I usually don't go out to eat Indian food because no one here knows how to make good Indian food. Why the hell is that!! I tried this place out with some colleagues and itwasgood. Went for the buffet and everything tasted so good. So many options and so filling. I couldn't move after. They were pretty good about refilling the buffet food. About the food: do NOT forget the bread pakora. Definitely don't miss the sweet and spicy chutneys. The buffet had vegetarian, chicken and lamb as curry options. They seemed a little stingy with naan, which needs to be ordered separately. But enjoy the food About the service: I see some reviews saying that the servers are rude. I didn't find that to be the case at all. It's not that they're rude, they're just normal. They don't come up to you as soon as you sit down, introduce themselves and keep returning to your table every 5mins to check on you. You will be seated and water will be refilled if you're doing buffet. No other flowery nonsense. Can't wait to go back!! read more

Solid Indian choice, very good service, plenty of meat in the curries, great assortment and quality of breads. They lean a little bit light on spice, so if you like it hot, make that clear to them. Another AMAZING Indian buffet for cheap. $12.00 Yes please! Buffet had some traditional and some not so traditional items which were a very yummy surprise. Today had a paneer chili which was incredible! I cant wait to go back just for that! Garlic Nan was a tad salty but fresh and good. I did not see any fish or seafood offerings on the buffet - just chicken, goat, and vegetarian. Service was attentive as well. It is hard to find good Indian restaurants in Boston-- and I typically avoid Indian restaurants, especially buffets, but Virsa is an exception. Whether you go for the Ala carte menu or the buffet, the food is quite authentic and as good as you will get in the Boston area. The buffet at Virsa is definitely a step up compared to other Indian buffets in the area (and slightly pricier, but you get what you pay for). You get freshly made naan with your buffet and it's quite good. I took one star off because sometimes the salad vegetables aren't as fresh. read more

Not going back. Multiple reasons: 1. They have not taken down "Buffet" sign from outside the restaurant. Covid has been going for more than 2+ years. If you don't have buffet, don't do the click bait. 2. Chicken Tikka Masala seemed boiled. No flavor - lots of red color! The new management seems to be from South India and doesn't know how to do north indian flavor, forget Punjabi dishes. 3. Not even basic service manners of getting water in a timely fashion. Playing vulgar indian songs loudly on TV - not a great place to bring young kids. 4. Tokri chat was basically few pieces of papri chat and not even the right chutneys. Summary - disaster food and even worse service. People say Holi in Bedford is 1000 times better. Now I know why. read more

Had the buffet on Thursday. There was a wide variety of dishes. Each one was spiced exceptionally well, and all of the Indian flavors were recognizable. The greet at the door was very respectable. The service is attentive and starts with a complementary appetizer. Every dish has wonderful flavors and this restaurant is definitely one of my favorites, not just in the Bedford area (I live in Cambridge). I was in town on a Friday night with an early flight the next day and wanted something more than the usual sandwiches or fast foods. This restaurant filled the bill nicely. I found the service friendly and attentive and the food well made and flavorful. They have a full bar and s good selection of both domestic tap and bottled beers as well as several Indian beers. While I was looking the menu over they brought an appetizer of seasoned fried potatoes. These were hot and delicious and went well with the three relishes/sauces also offered. I ordered the goat curry and some garlic naan. I can't speak for the buffet since I was there in the evening when all dishes are a la carte, but I found my meal well seasoned and flavorful. I had ordered medium spice and found it good, but not hot at all. The naan was fresh and hot and slathered in garlic. My curry was accompanied by rice. (For those who have not had goat before, it is a delicious meat, though it almost always has some bones mixed into the stew meat, so some caution is advised.) As I was waiting for the check they brought a very nice small sweet rice pudding. Unlike one of the other reviewers I found my serving of curry to be generous enough that even stuffing myself I couldn't quite finish it. I also found the price reasonable for the quality of the food and service. This isn't fast food, it's way better, and should cost more. I travel to Bedford several times each year and will definately stop in here again. read more

