about her experience tanning plus size bodies and she assured me she had all the right poses for me. Keeping it real, this is something I always wondered when thinking about going to a person versus doing it myself or in the VersaSpa. I wanted the tan line so I wore cute bottoms for the tan. I asked her to go as dark as we could, I went with the tan that gradually gets darker over time versus the makeup "boost" tan. She also asked if I wanted to do my face which was great as I generally don't like to tan my face, a personal preference through my own spray tan experience. Ladies and gentlemen....this was the best experience I could have and 100% am returning to my new addiction! 5/5 for my new habit... To end this beauty day with a bang I have included my before and after makeup shots. Hazel was very professional and we chatted while she made me over. I asked for drama and she delivered! I've never gotten any kind of tattoo before, but she provided me with pre-procedure tips ahead of the appointment. Paperworks/forms to fill out before. The first hour was mapping out my brows to get the perfect shape and measurements, which I approved before continuing. The outlining was the part that hurt the most, but after that, the numbing cream kicked in and the rest of the time wasn't bad at all. She selected a mixture of espresso and blackish-brown pigment for my hair color. It went by smoothly, with the chill music I could almost fall asleep. Took home two complimentary protective visors (for showering) and a small pot of Skin Candy Monodose Balm. Aftercare information also given regarding what to expect Day 1 (bold), Day 2-7 (bold, dark, thick), Day 8-14 (peeling, light, patchy), Week 3-4 (patchy), and after touch up. Signs and symptoms of infection also described. Instructions for gently washing brows (Cetaphil)/ointment (Aquaphor), tips during healing/peeling stage, what to avoid within 7 days post-procedure (makeup, water, sweating), and what to avoid within 30 days post-procedure (sun, Botox, peels). Basically what to do and what not to do. Touch-up appointment scheduled for 6 weeks out from original visit, then should only need to return annually. Note that this is NOT microblading. Skintastik's advanced treatments intrigued me so I decided to try the ultrasonic facial. It's definitely different than a typical facial. Overall, it felt like a clinical procedure. There was a lack of relaxing elements (no massage for shoulders/arms, scrub, or mask). And I had to wear a metal bracelet to ground me so that I wouldn't be electrocuted! First, my face was cleansed with two different products. Then the esthetician exfoliated my skin using a machine that releases low frequency ultrasound waves. Next she applied a couple of more products and did extractions. Finally, she used another gadget to stimulate my skin with an electric current. After the facial, my skin felt very soft. It didn't have that shiny clean look that sometimes occurs with facials. Nor did my face look red and irritated. My skin didn't look much different, although it felt different. The website recommends a series of 6-12 treatments to obtain optimal results. I'm happy with the facial. But considering that each ultrasonic facial costs $140, I doubt that I will complete a series. **** Update: As I mentioned above, my face felt very soft after the facial. A week later, my skin still feels the same way. Hooray for technology!
