First off, this place brings back memories of the old school night/dinner clubs. It's a large room setting with table lights and a nice bar. The service was good especially given the size of the sellout crowd. The food was above average and appropriate given the full capacity eating at the same time. The comedians were excellent! The place is amazing and the service is good, but it's the live shows that keep us coming back. However, don't accept a gift from a friend or family member unless you're willing to spend! What can I say... this place is awesome. If you can catch a Dwight Eisenhower Elvis show, even better. All four of us had steak, three NY strips and a ribeye. They were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The salads and bread are tasty too. Green-bean/carrots and a baked potato were the sides. Everything was cooked perfectly. The service and show were both outstanding. The chocolate mousse and ice cream was good but not as good as the meal. I believe they rotate desserts and I've heard the others are excellent. Can't wait to go back!!! read more

The rating is only because the food was good, although we just had appetizers. Not inexpensive though. My criticism was of the show, for which we paid an additional fee. The warm up comedian was funny, but the headliner, Earthquake, was disappointing. He made a point of facing the back wall and not the audience. His jokes were not all that funny, and he was name dropping other celebrities he's worked with. All while being sarcastic about being here in Port Charlotte. Recently had dinner and a show at Visani. The comedian was ok, the service was as usual, slow, but that's come to be expected, so I don't let that bother me. Cappuccino machine not working (as usual) that's frustrating. Had the salmon rice broccoli, always a decent dish with nice flavor, added a Cesar salad, (tooooo much dressing!) my daughter got the salmon Cesar and her salad was over dressed as well, my friend ordered the chicken Visani and she liked it. The portions are BIG! I did not drink, got iced tea, it tasted fresh and tasty, the bread and herb butter was nice and we did get the calamari appetizer and that was done nice. All in all this place stays consistent and a nice addition to Charlotte county. read more

Visani's was such a fun time on New Year's Eve. They had a complete dinner/dessert with champagne toast at midnight and party favors. The comedian Dean Napalitano (TV star/comedian) was over-the-top crazy-fun! It was extremely busy (full house), and the bartender Lauren worked endlessly making drinks! The manager came around several times to check on us to be sure we were being served our meal/courses. He was extremely nice. The food was really good, we chose the salmon (choices were Chicken Ala Vodka, Prime Rib, Osso Bucco, or Salmon), we also received 5 shrimp cocktail/appetizer and side salad. For dessert they brought out a warm gooey brownie with house made whipped cream, it was delightful. The bread that comes with all dinners there is served warm and is very good. This comedy/dinner venue is really nice! It's small enough that all seats are good but large enough that it feels like something special. It's a must-go if you haven't been here. Always a great time at Visani! This is a one of a kind restaurant in Charlotte County. They combine great entertainment with even better food. Every course is amazing from beginning to end. I have Covid & tried to cancel my tickets/reservations. I even offered instead of a refund-- just credit my account toward another show. it was a hard NO!! This was a premier show where the tickets were $30 apiece. just attended a birthday party for a dear friend in the private dining room at Visani. We had a great time. the service from Sam, Nicole and the manager Loren, was wonderful. There are a ton of restaurants in Port Charlotte, and this is hands-down my #1 favorite. This is the best Italian restaurant in town, disguised as a comedy club. The chicken alla vodka is to die for. They offer fresh homemade pasta (for a bit of an up charge). Ambiance is great for any occasion. The only thing I don't care for is that they have tried to seat us with strangers on occasion. That makes me a bit uncomfortable. But, if I request a private table, they've always accommodated. We've never had bad service either. It's really cool that they get some huge names in comedy to come to our tiny town. Lots of variety in shows, too. Whether you go for a laugh, or just go for a great meal, you won't be disappointed! read more

