Here for my monthly tasting since I'm a club member good choices this month. I'm trying to become a wine snob...:::

Always packed but great food and service. Make a reservation for weekend evenings if you don't want to wait long. The wine bar was packed on a Friday night but the drinks came at a decent time, as well as the food. Fresh and flavorful but more on the saltier side for the steak. Broad menu if you can't decide what to order, get the create your own!

The environment here is great. Beautiful inside, and if you like wine plenty of options. The reason I am dropping my rating considerably is I was totally unaware of how bad the sodium is on most entrees. For example, simple fish and chips is one of the worst offenders! 5,500mg is sodium! It should come with a high sodium warning as that's more than twice the daily limit

Last night, we went to Cooper's Hawk for dinner on Valentine's Day. My wife had the crusted mahi, while I had shrimp and scallops over risotto. My dish was just okay--not well-seasoned and lacking in flavor. The food was cooked adequately, and the staff and waitress were great. The issue we had was with the mahi. It was a large piece of fish, but my wife didn't care for its flavor, so she gave me a good portion of it. As I started to eat what she gave me, I noticed that the fish did not pull apart like other fish. We have tuna at least weekly, but we always buy the wild-caught variety. About halfway through the portion my wife gave me, I began having flashbacks of turkey (pescatarian for going on 15 years). As I continued to eat, the aftertaste and smell intensified, and I was once again reminded of turkey. By the end of the piece, I was convinced it was turkey. I spoke with the waitress, who assured me that Cooper's Hawk does not serve turkey. The only other conclusion I could draw is that this was some kind of modified fish--GMO, possibly "Frankenfish." I've heard people say that you can hardly tell the difference while eating certain modified foods. Well, this piece of mahi looked like, tasted like, smelled like, cut like, and had an aftertaste like turkey. My personal cake. I'll stop there.

Wine? Phenomenal. Food. Okay. Went there for dinner and it took 1 hour to make the gnocchi. Can't really go wrong with the wine there but I think the bar and apps are the best move.

I had a great evening at Coopers Hawk. We started with drinks. I had the strawberry mule and my date had the espresso martini. I wished I got a regular mule to be honest because there was so much strawberry puree in it. If you like sweet drinks, you'd like that one. I got the regular Moscow mule and it was delicious. The bread that came out was so good too. It was pretzel bread with butter. We added some salt to it and it was perfect. We started with the tuna sashimi, which was perfect. The key is to add the sauce over the top of it all before trying to grab it with the chopsticks. If you try to pick it up without the sauce, the tuna sticks to the plate and everything falls off. You want the sauce though. It's definitely WAY better with it. Even though it's good on its own. I wished we had more. :D By the way, our server was great. I wish I wrote her name down. She was really sweet. I also liked the little decorations and items for purchase at the front. The candles smelled so good! I ordered the grilled churrasco steak and man it was top tier. My date tried it and said it was the best thing he's had in awhile. I agree. It was so tender and juicy. I got it medium rare and in my opinion, that's the way to go. I loved the roasted veg and fries with it too. We were so full after this, you had to roll us out. We definitely will come back because my date was so jealous of my dish LOL!

This visit was wonderful as always. We did a quick wine tasting in the main room (I highly recommend the sweet wine tasting) and then went over to the bar area, which was clean and well lit. Turns out that it was happy hour, and our server gave us information on all of their favorite appetizers, which was extremely helpful. I ended up getting the Barbacoa quesadilla and my friend got the salmon spread. The Barbacoa quesadilla was a perfect portion size for my dinner because it was stuffed with meat. The salmon appetizer was absolutely delicious and refreshing. If you are not very hungry do not look past this one. It was great! We had some Prosecco for the happy hour special and I believe it was $8 dollars a drink. Not bad!

Same, great Coop's standard here! The hubs and I stopped in for a first time visit while in the area and enjoyed happy hour with drinks and bites at the bar. I also grabbed the wine of the month and a few bottles to go because -- members get it! The chicken potstickers, barbacoa quesadillas, and smashed sliders were all tasty. We also ventured from our usual wine selections and tried the cocktails today. The bee's knees and nightjar old fashioned hit the spot. All in all, I've got yet another fabulous Coop's location and visit under my belt. Cheers!

We went here for my fiancés birthday and it felt very special! Has a casual yet high end ambiance, not too loud or quiet. The wasabi mashed potatoes were delicious. Get the pear martini!!! I usually try different drinks at restaurants but I got two of those. Brianna was our server and she was an absolute gem, very attentive, helpful with recommendations. The pretzel bread was also awesome. The risotto was a lil watery but still tasty. I would def come back and recommend this place.

We had such a delicious meal and wonderful experience here! It was an impromptu date night but ended up being such a delight. We will be adding it to our date night rotation for sure!!! Our server was so personable and funny. She suggested wonderful options as well!

