This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a nail salon. And it quickly reminded me of why I don't go to regular nail salons anymore, I only do private visits. I am only giving them one star because I absolutely have to. First of all, when I walked in there I was not greeted I went in for a simple repair on ONE nail. I didn't think I would be waiting there for a whole hour before I was seen. I spent time picking a color to match my other nails and still got the wrong color. When the nail tech noticed that it didn't match the rest she couldn't care less and continued. Second of all, I had to tell her about THREE times that the one she was "fixing" did not match in length or shape, not to mention it was extremely thick. She completely disregarded me and continued. I was visibly upset and she did not care to try to correct this AT ALL. Third of all, I hate going to nail salons like that because they visibly talk shit about you and they think because you don't speak their language that you don't know what's going on. I'm Nigerian and I too speak a different language and I know when shade is being thrown, period. My only regrets are that I didn't get her name, I sat there and got disrespected and I paid $12 for a terrible repair that wasn't worth $3. Save your time and money. Do not ever go there. read more

I've been to this nail spa many times over the last several years and I'm usually very pleased with their service. However, during my last visit they used a callus remover foot file that scraped the bone on my foot in a couple of places, which bled for quite some time. The woman apologized, but not only did she NOT comp the service, I paid $40/full price for it. I am very disappointed with their customer service. She should've let the manager know and given me the service for free, or at the very least, given me a gift certificate for my next service. read more

I walked in for a pedicure and was hit with the strong fumes of ether! It is toxic to breathe and the places using it are supposed to vent it out well. I feel sorry for the workers in this nail salon especially when TN has such horrible workers comp laws favoring heavily the employer and leaving workers with virtually no protections since they changed the law in 2014. I will not be going into this nail shop ever again. It is shameful that you expose employees AND customers to those fumes! read more

I have natural nails and they file, shape and paint them so well, they look acrylic or dip. Polish lasts me 12 days. Amazing! Good pedicure too. Left my heels smooth. My new favorite spot! read more

I think I've found my place and I'll be back. Reasonable prices, great thorough job, nice massage chairs, clean, and a friendly staff. I really felt like they did a great job with my pedicures and took their time. They offer a drink when you take your seat, have a good amount of polish choices, and while I did wait for a few minutes both times, i was taken to the pedi chair to wait (aka I enjoyed the massage while I waited). They use a plastic cover for the foot bath, which seems much more sanitary than lots of places I've been. The staff was nice, but not chatty -- which is what I want when I go to enjoy some me time. Overall, it's a relaxing and comfortable place that's conveniently located in Nippers. read more

Awful dip manicure! It's WAY too tick, she didn't touch my cuticles, I had nice oval shaped nails before this and now they're fat squares that look like they've been on for over a week. And the dark color I had on before is still all over my hands from where she removed it. Absolutely will not go back. read more

The man who did my nails was very attentive, took care of my cuticles and did a great paint and design job. No chips or anything after 5 days. Looking forward to see how long these can last me! The worst pedicure of my life included being stabbed, drawing blood and walking with a limp for three days. Thankfully, my experience at Virtue was the COMPLETE opposite. I'd passed this place time and time again ever since it inhabited the old liquor store location, but It wasn't until my thoughtful fiance handed me a gift card for a manicure and deluxe spa pedicure that I made an appointment. I went in at 9:30am for an appointment on Friday and was the only one there (not that I'm complaining), although it really picked up within the next hour. It seemed most everyone had appointments, save for the one customer who came in for a mani/pedi and almost left because of how busy it looked. "15 mins!" they said and sure enough, they got her in right away. Impressive. Speaking of impressions, the decor and layout of the place is fantastic. Archways, columns and curtains give it a classy grecian feel while soothing music plays through the speakers. And being offered a beverage while my feet soak in a warm bath of awesome? I was okay with all of this. Overall, very clean (they used two individually wrapped/sanitized sets of tools for my hands and feet), great service AND they have an entire wall of Essie polish (my fave!) I came in 5 minutes before they closed ( I come out of work late) and was afraid I'd be turned away. Much to my surprise, they accepted me and started working on my nails immediately. I ended up getting an acrylic set with the stiletto cut (pointy nails). I absolutely LOVE MY NAILS! They did a black polish with gold ombre and didn't charge me extra for it. The staff was very professional, and they ended up leaving an hour and a half after closing, which I felt bad about. I ended up leaving them a hefty tip, but even with a $7 tip my total came to $40, which is completely reasonable for what I got. Overall, I loved it and will probably be coming back again! read more

