Had a opportunity to have a afternoon out at Press 626. This little home turned restaurant is so welcoming. We were warmly greeted as soon as I walked and immediately seated. Our waitress Rachel gave us some wonderful food and wine recommendations. She was so wonderful and attentive! We ordered the pork dumplings that was severed in black vinegar!!!! Oh my goodness sooooo amazing 10/10. We also had the shrimp tempura. Tasty. 8/10. The baked goat cheese with roasted garlic, olives and roasted red pepper , also amazing 10/10. The lamb meatballs 8/10 could use a little spice. I also had the cuban sandwich with fries. The pork was flavorful, bread warm and crunchy. Overall great sandwich 10/10. This week try out something new and different a wine bar like this one it's definitely different where you have more open space for both people that want to dine in solo or as a group. They open at 11am and we went there Tuesday where they have $6 dollars sangria which was a different style of taste had more citrus and light taste not so much of strong deep red wine flavor very light red but sweet and I also learned from my new friend who came to join me that they use there own flavor enhanced that are made from scratch to add a different kind of taste to the drink to make it more handcrafted and unique. Definitely will try that next time I visit. we also did lunch special where you get a half sandwich with a choice of rosemary tots or fries for $11 dollars. She recommended the duck sandwich it's fan favorite at the restaurant from the server who was helping us decide which one is the best. This sandwich was delicious and sweet and savory with full amount of richness to it and to breakthrough was the fig jam absolutely delicious. Unlocked a new version of sandwich and it was worth it the rosemary fries were definitely a showstopper they had both combined flavors of rosemary in a way where it hits your pallet as soon as you taste you get that light taste of rosemary and that classic crispy and airy taste of fries next time I would probably do that combo where you have a salad with the fries and champagne. They also have an event coming up where it course dinner inspired East Asian wine Nov 10th if you need plans this week I would certainly try this and they showcase the menu of what they will be serving throughout the night. But if you can't make it stayed tuned for more events on there site under special events. Not my first time here, but this is one of my favorites when I am visiting near the Chrysler. The place is beautiful and quiet , and nice for a solo lunch or date night. They do amazing events, so I may have to take off early to join in. If you're a wine lover this place is a must. They have a few specials for everyday , happy hour , great wine selection , a very diverse menu. I love the staff there , super friendly and accommodating. I had a GREAT time at 626 Wine Bar! It's been on my list since we moved here two years ago. We came with another couple and made it a double date night :) FOOD: Gosh we ordered SO MANY things. The night we came they had run out of a few things on the menu - idk if that's normal or not - so our choices were a bit slim. We decided just to order several small plates and share it all. The LAMB MEATBALLS were exquisite and juicy. The WARM BEETS & BRUSSELS were surprisingly yummy. I've never had that combination before, but the toasted almonds and the spicy coconut cream really brought the flavors together so well. The CHEAP DATES are wrapped in bacon and placed over blue cheese sauce - I'm not the biggest fan of bacon, so I just took a bite, and the flavors worked well together; I'd never think to wrap a date in bacon. The JUMBO FRIED SHRIMP was one of my favorite dishes, mainly because the breading wasn't thick and crusty like most places. SERVICE: Our server was friendly and suggested many things! The food came out promptly - no complaints there. ATMOSPHERE: Intimate and romantic (if you want it to be). The first floor was all booked up, so they offered to sit us upstairs, which was a great choice. For the last 10 years I have lived only half a mile away but had never been. I am kicking myself in the butt for waiting so long. Let me start with the staff our waiter, Tristan was fantastic. he was very attentive with a great sense of humor, and the host was equally so. They sat us immediately in a quiet area so we could talk and laugh without being drowned out by crowd noise. We went during happy hour and enjoyed the. Blanc de Blanc and the sangria. I love this wine bar, it is unique in the fact that it is housed, and it appears to be a historic home that has been renovated and outfitted to serve as a restaurant. The restaurant is gorgeous and cozy. The staff were friendly and are more than happy to give recommendations based on your personal taste if it is your first time. They offer a lot of tapas it's ball plates, which were delicious. It's a moderately priced restaurant. Happy hour is Mon-Sat, 4-6pm. They have bar seating, about 10 spots with good amount of seating inside with a few options right outside on the porch. It's a huge white building on the corner, across from the hospital. ALSO, it's a VIBE when you get in here! The music is on point - when I was here recently, they played SZA's entire album. My go to is the Cheap Date, it comes on a bed of blue cheese (mind you, I don't care for blue cheese) and I was surprised how everything paired. The sweetness of the dates, the Smokey bacon, and the