My last exam was in November 2019. I also had a contact lens exam. I left with a new script for glasses and 3 contact lens scripts. My right eye had 1 script for normal use and 1 for far away ( Concerts, Movies, Tennis etc). I still had lenses from my previous script which I used up probably in February. I did not use my far away right script due to the fact that long range activities were on hold during Covid. I went back to playing tennis and I felt the distance was a little blurry. I also ordered new glasses about a month ago. I received my glasses and noticed my vision was worse then with my previous pair of glasses. I checked both my contact lens and glasses scripts and found both of them to be weaker then my previous scripts. I called Vision Express and asked if they could re check my script. I was told that I would have to pay for a whole new exam. I then went on their website and initiated a complaint to work out a solution. I never received a response back. I then once again left a complaint this time to the downtown office. I once again never received a response. Your eyes are important and I learned my lesson in going to the most reasonable priced place. At the very least I should have received a response back. HORRIBLE PLACE!! I could tell from the second I walked in that this place seemed quite amateur. First of all, aren't health businesses suppose to be wearing masks (front desk reception)? And then I was taken into a small room with the technician before she decided she needed a mask. I didn't necessarily need an eye exam at all, but I have United Healthcare insurance who gives a free exam for eyeglasses each year, and thought I'd take advantage of that. As soon as I walked in, the receptionist told me "your insurance only covers eyeglasses exam and not contacts", and I said "that's fine. Let's just do eyeglasses exam." The young female doctor came in and did my eye exam, and gave me a trial pair of contacts to put in, to which I said, "why are we doing contacts when the girl told me the insurance only covers eyeglasses?" And the doctor said, "well, it won't hurt for you to just try them out." I was so confused! So I went to check out, and the receptionist told me it would be $140! To which I replied, "for what?" And she said "your contacts exam and pulling of eyelashes." I said, "no, remember we talked when I came in about only getting a glasses exam because of insurance?" Then a big guy (maybe manager) stepped up to bully me for backup. I was treated very rudely, except by One technician. The girls knew I had discussed it, so the receptionist then said I owe $60 because the doctor pulled out two EYELASHES!! SIXTY DOLLARS FOR AN EXAM THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE FREE!! They were going to get money out of me somehow!! I told the doctor that something feels like it is in my right eye, and she said, "you've got two eyelashes growing backwards", and she got the tweezers and pulled them out! Any professional person would've said, 'I can pull them out for you BUT IT WILL COST YOU $30 A PIECE, or they are near the outside if you want to go home and pull them out', WHICH OF COURSE I would've chosen!!! I would've NEVER EVER agreed to pay $30 per eyelash to have her pluck it out! I am on a Fixed Income for Heaven's sake! This was so so unethical! She should've disclosed the price to me! I feel like the entire high charge for pulling an eyelash was something they made up anyway! Even the exam was an extra $10 because they can't dilate you eyes due to Covid! It is listed on receipt as "Covid19 protection"! Why should I have to PAY for COVID?? So, even if the insurance promises a FREE eye exam, you will NOT get out of this place without paying something. For me, it was $70! Meanwhile, my son bought a GROUPON for an eye doctor at southside for THIRTY dollars and walked out loving the place with a script for eyeglasses AND CONTACTS!! I was confined to a list from my insurance because I thought I was getting a FREE eye exam, but go on GROUPON or one of the famous cheaper chains! This Vision Express is a HORRIBLE place that really RIPS you off! I will discuss it with my insurance also! I notice they have never reached out to the negative Yelp reviewers. read more

First time we were there they were very helpful. My son went for his yearly exam and to get contacts. Took him almost 3 weeks of constant calling to get his contacts and he ended up having to go to one of the other offices to get them.Today I have called and called, got put in voicemail, someone picked up and then put me on hold for who knows how long and now they are not answering the phone. I had a queston on the contacts they gave my son but can't get anyone to pick up the phone let alone have my question answered. I wouldn't recommend this office at all. I will be ordering contacts elsewhere and taking all of our business elsewhere. read more