While in town for the Norfolk Waterfront Jazz Festival, we decided upon Cooper's. It was a very nicely decorated restaurant and it was very spacious and inviting. We did not choose to partake in the wine tasting, but it was very popular with other guests. Devon, our server was very polite and informative. It wasn't his fault, but he was pretty overwhelmed with the amount of tables he was serving. He did a great job, but it stood some time for him to bring things back we requested, but other than that, the service he provided was good!!

The service was extremely slow but the server was super nice and was doing the best she could and she managed multiple tables as the restaraunt was super busy. The food was decent - The ambiance is casual simple in the dinner area perfect for friend and family gatherings. I did not get a chance to experience the winery portion to do wine tastings but will be back to give it a try as well as their brunch

My friends and I met at Cooper's for a quick dinner. They have memberships which get perks like monthly wine samplings, private tastings, desserts, 2 bottles of wine monthly, and etc. So for a wine lover it seems like a great deal!!! When you walk in they have wine related items for sale, like glasses, cork screws, coasters, and etc. They also had a tasty looking assortment of truffles that I couldn't take my eyes off of. Lol. My sweet tooth has a mind of its own. We were seated after a short wait, and our waiter Samuel gave us some recommendations. He was very honest and I appreciated his friendly and kind personality!! He was very attentive and kept our glasses refilled without having to hunt him down. He gets 5 stars for his service!! The pretzel bread they give you with butter is complementary, and was good. Although it was good, you have to put your back into it to cut it. I thought the bread was going to sling shot off the table and hit someone at another table. So I took my time. Lol. I ordered the Chicken Madeira with broccolini and Betty's potatoes. I was happy they let me substitute with no problems. The chicken was tasty, the gravy had a sweet taste to it which threw me off at first, but it wasn't bad. The potatoes were good. You definitely will have to use salt and pepper to adjust the flavor to your liking. The broccolini was sent back and replaced with broccoli. It was very tough to cut and chew. The broccoli was better. Samuel was very nice about making the change. My friends had gnocchi and salmon. Their food looked good, and they seemed happy with what they got. I liked the ambiance of the restaurant. My only complaint is the tiny tables. Even for a party of 3 it was tight. The table was full with just the bread and our waters. If your a large party it may be a little complicated. But it wasn't a big deal, we made it work. I think it's a nice restaurant with a decent amount of menu options to choose from. There's plenty of parking, and it's clean inside. Definitely check them out!!

Wine is made on site in the distillery and she has been in business for 8 years. We visited on a Saturday and there was a couple of vendors on site selling merchandise. 5 bucks for 6 samples is definitely reasonable. We were the only patrons for much of our visit. My birthday daughter and I ordered wine sample flights and chatted up the owner. Wife shopped the gift area and picked out a nice bauble. The good: the owner was very engaging and told us about the wines (and wine slushies) they offer. We asked where the grapes came from and she explained that some came from Chile, some from California (I believe) and other places, and that she blends them here. (This would be expected with no attached vineyard.) The place was very clean, and the restrooms were easily accessible and spacious. The price of the flights was a mere $5 for six communion cup sized samples -- you choose 6 of I guess 12 - 15. Mulled wine is a welcome option on a winter day. The disappointing: While there is a good assortment of wines, and many were on the good side of okay, none stood out and said BUY A BOTTLE OF ME. The fruity sweet wines were VERY sweet, not really good for dessert wine or sipping. (Sorry.) But again, the reds especially were drinkable and pleasant. Verdict: a good stop if you need a break and a glass or two to go with your conversation. Just don't set expectations too high and you'll be fine.