I am seen by Nancy every time I come. I get the SNS powder. I call and make a same day appointment and she never fails me. I no longer have to tell her what I like and don't like and she has started pulling colors that she knows I like as well. They offer beverages with all services. The salon is always clean and had such a relaxing ambiance. They have gotten new more comfortable chairs and have now started to offer a rewards program. If I could give zero stars, I would. Absolutely terrible manager and customer service. I called earlier and asked what a shellac manicure and spa pedicure each cost. I was very clear and I know what I asked, because I called a few other salons in the area to inquire about their pricing as well. I was told $35 and $15 respectively. I was impressed that the pedicure would only be $15 and I decided to try them. When I went to check out they said no $28 for the pedicure (that a regular manicure cost $15) and that I misunderstood. No, I did not misunderstand. I asked specifically what a spa pedicure would cost. The manager did not do anything to fix his misinformation. He treated me like I was in the wrong and gave major attitude when I questioned his customer service and ethics as a business owner. He said "If you can find a pedicure around here for $15 I'll charge you $15." What a rude person. English is not his first language and he definitely misinformed me. I feel absolutely taken advantage of and bullied into paying more then what I was told over the phone. Building a good business rapport is clearly not a priority. To whom this may concern: I left your establishment after having my feet soak for ONE hour. No one addressed me to let me know that I was next or 3rd or 5th. However, I noticed at least 3 other people who came in AFTER me who were seated, soaked and waited on in a decent amount of time. Got a classic pedicure. Never offered myself or my two daughters a drink. Literally rubbed a sore on my foot with the pumice stone, it was bleeding. Asked her to file one of my nails a little bit, instead she trimmed it making it too short which now hurts. Then left without putting my flip flops on. Definitely will not return. read more

I've come here a handful of times and I'm never disappointed for my pedicures. Massage chairs are great compared to other places (big deal for me). Never had to wait more than 10 mins as a walk in even on the weekends. Good prices- $30-35 for a basic mani. Worth it for the quality. read more

Appointments? Don't waste your phone call. I called and scheduled 2 appointments for 3:30 today. We arrived at 3:25 and told them we had appointments at 3:30. They said it would be a few minutes. At 3:40, we were put in pedicure chairs with water, but no one actually started a pedicure. At 3:47, someone came and started on my daughter's pedicure. At 4:00, I reminded them we had 3:30 appointments and asked how much longer before someone would start mine. "Just a few more minutes" was the answer. I watched people come in after us and be served as I sat there waiting well past my appointment time. Finally, at 4:10, as I sat with my feet in now cold water, someone came and started my pedicure. 45 minutes after we arrived and 40 minutes past my appointment time. My pedicure and gel manicure are both good, hence the 3 stars even though I was fuming when they started. While I was having my services done, I heard another customer leave due to them running past her appointment time as well. If I hadn't needed my nails done for a wedding, I would have walked out when they were 15 minutes past my appointment time. If they aren't willing to honor appointment times, they shouldn't take appointments. It's as simple as that. read more

Be QUIET! This place does good work (manicures, pedicures, etc), but part of the point of going to a SPA is to relax. I even went during the week in the morning and still the staff would not stop yammering to each other. Just be quiet. Not only is it rude to speak another language in front of someone who doesn't understand, but it's rude to just go on and on and on when all I want is peace and quiet. I went in on a late Tuesday afternoon, and by 4pm it was getting busy, but the wait even then was only 15 minutes.
