This nail shop sucks! They are rude and unprofessional. I have been back twice since originally going on Friday, so yeah that's 3 times over the course of 5 days. My dip nails that cost $60 were popping off like press-ons. The lady who fixed my 4 nails that popped off had two other workers come & they proceeded to talk in a foreign language while pointing at my fingers. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I decided to go to this spa because I pass it nearly every day to work. On the plus side, there was absolutely no wait. Also, I really appreciated how the technician didn't try to force a conversation with me, as I personally don't like making small talk at the salon and it was obvious he noticed that and respected it. He did continuously ask how I liked what he was doing and if it hurt at any point, etc. The service was nice. However, I went into the salon for solar nails, which I've heard many great things about. I went to the website for this salon and they said they had solar nails for $40, which I thought was reasonable. When I got there, I told the technician that's what he wanted. At first, he didn't understand and asked me to repeat. When I did, he said he understood and began to get to work. It was my fault for not double checking when he started doing work but he really didn't know what solar nails were and instead gave me the basic pink and white ($10 more and not as long lasting). It's a bit frustrating when services and prices are posted and people don't even know what those are. That aside, the salon was very clean, smelled pleasing but not overbearing, and there were a variety of tvs to watch sports or food network or whatever you liked. Not awful but if I go again, I will make sure the technician actually does what I want them to do. read more

This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. I had made an apppint for 7:00, for me and a friend... I arrived early and they would not let me wait for her.... my crappy pedi was done by 6:45 and she never even polished my toes, because she said the polish I chose, which I use everywhere I go "wouldn't look good on me." I usually paint my toes white but I guess she thought that wouldn't look good on brown skin. Intact it seemed pretty apparent to me she had a problem with brown skin in general. I asked to speak to the manager and she was completely unapologetic... and charged me full price even though I stopped the service after she did a terrible rush job and insulted me. I went to have my nails done today and tried this salon at the recommendation of a friend. I wish I could tell you the lady who did my pedicure but it was probably one of the best pedicures I've ever had. She did paraffin, hot stones, a mud mask, and was both welcoming, detail oriented, and offered me a beverage multiple times throughout my pedicure. She also gave a wonderful massage!!! I had a gentleman that did my hands and I did the SNS powder, they turned out great! I left feeling like a new woman. I would also like to point out that I really appreciated the cleanliness of the salon, that they open sterile and new equipment for each customer. Just the regular pedicure is sufficient. I don't recommend paying the extra for the "virtue" pedicure with the exfoliant. I come here all of the time. Very reasonable price and good quality every time. The complimentary wine is a nice touch though I usually go in the morning and get some Starbucks. This was the worst. pedicure. EVER! My trusted hairstylist sent me over to Virtue, so I went. Big mistake. First, the chair was taped up, terribly uncomfortable, and the massage function worked only intermittently. Secondly, the tech started the water, immediately left, and didn't come back in time to turn it off. So here I am, sitting in this chair, calling loudly for someone to turn it off. I didn't speak the same language as anyone else in the room, so it was nearly brimming over before someone caught on to the problem and quickly turned it off. (ok, I admit it was a little funny even then, but so unprofessional and careless) The pedicure was painful throughout. The tech did not know what she was doing. She had to redo my polish. And guess what? Now I have two toes in pain and peeling in different spots on my foot. NASTY!!! The last time I had a pedicure at a walk-in place, it was amazing. Fast, friendly, inexpensive, attentive service. The only thing Virtue had in common with that place (it was in Columbus, OH) was the inexpensive part. Never again. read more

I wish I could leave zero stars for the way a nail tech treated me today. First she sat there talking about me and making me uncomfortable with the lady beside her. Throughout the nail application she kept pulling on my hands very aggressively and talking to me like I was an idiot. I was already upset at this point but didn't say anything. I usually tip well but did not feel she deserved a good tip because of how she was acting towards me. Second she over charged me 12 dollars more than what service I asked for was priced at. I asked her what it was for but she responded In a major attitude so I just paid. I sat back down and she was being really aggressive because of the tip I gave her. At this point she was yanking my hands and I was shaking throughout the rest of the polish application. I was so upset I wanted to cry. She yanked my hands so hard that one of my fingernails brushed against the other wet one and she scorned me. She made it seem like it was my fault that I couldn't relax but in reality she was so aggravated that I didn't tip her well for her poor service that she couldn't even focus. I have never physically been manhandled like that after paying $81 for such poor service. I should have left her $0. read more

