Prices were a lot better than your Lens Crafters or Pearle Vision stores. My appointment was at 3 and they took me at 3:02 so there wasn't a huge wait. Dr. Conrod was extremely personable and polite and explained my many options for eye care. The negative: The tech or whomever that I first saw was really rude and possessed the listening skills of a toddler. If I have to explain to you multiple times in a five minute conversation that I mainly wear glasses and rarely wear contacts and I want to wear contacts daily and use my glasses as a back up, you really are not listening to me at all. It's frustrating to be a new patient with a new provider and have the staff treat you like you're stupid and you wouldn't possibly understand your own eye care or eye health. In a similar vein, the woman at the front desk gave me the fifth degree over my insurance plan, corrected what I said and then ended up being wrong. However she, unlike the tech or whatever, apologized and corrected her mistake. Honestly? LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENTS! If it wasn't for the doctor himself, I would have gone elsewhere. I don't think employees who do an excellent job should receive a poor review because of decisions completely outside of their control. The real reason I'm writing this review, and the true highlight of my visit, was the technician who helped me, Sophia. Sophia was incredibly kind, professional, attentive, patient, and genuinely caring throughout my appointment. She turned what started as an experience that had me frustrated and ready to walk out into one of the best customer service experiences I've had in a very long time. If it hadn't been for her, I honestly don't believe I would have stayed to finish my appointment. I'm not someone who writes reviews. In fact, this is the first review I've ever written. That's how impressed I was with Sophia. Her communication skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to keep me informed every step of the way were exceptional. What impressed me most wasn't just her technical ability, it was her emotional intelligence. She could tell I was frustrated before I had to say much, yet she remained calm, patient, respectful, and reassuring the entire time. She listened to my concerns, answered every question I had, and treated me with genuine empathy. She completely changed the direction of my visit simply by making me feel heard. Sophia never made me feel like I was being helped by "just a technician." She was confident, knowledgeable, and explained every step of the process so well that I felt completely comfortable in her care. If nobody had told me she wasn't the doctor, I never would have questioned it. My frustration wasn't with Sophia, it was with MyEyeDoctor's decision to schedule me with a virtual doctor. Personally, I believe an eye exam is one of the last medical appointments that should be done virtually. Vision care should involve an in-person doctor. After Sophia completed nearly the entire exam, we waited about 20 minutes for the virtual doctor, whose portion of the appointment lasted only about two minutes. She spoke briefly, didn't ask if I had any questions, and disconnected almost immediately. The interaction felt rushed and impersonal, and it simply wasn't the level of care I've come to expect after nearly 15 years as a patient. I can confidently say I will never choose another virtual eye appointment. That being said, employees like Sophia are the reason customers remain loyal. She represented MyEyeDoctor with professionalism, integrity, compassion, and genuine care. She didn't just provide outstanding customer service, she retained a customer. I walked in prepared to leave frustrated and seriously consider finding another provider. I walked out because of Sophia. I sincerely hope someone in management reads this because employees like Sophia deserve to be recognized. Outstanding employees often don't receive the credit they deserve, and I wanted to make sure hers didn't go unnoticed. I've been a MyEyeDoctor patient for nearly 15 years. They called me the day of at 2:30 to see if I could come early so the doc could leave earlier...I thought that was a little unprofessional but ehh. Perhaps I would too if I had a job that allowed something like that. Upon my arrival (at 4 as I couldn't make it earlier), they saw me immediately and even charged me a lower fee as I've had contacts before despite being a first time patient here. That was nice. Doc also gave me an extra "trial" pair of lenses. Always appreciated cause contacts are expensive and my insurance doesn't cover much. Overall, I plan to come back next year for my annual exam/prescription. I don't wear glasses so I can't speak to that. Staff were all friendly and down to earth.

What I didn't like about this office was how much they push sales. When I was getting fitted for glasses I just wanted to get what the insurance would completely pay for-which was one pair of frames on the rack. I didn't want any of the extra add-ons or insurance and even after saying no it was continuously repeated to me. I get that it's their job to sell but if I say I don't want it, I don't want it. I also had retinal imaging done while I was there and I was informed that it wasn't covered by the insurance, it was a $30 charge. I had it done and as I was sitting with the optician my break down of benefits that she had in front of her very clearly stated that retinal imaging was covered under my plan. They still charged me and said that they will bill my insurance for the procedure but it wasn't a covered service. I later spoke to my insurance and they did confirm that the break down of benefits was correct and that I shouldn't have been charged for the imaging. A few days after the appointment I called my insurance to make sure that the retinal imaging was billed, and the office left it off the claim. The office in turn lied when they said they would still bill my insurance. The office staff also gave me a problem when I asked for my pupillary distance and my frame measurements. I understand that they want the patients to order frames through their office, but in the event that I need to replace my glasses, I will not pay the hundreds of dollars when there are much more affordable ones online and a much wide seThe patient has every right to obtain their own information and the office can't withhold it for their own benefit.

She continues to display the utmost professionalism, expertise, honesty, and if needed empathy. We always leave our visit knowing she has the best interest in the well being our vision. Additionally, the staff is and always has been fantastic. "Moddi" continues to be an expert in helping us pick out just the right glasses for our face frame... We were extremely apprehensive to attend our visit during Covid 19, as I am an OSHA Safety Trainer as well as an Educator in Infection Control Practices, I unconsciously watch to see if everyone is following guidelines. Needless to say, this office practice was spot on and received a 100. The door was locked and only patients who had an appointment were allowed to enter. The entire office was immaculate, seats and touch areas were immediately washed after use. Masks all worn properly, hands washed, touch surfaces such as countertops were washed, glasses that were tried on were sanitized, equipment washed in front of us prior to use.