I went with a couple of friends around 5:45 and it was packed, but luckily people were leaving as we arrived so we were able to grab a spot. It was a little too chilly to sit outside, but they do have additional seating and I'd definitely sit out there when it's warmer. The food was great. I got the kimchi hot dog and loved it. The brioche bun really stood out, and the chili truffle oil fries were amazing. Everything comes out on a cute little tray, which was a nice touch. For my drink, I tried the pickletini. The muffins and sweet potato pastries made by a contestant on Master Chef Junior and the muffins were great. I didn't have the pastries because I don't like sweet potatoes. We were offered a bag with water and a granola bar with brochures for wineries and some for the ones we were going to. The was also a scent bag with soy candle samples from Pink Zebra. They smelled great. Next on the list was gathering the rest of the group for the trip from Norfolk. Once we got everyone, we were offered mimosas; candor l cranberry or orange. We chose orange. Deanna introduced herself, daughter, and granddaughter. She also introduced those who she knew who were on the trip. She provided some great historic facts like the origin of witchduck. She discussed the history of Virginia wine and information about Virginia Born presidents. Our first stop was New Kent Winery and our host was great and very polite. It is also my birthday month and have had my eye on this tour for awhile. It was fate! Not knowing what to expect, I jumped the gun and paid immediately. When Rex, the owner, sent the itinerary, I saw 3 local restaurants, Catch 31, Rockefeller's, & Tautogs. My first thoughts were, "I hope this isn't lame...", "I could go to these places myself..." The group met at Virginia Aquarium for an optional tour inside for the first 30mins. I arrived late. Now, I wish I made it on time to hear more about oysters. Rex tried finding the group for me & we walked all around the museum. It was way too crowded, I was late, & didn't mind waiting. Perhaps walkie talkies as a communication tool for the husband & wife team. Not just for late arrivals. :) Could be distracting too but, just a suggestion. The aquarium attendants had no idea who or where the group was. I did appreciate the effort. Not many would help me catch up with group especially, since I was late. Our first stop was Catch 31. Table was set and ready to go. We had three chefs(one including one of our guides, Chef Patrick Evans-Hylton) and the sommelier at our table. They educated us about the oysters & wine. They walked us through the various types of oysters & wine, regions, how to eat, & how to taste. We were served 4 oysters each from one of the 7 regions & two wine tastings. There were condiments and crackers on the table. I thought this was definitely the most informative restaurant out of the three. Next stop was Rockefeller's. Again, tables were set & wine was poured! No menu w/ descriptions. We had 2 raw oysters and 2 oysters rockefeller. Then, we were served hush puppies w/ pimento cheese which were amazing. Last, was coconut cake! This restaurant had more food offerings which was good because after several glasses of wine, I was hungry & others were too!! Last stop was Tautog's. They sat us outside & setup was more buffet style. Glasses of wine were on a table for us to pick up as we walked in. The presentation was beautifully prepared. They had 3 of their house sauces which were delicious! I thought the sauces were needed with these oysters. Others agreed. Didn't taste as fresh as the previous restaurants. I believe they were Lynnhaven and I've had Lynnhaven oysters before. So, not a reflection on the tour. There was also fresh cut fruit on the oyster platters. Only because TT asked, my recommendations would be: * Posting sample itineraries on social media * Clearer description of what to expect with regards to food so people know whether or not they should eat prior to the tour or pack a snack/sandwich. * Website shows they would be "happy to provide water and light snacks." None were offered. * Market/advertise the 10% off Yelp Check-in offer * Advise up front the 10% off Yelp Check-in is NOT valid for the Oyster & Wine tour. A portion of proceeds go towards non-profit which I totally understand & appreciate, just set the expectation. Overall, this was a lovely experience that one can comfortably do solo! I did and I truly enjoyed! Hands down. I am so happy to see a company like this on the East Coast and executing with such class. Please don't think this is a drunken wild party bus. It is a tasteful informative experience with subject matter experts who also enjoy partaking in libations while sharing their knowledge! :) I hope to see more food tours added to their current list. Rex, Lisa, & Chef Patrick were cordial, knowledgable, fun, and professional. Thank you so much for a memorable experience!

We have dined here many times in many different forms. We've attended special wine pairing dinners,…read moredate nights for two, day-time tastings, the yearly warehouse sale, as a guest of large parties, and as a host of large parties. Yiannis always gets it right no matter what is thrown at them. The optional chef's choice offering (similar to Japanese omakase) provides a relaxing, catered-to experience when decision fatigue is high. We love the subtle Greek twist on the dishes, particularly how well it works with the lamb lollipops. While the food is amazing, the incredible service is what keeps us returning. It is always impeccable, with knowledgeable servers and eager sommeliers, and Yiannis himself frequently stopping by. We were even treated to a tour of the kitchen on our first visit. It is this above and beyond attitude that always makes me recommend Yiannis.

I would like to preface this with the fact that we went on a Wednesday night so maybe their weekend…read moredining is better Food: For appetizers we got the mussels. The broth was flat and still had a wine taste to it. When I told the owner, he agreed that the wine taste was overpowering and told me they got a new chef who tried a new recipe and that they will go back to the old recipe. For entrees I got the lamb chops with risotto and she crab soup. The lamb was very tender but the flavor was lacking. It was also luke warm. The she crab soup was good but too salty. The owner also acknowledged that as well. The risotto was okay. Nothing special. My husband got the grilled bronzino and broccolini. I tried some and I liked the taste but he said it could have used more flavor. Broccolini was steamed and I wish they had grilled it instead. The bread pudding was the star of the entire meal. It was made of donuts. It was moist, sweet, and delicious. Drinks: We got a bottle of champagne and two cocktails. Drinks were all very good Service: This is probably why I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 3. The service was very good. First, they called me prior to my reservation and asked if they could pre-chill any wine or champagne for my husband's birthday and I was very appreciative of that. When we got there, our drinks came out a little slow but our waiter comped that immediately. Throughout the night, the owner checked in on us several times and that stood out to me. Overall I will come back once they fix some things with the new chef. Hopefully the food will get better
