I typically don't review anything that isn't food, but this exception was warranted. The wait was bearable and the initial service was fine. It started to go downhill when I went back for the exam. It was a question around dilation. Typically they tell you that you can pay a fee to keep you from getting your eyes dilated and takes less time. I was prepped for it. We got to the machine and she said every perk but the fact that to use the machine would be an additional cost. I finally just asked what the difference was and she went back to explaining the process. I cut her off and I asked what the price difference was and she finally said $25. Shady at best. I used to trust visionworks and was satisfied with their performance. my latest experience has completely turned me against them. i did not use their doctor as I had just had cat surgery and got my prescription from that doctor. I'm beyond frustrated with their high pressure sales tactics which caused me to spend way beyond my budget. their promised times for picking up are merely wishful thinking. Even after receiving texts from them that the had my order, it wasn't ready, and they always have to wait for some one in "the lab" to get to them, who apparently only works on the full moon or something because they are never in when I get there. It took me four trips just to get lenses put in a pair of sunglasses, and then only I mad a scene in the store demanding something be done. NO ONE Ever answers a phone here. And they upsell you lenses and coatings. Without telling you the coating take 2 weeks til after purchase. When people need their glasses immediately when if they would have told from the being the coating takes two weeks and without coating only takes 2 hrs for them to cut the lenses. Still over 2 weeks and they still saying they are being shipped and still haven't been shipped. I do not recommend this one. New Albany on state street answers their phones and people are way nicer to deal with. read more

Prompt greet at the reception desk Very friendly staff. You just show your insurance card and the staff handles the rest of the paperwork. Unfortunately I picked the week before school started and the place was very busy. However I waited, and when called back the pre exam was a pleasant experience. The tech offered me a exam that is out of pocket but you get screened for just about every eye disorder possible without having your eyes dialated! Then you go back into the lobby after the picture screening and wait for the eye doctor to examine you. The doctor was great made the suggested recommendations for glasses and it was over. Then you go to get fitted for the glasses you have chosen. My glasses will take 10 days before they are ready. Be prepared to pay extra if you go with designer options. I'll return whenever I need another exam. Great service and very professional! read more

I have been coming to Visionworks for years now and I'm very happy with them compared to previous eye care places in the past. I see Dr Josh Houston and he is amazing!! He explains every detail about the prescription you need and why you need it. Last year I saw a different doctor who put me in bifocals and it turns out that wasn't what I needed but just a stronger prescription in general. He also added an extra feature to my glasses to help my eyes relax instead of being stressed all the time. I'm so thankful that Dr Josh listened to my concerns when it came to driving at night and my job where I stare at the computer for 8 hours a day at work. read more

Choose somewhere else if you want to keep your sanity and not be at the doctors all night. I've gone to this office twice and both times were just awful. Height of Covid and they have full families in waiting rooms with children screaming, touching all the mirrors and all the glasses. Your appointment time will never be the scheduled time to be prepared to wait a crazy amount of time. They take you back and try to upsell a scan/picture of the inside of your eyeball, which is supposed to tell if theres any underlying diseases, if I had an underlying disease would the doctor not tell me anyway? Computers are always down. Called for contacts and it seems they aren't used to working with people with insurance so they had to call me back, I missed the call and called back immediately and it was a different person who insisted on helping even though the other girl had my order ready. Then new girl on phone was also not used to taking insurance so she told me she had to call me back and I never received a call. Doctor himself is good I guess though. read more

She went above and beyond to figure out why my contacts weren't working as well as they should've, helped call another branch to double check my prescription, set up a quick checkup for my eyesight, then set up a new shipment for my new correct contacts! Mixed review. Dr. Eger was great, and saw me close to my appointment time. About an hour late seeing my wife. The other side of the house was another story. Only two salespeople working on a busy Saturday. Store is set up for 6 or 7 sales stations. Waited a solid hour for help writing up glasses. Just about ready to leave and asked desk clerk where I was on the list. Only one ahead of me so I stuck it out. I will give them another shot next year because I like the doc but going forward I may just grab a prescription and come back during a slow time or get the glasses elsewhere. read more

BEWARE OF RUDE DOCTOR LAWRENCE! Had a scheduled appointment for my wife for an issue regarding her prescribed glasses. Saw doctor (LAWRENCE) who is quite possibly the rudest and most foul Dr. I've ever met. Down-talked to my wife and I regarding her prescription... and talked over us every time we attempted to ask a question. At one point I had to stand and say, "can we talk?" He basically told me to shut up as he went on for another 5 minutes telling me not to talk and that he's been doing this for many years. My only response is... "great! So you've been rude for many years?" If you end up seeing this doctor (LARENCE), just beware and don't feel bad when he belittles you or your family. Apparently he's been "doing this for many years..." so he says. Why is this guy working there? Because after many years, my family and I will no longer be going there. They are great to work with. Fairly quick appointments. Building is handicap accessible. They really work to accommodate you. I had a difficult time getting in the eye machines. But mainly due to being a quadriplegic with a cage in my neck. I highly recommend. I saw Dr. Susan Grady, Dr. Omar and Dr. Egged. They were all great !! Thank you !! read more

Yesterday, two of our family members were serviced at this location. Each of us got to see the same optometrist, Dr Brummit (sp), and he was great. He explains every step as he goes along, and it is very soothing and informative. We did have a mix-up concerning our coverage , but Billie, the manager, took care of the situation quickly. I came into the office about 6pm and was behind a few others, meaning I'd be last in the store. Nobody rushed me, even though by the time I finished it was more than an hour past closing. My old glasses had gotten scratched and part of the nose piece had broken off. I took them in to this office and the nose piece was repaired for free. I was overdue for an eye exam so I called this office for an appointment. I was able to get an appointment quickly. The staff is very nice and professional. The sweet lady who helped me pick out my new glasses was so friendly and helpful. I don't like picking out frames - too many choices - so she guided me through the process. The frames had to be ordered, but were in ahead of schedule. The frames we chose are lovely. I've gotten several compliments on my new glasses. Thank you for all the help! read more