I come here every time I visit from R.I. The comedians are always great. The food has been really good in the past. Not anymore. 4 of us got the pasta dish with chicken in vodka sauce. We went tonight for our anniversary and the entire experience was absolutely phenomenal. I called earlier and asked about a dish they used to have. The lovely lady "Lauren" had it made for 3 of the 4 people in our party. I was blown away that she proactively called me back and offered that. The dish was truly outstanding, amazing and wonderful!!! Not to mention we live in a time when no one goes the extra mile... I was blown away by the service and especially by Lauren. My daughter and her husband my wife along with myself when to visanti last night and had the time of our lives. The food was to die for my daughter had the pork chop thick and so tinder that you could cut it with a fork, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Son in law had some kind of shrimp plate and noodles which he said us very well done. My wife had filet mignon seared just medium rare and baked potato with broccoli and I had the seafood dish that was 10 rich and flavorful loaded with shrimp scallops mussels and calamari,lots of bread and garlic butter. Then came the show. I don't think my daughter or my wife stopped laughing the whole time. The show was worth the cost of the whole price including the meal which was cheep enough. I will start this review by saying I've NEVER had a bad time at Visani. Laughed my ass off and food is bomb. HOWEVER.... this review is simply about the last visit and the service. We were sat and then sadly we waited almost 20 minutes before my friend got up and went to the front desk to say we've been waiting for that time and no one had come to see us. Makayla was there and took the time out of her tending to her tables to come and take care of us because her section was next to us. She was SO lovely. Once we figured out who our server was, we saw that he was upset with her and having a conversation about it further away. She came over and took our order and we felt better about the situation. But because he wasn't happy about it, he then proceeded to come over and try to take it back. Gave us a poor excuse that he was stuck talking to someone when we knew that wasn't true. I had been watching him the whole time. His name is Alex. This isn't to badmouth but to simply say that how he handled things and how the rest of the night went, with him, was so poorly handled. Makayla did, however, come back a few times just to make sure we were good. And, sadly for Alex, she STILL had to pick up the slack. By the end of the night, had it not been for her, I don't think we would have left feeling the way we did. I just feel that a place that is so wonderful in so many aspects, they should know when there is a serious weak link. All in all, we had a great night and will definitely be back. read more

Excellent experience notwithstanding the circumstances and my saddened mood. Bob chose this place to have a luncheon for mourners after my mother's services at a local Catholic Church. Here are my thoughts: * Excellent and appropriate decor * Their own parking lot around freestanding building, Score! Never a shortage. * The Chicken Marsala was better than expected! * Steak tips with asparagus were delish, too! * Excellent service from our uniformed and professional staff whom are obviously well managed! * No gouging on drinks. I was really impressed that, despite having a big and captive audience of over 110 folks that wanted and needed drinks, this operation didn't charge top shelf or captive prices. Nicely played! * The Cannolis are apparently "authentic" and delish. I didn't try one. This is a A-1 type of operation, and I have a discerning eye. Well done. We were part of a group that came tonight. Dinner was good and entertainment was good. Owner walked around with no face mask along with some wait staff with either no masks or masks not properly worn in the middle of a rise in Covid cases. The owner was rude when we talked to him about our concerns and said that next week none of the staff would be wearing masks and that we could leave-of course that is after they got their money. He obviously doesn't really care about customers except for the money they bring in! Very disappointed! We called to inquire about a dinner only option around 7:15. The hostess on the phone was very friendly. They said they had some tables still available. We arrived 15 minutes later and were seated right away. We weren't in the mood for a show, we just wanted a really good meal. We loved the atmosphere and the more personal experience you get with the dinner only option. We were greeted by Mackenzie our server. She was very welcoming and friendly, and she made great suggestions. She gave us the the Royal treatment. She was also working the larger dining room where the comedy show was, however she still was right there when we needed her! We ordered top shelf long islands that were made perfectly. We chose fried mozzarella and the spicy shrimp as appetizers. They were both great! I really loved the shrimp, it was still crispy yet nicely coated in a spicy sauce. For dinner we opted for the salmon and the filet mignon topped with Marsala sauce and grilled mushrooms with a side of the sea scallops. The flavors were delicious and everything was cooked perfectly. Overall we paid $177, however we truly went all out. They have a good variety of meals in the $16 - $20 range.