The chicken tikka Marsala was so so so yummy. The rice was cooked and seasoned perfectly. However, I wish they would give individual boxes of rice when multiple orders are placed instead of making you share the box of rice with someone else who ordered lunch with you. The food is delicious but way too expensive. We got three vegetarian entrees, one chicken entree, and naan. Our total came to 90 dollars. I did not realize how much of a rip off it was until I got home. Being in the restaurant industry myself, I understand the price of food (particularly meat) has increased during these times, but considering one item was meat based we feel completely ripped off. Holy buffet Batman! Highly recommend Came here for lunch recently and wow it was so good! For lunch they have a large buffet with so many options. The veggie pakora was some of the best I've had in New England and the paneer tikka masala was so so yummy. Nice big chunks of paI had some of the chicken masala (I think) and the chicken was cooked so perfectly. It was amazingly tender and spiced very well. They had a wide range of veg and meat dishes and the dessert options were very yummy. I especially loved the rice pudding - tasted just like the kind I had at a cooking class in India (was there a hint of saffron?). The only drawback for me was the naan. It was good - but not great. When I return I'll see if they have a different bread option (puri hopefully!) UPDATE - the naan was so so good this time around! Not sure if they've changed the recipe or preparation or what but it was so fluffy and delicious. This is now easily a five star lunch. read more

The cool, creamy RAITA, is fabulous! Fresh, hot (garlicky) buttered Naan, delivered to your table, almost immediately. Hot, spicy tea and (cold) soda is also available. Nice wait staff. This place has a great lunch buffet. It has a decent selection for vegetarian and meat options. Typically has 3-4 meat and 3-4 veg curries, couple rice dishes , veggies (eg samosas/pakoras) and dessert. Curries vary depend on the day. The quality of the curry is very decent, spicy but not very hot (you can ask for hot pepper sauce if you want to kick it up a notch). The buffet comes with fresh naan, which is a must have for me. Sometimes it's hard to get more naan when it's super busy but it's fresh so I'm ok with it. I have to warn that during the daily lunch rush this place is swamped. I would recommend getting here before 12 or after 1 to avoid the worst of it. Price is reasonable for lunch and the service can get a little overwhelmed at times, but they have a good thing going. I'm giving them 5, as I feel they have the best Indian buffet in the area. I have never been here for dinner. read more

We took Matthew A's advice and ate lunch here today. This restaurant is located in a strip mall in Bedford, MA. We knew it was going to be good when we saw the parking lot was totally full and the restaurant was filled with Americans of Indian decent. The atmosphere can be described as "total chaos." People were coming and going, kids were running around, and the staff was in panic mode. The windows and doors had fingerprints all over them, probably from the children. Overall cleanliness was average, nothing to be concerned about. Most everyone had the buffet and the food quality varied from average to outstanding. The really great dishes were the chicken and paneer dishes. The daal was also especially good from a flavor perspective, as were all four of the deserts. I thought they did a noteworthy job on the chicken tikka masala. It was very traditional and done exceptionally well. The saag had an odd taste that almost tasted like it was burned. The fish was cold and dry. It is extremely difficult to serve good fish in a buffet setting. The nice thing about a buffet is you can get a "test plate" with a spoonful of each to determine what's good and what's not before you load up your second plate. Overall this was a good restaurant and we will definitely return. read more

So good! Huge improvement since it originally opened and I'm glad we gave it another try. Now we are regulars. The korma dishes are delicious, the bindi (okra) is tasty, the saag (spinach) is great, and the Kali Mirch Ka Tikka is fantastic- so moist and succulent. The veggie samosa has a spicy kick to it and it's better than the meat version which is good but a bit dry. Overall, excellent. Just make sure your take out order is correct before you leave because I've caught an error before. We all are human and it hasn't happened again. read more

WITNESSED PERSONALLY that they recycle the condiments (three sauces) that are served on the table in the three section bowl. I watched the server clear a table and dump the remainders back in the big containers to clearly be re-used **gag** Not to mention the incredible health risks associated with this decision, it's cheap, and an absolute health code violation. I was appalled and immediately called the Bedford board of health to complain and tbh they didn't sound too surprised to be receiving a complaint about this place.