I moved away from Nashville 15 months ago. I really miss this place. Maleen was always my manicurist. I am not happy with the local nail salon or hairdresser. I live around mostly seniors on limited income and "you get what you pay for". Last time I came to Nashville I had my hair done. I tried to get an appointment with Maleen and she was already booked. I used to rate this salon a 5...but I just left the WORST manicure of my life. Gloopy & bubbly, not smooth at all! Horrible. Embarrassed to admit I actually paid someone to do this! I could have done a better job painting with my left hand (& I'm right-handed). The only reason I'm not rating this a 1 is because they have 2 employees who know how to do nails. Malen (& the guy who wears a hat & chucks). So unless someone you know personally recommends an employee, DON'T trust them! Oct 12 when I first visited this salon I had an amazing nail tech and even rated them with 5 stars. I got a dip set at $45 as listed on the Pamphlet. However the last three times they behaved very underhanded with me by lying about the cost of my service to make money via a tip by charging me $5 extra. Last two times they said it was due to a cut down, but as far as I'm concerned that's only with fake nails. Just a few technicians at this location speak and understand English very well and I am always respectful and patient with sharing with them how I want MY NAILS TO LOOK. I went in today doing NOTHING different and the gentleman says my service is $50. I ask for what, he says for cut down, special this and that...what??!. He then claimed that b/c I wasn't told of the price before they began the work that it was for $50. I had him to pull up my first visit under my customer account showing the charge of $45. Then he claimed it was b/c my nails are long. I showed him a photo of my nails being longer on October 12 than they were today on Dec 6, 18. Just a bunch of lies and changes in the reasons claimed they try to hustle an extra $5 out of you none of which added up and none of what is specified on their literature. Every time I come here I tip however I notice that there is a trend within the Vietnamese culture to take advantage where they can and secondly treat black people with less attention to details than as with their white patrons. I didn't want to take it there but this is what I've noticed in all the years that I've visited nail salons. There is typically a handful who's very great at their work and the other few fly through your service, taking no mind that they are hurting your cuticles by scraping them and or cutting you. I had to make a fuss to not get robbed of my $5 like I was the last two times and the gentleman didn't even have the decency to be patient as I requested a breakdown of the charges. Needless to say it'll be the last time that I visit this location and to top that this won't be the last place I share this review. For the managers your practices are despicable! read more

They will perform services on your nails that you didn't request and when you're ready to pay you will find out that you own them way more than you think. And don't even complaint because the "manager" will tell you "good luck and find somewhere else to go". Unbelievable. They are also VERY rude. Horrible service. Just finished a pedicure & acrylic fill. Came here from my 'regular' place because they have more colored acrylic selection. Paid more than normal ($68) & my nails look sloppy. This is the best place for nails in Middle Tennessee AND for a very reasonable price. I noticed some negative reviews complained about wait times. Unless you call ahead for an appointment, you should expect to wait. However, this reflects the excellent quality of service provided. Virtue Nail Spa stays busy because they provide excellent service for reasonable prices. Typically you can make an appointment for the same or next day. So plan ahead just a little bit! It's worth your time. I also noticed another review stated they were told a pedicure would cost $15. Seriously?! Use some common sense and realize there isn't a shop around that cheap. If there was, you should probably question the quality. I have been a customer for well over 4 years. Even though I have moved to Murfreesboro, I still make the drive atleast once a month. It is worth my time to know my nails will look great, last typically 3 weeks, and not be rushed. The majority of nail technicians have been doing nails for 10 years or more, it's a family run local business, and worth every penny for their excellent work. read more

Virtue is the best! I used to hop around to different places in town for nail services, feeling like they were all pretty similar, until Virtue. I've been going there exclusively for 2 years for my gel manicures, and I refuse to go anywhere else! Their gel manicures stay on so much better... No lifting or chipping even past the 2 week mark!