sour taste of blue cheese married well. Wine choices are immense & the staff are incredibly knowledgeable of the wine menu. Ask what wine pairs with whichever dish and you won't be disappointed. The burger is great - no complaints. The duck grilled cheese is award winning but it wasn't my favorite. All seafood I've had here is done right. My new favorite is the gnocchi w/ shrimp. Parking was a little difficult if you didn't know the area. There is street parking in some neighborhoods if the free parking behind the restaurant is filled. I am very disappointed with the experience I had last night with a group of mom friends . We booked a reservation 1.5 months ago to enjoy an intimate Mother's Day dinner out together. I ordered a $125 bottle of wine from Bordeaux, France for the table to share with our meal and was not able to finish it or enjoy more of it (we had to cork it) because we were rushed out to leave: "there is another reservation for this table at 7:45" (although by That time the rest of the tables in the room were completely empty! ) What if we wanted to keep ordering desert? (Potential extra revenue lost ) For a place like this and for the group we had, you order a table for the night. Also, my 8oz filet mignon was an uneven cook (one of the higher cost meals on the menu) , but because we were constantly told "there's another reservation for this table at 7:45" I felt I had to eat it as is. The waitress asked more "are you finished" questions with our food (feeling rushed) than "How is your food" Completely unacceptable service for a place and meal like this, especially when all the other tables around us were completely unoccupied! It is sad, because Press 626 did not used to be this way, and the service and quality of the food has declined. I will not be going back and will advise those looking for a nice quality, intimate, and leisurely meal in the 757 area to stay away. Do better. read more

I'm not sure what awards the sandwich has actually won, but it's completely Legit in my book, and completely delicious! I've been here once and the cheesecake I had from them was mid for how seriously over priced it was, I also live next door to them and their customers park in our reserved parking for our apartment complex all the time but they towed my car for being "illegally parked in their parking lot" and "blocking an entrance" which was just plain incorrect as where I was parked is not an entrance or exit to either the wine bar or the apartment complex, not to mention I've parked there many times before when their customers have overfilled our reserved parking and experienced no issues, On top of that their customers parallel park in the actual entrance/exit to their establishment on the regular without repercussion. My family and I went here for my birthday lunch and it was incredible! I loved the homey cozy feel and the decorations. Each person we interacted with were super friendly and made us feel special. One person made conversation and even let us know about some upcoming special events. All of the food was delicious! Each one of us picked an appetizer to share and were not disappointed. I could tell each dish had a lot of thought put into it. My favorite was the "cheap date" which were bacon wrapped dates. The last time I had something similar was during a recent trip to Arizona, so now I know where to go when I'm craving it. I came here with a group of 7 people for a surprise birthday for one of our friends. I called ahead about storing an ice cream cake and they were so accommodating about it. Fun fact: they have a cake cutting fee of $2 per person. It was well worth the surprise - the perfect touch to the end of the dinner. But I wouldn't dare end there...the dinner itself was perfection. They had an elaborate cocktail menu, a vast selection of wines, and a short but diverse seasonal menu for food. I came in for a solo lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was quiet since it was a Thursday afternoon. I chose to order the lunch sandwich combo and opted for the duck breast grilled cheese. When we walked in, the restaurant was close to empty, however it filled up very quickly as we enjoyed our time. They did a fantastic job with decor, ambience and presentation. Each room is adorable, especially their upstairs lounge/seating area. I also immediately noticed how friendly each staff member was. They all go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.. almost as if you are their specific guest. On to drinks; I tried their white wine flight, which was $15 during happy hour. I love a good wine flight, so enjoyed this.. but did feel that the chosen wines were far too close in dimension. There wasn't a whole lot of variation. I also felt that the printed paper was a bit tacky in a place this nice... a place created around wine. I would say that a better presentation of the flights would be incredible. My friend got the Press Punch. It was good. I like that they rotate the option and would be excited to try it again next time. Food; everything was great. Surprisingly, the charred edamame was my favorite thing that we ordered. Only $6, but a great portion and super flavorful. I also got the "wine poached shrimp"... not impressed. The menu description makes it sound like an exciting, unique option... but it was just basic shrimp cocktail. I even asked the server about it and she described it as warm, which made me expect something much different. The lamb meatballs however... delicious!
