Asher gave us a beautiful kitchen! Working with Asher was not without a few bumps in the road, but I have worked with other contractors in the past and he totally outshined them all! Asher is extremely personable and easy to work with. He jumps on things and gets the job done in an efficient manner! His crew also replaced our roof and the job was completed less than a week from signing the actual contract. For the kitchen remodel, work was being done on the house daily (and long hours at times) and Asher and his crew ALWAYS arrived on time. The daily progress was incredible! (We had a load bearing wall removed as we turned a kitchen, laundry area, and breakfast nook into one large kitchen). I agree with Lavin Z's review (point #1 especially). There were a few things that I just assumed were part of the original quote that I ened up needing to get, or had to pay supplemental costs. I was also given a quote for copper piping and PEX was installed. More concrete was used than originally thought in "leveling" the floor before placing tile down. I am concerned about the added weight to the structure, but it passed inspection so I am hoping it is OK. One other thing to note as that we went through Asher in getting the kitchen cabinets. We found something close to what we wanted, but the selection was limited (and glass cabinet doors were delivered twice with scratches). When all is said and done, we survived the full kitchen remodel process and it was relatively quick and painless. After meeting 4 other contractors we decided to go with Vision Remodeling as their quote was in the middle of the group. Asher, the owner, who came and gave the estimate was very polite and friendly. The start of the project started with within a week of signing the contract and everything went very quickly and smooth. We had a mold issue of the bathroom and Asher was able to have the remediation completed within a week. Asher went with us to select all tile material after demo was completed. The entire project from demo to signoff from the inspector took 5 weeks. A week faster then estimated during the quote. I contacted Vision Remodeling for a full bathroom remodel after meeting them during a home show in Pasadena. They were competitively priced among the other contractors I called. I met with Asher (owner) for the initial meeting and it took about an hour while we went over what I wanted to do in the bathroom (gut everything, replace with everything new, changing the tub/shower combo to shower only). Then we went over everything that was required from them and myself and the rough schedule (3 weeks). They were willing to start almost immediately. At this point, I wished I slowed down and gathered everything I needed to gather, as this was my first major remodel. If I were to do it over again I would recommend the following tips for any new remodeller: 1) Know the schedule of when and what is being installed. Try and match the information between management and the workers. For example, I didn't know and wasn't informed that I needed to provide certain materials until the day before they were needed. This would lead to rushed to Home Depot in search of items that may not be in stock. 2) Have an understanding the relationship of rough materials and finished materials. As I said before, this was my first remodel and I didn't know the difference between rough and finished. For example, I initially wanted a shower handle that was unattached to the shower head. I didn't know that this required a 'rough in' (in the walls) diverter and was needed to pass 'rough in' inspections. I had to forgo this nicety because 'rough in' diverters are special orders at HomeDepot. In addition, I didn't know (was not informed) that my toilet drain was a 'rough in' distance (from the wall) of 14 inches. This was most likely due to the age of my bathroom (1970s built). By the time I knew it, the tile and toilet was already installed. Having bought a standard 12 inch rough-in toilet led to my toilet being away from the wall about 3 inches. 3) Get your head around city codes. City codes demand that the toilet be a certain distance from everything else (16 inches out from the drain). This needs to be considered when selecting a vanity, which in turn affects the position of the mirror, which affect the position of lights and the wiring to those lights. My project required 3 different city permits (building, plumbing and electrical. If you are replacing fan, you may need a mechanical one too), with inspections during different phases (rough-in, final, etc). These fees differ from city to city and can get pretty high. 4) Prices vary greatly from place to place. Do your wallet a favor and shop around. Custom shower doors can vary by hundreds of dollars. Tile stores will match or beat other tile stores for your business. Many tile stores do not have tiles in stock and need a couple of days to order/deliver. Some places charge for delivery to their store. Once you find a tile, take a picture and show it to the contractors. He told us that our first choice for the shower floor area would cause unevenness due to the odd shapes and slope required for proper water draining. 5) Be available and double check the work. The electrician to install new recessed lights switches but installed the polarity of the light switch incorrectly. I only found this out by testing the placement of my mirror lights and turning them on, only to realize they were on in the off position. The job was completed on schedule and Asher was helpful and friendly throughout the process. Overall, I was satisfied with the work. read more

We moved to an old house and we were planning to renovate the bathroom ( and extend it out ), we didn't know much about the design and how many square feet to extend. He came up with a great ideas, was very pleasant takes pride in his job and the price was reasonable ( he was right in the middle compare to the others ). Asher visited us twice before he started our master bathroom remodel and was very receptive to our plans. We mostly stuck to the plan(we chose travertine which increased the price a bit). Being a remodel of course there were bumps in the road but Asher and his team were responsive and helpful the entire way. I have been wanting to renovate our bathroom since the day my husband and I moved in to our house 4 years ago. Part of the reason why we didn't renovate earlier is because it was hard to find someone we could trust. Every contractor/worker I tried I felt they were taking advantage of us. In other instances, we found someone cheaper but didn't do a good job which resulted into us doing the work ourselves or spending MORE MONEY! This made us very hesitant to really invest until we found someone. And we did! We got so lucky! We found Asher at a Home and Garden Convention in Orange County. Asher is very knowledgeable, professional and the one thing that I appreciated the most is his honesty. He made the process very easy for us. He was always available through phone and came to the house multiple times to ensure the job was getting done correct. He even went to the store with us to help us find the materials we needed. This was something I really appreciated since it saved us time and headaches. His quote was a bit higher compared to the other ones we got but of course cheap labor = cheap results. we trusted Asher and knew that we were getting quality service and that the finished product will look amazing...And YES! our bathroom looks amazing!!! What can I say? Asher is the best! My wife and I have been dealing with horrible contractors for a while and we can never find one that listens to us, makes us feel trusted, and follows through. But we got so luckily we found Vision Remodeling. Asher spent over 4hrs just to just to get to know us and how to better serve us. He also was very attentive to all our needs throughout the process. He listen to our ideas and gave us a ton of options from a stylistic point of view to what's best for the money. To top it off he gets the project done fast! Without a mess.