I had a wonderful experience as a first time patient here. The staff was friendly and everyone was knowledgeable.. The doctor was a nice young woman and made sure to explain things to me in different ways to make sure I understood my diagnosis. The glasses selection is not huge, however, the selection available are current fashions & designers-- I have no doubt you will easily find something you love here (I know I did!). As far as price goes, I admittedly do not have a point of reference here (I have not needed glasses/contacts for nearly 15yrs). The staff at Vision Express in PVB is top-notch. Having a very difficult prescription, I've seen a number of opthalmologists in the area, and no one has gotten my prescription correct until visiting Dr. Allison Falden. She takes the time, listens to all concerns, performs the necessary diagnostics for healthy eyes, and does not stop until everything is correct. The staff there... Raquel especially... are very accommodating, professional and friendly. And Dave Mora, the office manager who handles glasses and frames, took extra time with me to ensure that I had the perfect frame that fit properly and looked exceptional. read more

Seriously one of the worst experiences in an eye Drs office!! Not one of their staff members knows what is going on. They were rude, unapologetic when they got my kids glasses that he needed urgently WRONG, barely apologetic when those glasses came in one week late. I have never been more frustrated before. I was happy to get a same day appointment as I was on my last pair of contacts. My schedule has been crazy the last few weeks and couldn't find the time. The staff was very accommodating. This was my third annual exam but first with Dr. Allison. She was very knowledgable and professional and answered all of my questions. The new multi-focal lenses are working much better for my vision. I will definitely continue coming here for my vision needs. read more

Stay away! This place will scam you into extremely expensive lenses without giving you explanation or options for parameters. They are unhelpful when you need customer service or when you have questions about your charges. There are countless other places to get good service and more reasonably priced glasses. At first they were GREAT! Then it was the worst experience and complete RIP OFF! The Doctors are great but the office staff is the worst! They could NOT get my rx correct and kept blaming me. They wouldn't let me speak to the Doctors and then it was too late when I finally did over 10 months of trying to get glasses that worked and my money back it was over over $350. Then Dr. Allison realized the glasses that Ruth ordered were the wrong RX, really that's what I kept saying for 10 months now. Can I get my money back, NO it's to late. They ordered me another pair at "their expense" no you didn't I PAID OVER $350. so it was my expense!!! They weren't even correct. I won't even go it to the contacts that was never right and I wore contact for years and none of the one's they ordered were the right fit!! Maybe because someone wrote the RX down wrong I don't know, They are the professionals HA! They will take your money and pretend to help and just until you time limit for a refund has expired. If you get talked into the progressive lenses you only have 30 days and it's called failure to adjust and you are suppose to get your money back!!! They failed to tell me that but I went back a day after i got them and said these make me dizzy! They said oh they are not adjusted, week after week month after month it was an adjustment! NOT ONE TIME DID THEY OFFER MY MONEY BACK OR LET ME SEE THE DOCTOR! The time I pitched a fit 10 months later I got to see the eye doctor! read more

The optometrist was great. The progressive lenses I purchased (for over $500), however, began distorting in about six months and were unusable within 11 months. When I returned them, I was told the distortion was from faulty manufacturing, and the glasses were replaced at no charge. The same thing happened to the replacement pair, and the person I spoke with told me that the glasses were not under lifetime warranty. Because it was a confirmed manufacturing error, I feel as if I am owed a replacement or refund. read more

We are so lucky to have an expert vision therapy team at the Beaches!There aren't a lot of practices qualified to diagnose and treat kids in this very specialized field. Many kids are misdiagnosed with learning disabilities or dyslexia when they really have a problem with their eyes. I recommend a visit to Dr. Falden for children and teens with reading difficulties to rule out these very treatable conditions. read more

Apparently this company is now called Vision Express in Ponte Vedra. The eye doctor was nice but the staff dealing with insurance are either incompetent or worse. I called my insurance carrier several times before AND after my appointment to determine what would and would not be covered, discussed it with Vision Express prior to my appointment, was told what would be covered, and then got stuck with a bill they now say is NOT covered in spite of all that. Just want you all to know and be aware of what is obviously an insurance mill. Wish I'd known before I got stuck. NOT good customer service at all. #VisionExpress read more
