I went to this location because it's near my job, so it's convenient. I needed to get some prescription lenses put into some frames that I already had and they were able to see me immediately and took care of everything I needed, even helped with getting all my insurance information. They were patient with me while I was trying to do all of that. Unfortunately, when I came to pick up my finished glasses, they didn't work out too well and they shared with me that I have a 30 day return policy if my optometrist change my prescription. It was the prescription that was the problem, not Visionworks. They change my lenses with no questions with the new prescription. Turnaround time was pretty quick. I waited about 2 weeks each time before I got my glasses. They can't do anything for you if a doctor is not on the premises. They are closed for any work on Thursdays because of this. The only thing you could do on a Thursday is maybe pick up a finished product. read more

Unprofessional. Walked in to get glasses for my son due to us previously having an examine here and we purchased here before, I assumed it would be still a good fit for our family! Nooo we waited for over 20 min to be seen. When I gave the lady my name and insurance info so she could look up my child she said great I see it on her screen so I asked are we all caught up with the examines she said yes. I informed her that I would be a cash customer this time due to changes with my insurance. She said no problem and that he could pick the glasses out and they'd be ready in two weeks. So after he spent 5min picking them out. We approach her with the glasses only for her to look us right in the eyes and say oh ma'am we need to do an examine because it's been three weeks past your child's recommended examination and she proceeds to tell me the fees and cost I told her that she just said that we were caught up. Used to be a good experience. Not anymore. I was told by their representative that with a recent glasses prescription from another provider I can just do contact fitting and pay $60. Visionworks is not in network with my insurance, therefore I had to do my glasses prescription elsewhere. Once I obtained my glasses prescription, I called the location to schedule the contacts fitting appointment just to be informed by their GM that I was misinformed and I still have to pay for a glasses prescription even though I already have one and then pay on top of that for the contacts fitting. Don't bother making an appointment. My appointment was at 11am. I arrived at 10:50am. At 11:50am I still had not seen the doctor. When I asked how much longer, I was told there are still several people ahead of me, and they could not say how long each of them would take. I will be a Visionworks customer for life. I had an interview in Atlanta and my luggage was lost. I had no contacts and was feeling pretty down. I called this branch and spoke to their GM Danny and asked if there was any way they would have some sample pairs of contacts I could use. I was genuinely expecting a 'sorry' but we can't help you. Instead this team and GM went the second mile and went to another store just to get me the contacts I needed and at NO charge! I am truly inspired by their willingness to help a stranger in need. If they will help someone in town for a couple days then I have no doubt they will serve their customers well in the area! read more

This is my favorite Vision works location! The service here is quick and the people are friendly. I needed a replacement frame for my son, and called in to check on availability at 4:50pm (they close at 5). Danny checked availability over the phone and I was able to come in and complete my purchase before closing- without feeling rushed! Went to get an eye exam and get prescription. I first went on a Friday evening because the sign said that walk-in were welcomed. However, the receptionist asked me if I had "an appointment or anything." Her tone while asking said, "I know you didn't just come in here without calling or making an appointment or something. Dang what do you think this is McDonalds?" So yeah. After I said I didn't have an appointment because it says that walk-ins are welcome, she went to the back to ask the Dr. if she would see me I presume. That was a no. So I made an appointment for the next day. I saw the eye Dr. who was a very friendly and young lady. I had to know her age because she looked like 18. But she is 28. Anyway, she told me that my prescription was too strong and that's why I couldn't see things properly. I got my trial pair and they worked nicely. Though it says an eye exam is $45, exams for contacts lenses cost about $50 more because something about sizing and blah, blah, blah, we-gotta-charge-you-more talk. I have patronized this location for several years, and I am always pleased with my experience. The doctor on site is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and proficient. The lab technician, Larry Singletary, is always diligent and meticulous in preparing lenses for my frames. My frames always look amazing when he is finished, and he is very amenable to helping the customer find the best looking frames and lenses for his/her budget. Giving this store two stars because the staff there are phenomenal. The store manager, however, is ridiculous. I came in April to get an eye exam and a prescription for some lenses. Months later, I decide to buy a pair of glasses on a third party site and need a copy of my prescription. I call the office and talk to store manager Danny Garland, who tells me he can not tell me what my prescription is because of HIPA and tells me I need to drive to the store to have him* verify my identity and print my prescription and that there are no exceptions. I drive an hour to the store and ask to receive a copy of my prescription. Danny proceeds to ask me for my name and phone number and prints out the prescription without verifying I was who I said I was or checking my license. I ask him if he wants to check my license to verify my identity and he said he didn't need it. What a waste of time for both him and myself... read more

I patroned this location for the first time last August for a contact lense eye exam. I have been a consistant customer of visionworks at a sister location for 7 years. The campcreek location is closer to me so I had my chart and files transferred to this location, BAD MISTAKE!!!! I usually wear acuvue II contact lenses and have been for the past 7 years. My prescription and vision has been the same after every eye exam. After my eye exam at this location last summer, the optometrist suggested I try a new version of acuvue called oasys, which is twice as much as the usual lenses that I wear. I purchased these lenses anyway and thought maybe they would be worth the extra charge, WRONG AGAIN!!! Normally I can go from one eye exam to another (which is 1yr) and use only 2 boxes between the use of my glasses. At this point I still have 2 month to go before my next eye exam and I have went though 3 boxes already of these oasys lenses. I went back to the campcreek location to order my forth box and ask if I could just have the acuvue II lenses instead because the oasys are not working for me, they cost twice as much and doesn't last long at all. The optometrist stated I would have to pay for another eye exam at $99 before I could order the very same contact lenses that I have been wearing for the past 7 years prior to her suggesting the worthless oasys. Now keep in mind, it hasn't been a year since my last exam and my chart has 7 years of the very same prescription with the same acuvue II lenses purchased, yet she want me to pay for another eye exam to get the exact same lenses. I was LIVID , becasue in reality she suggested a more expense lense to me in the first place after I paid $99 for an eye exam and now she wants me to pay another $99 to get the exact same prescription and lense, sounds like she just trying to get over. Now I'm not an optometrist but I thought the purpose of an eye exam was to get your B.C and vision presription, but she makes it seem that her eye exams are for what maufacturer of lenses will work best for her patients. I had an appointment at 3:30 for my eye exam and got there 10 minutes before my appointment. This was at Cumberland Mall location. After waiting for One Hour! I started to ask the customer next to me how for how long she was waiting. She looked so frustrated and told me that she was waiting for an hour and a half! and that she had never experienced that kind of service in any other eye clinic. Next, I asked when my turn would be and was told that there were two more customers ahead of me. I decided to leave before wasting more time. There were about 6 people working there but not really being helpful, and only one doctor that looked so young and whom was taking too long with every patient. This place will have you waiting for long periods of time even if you have an appointment. When you call to ask anything they put you on hold for 20 to 30 minutes as if they are waiting for you to hang up. To get anything accomplished you need to ask for a supervisor. This place has horrible service. I had to call to see if my order was ready, when I was told it would be ready in 5 to 7 days and it has been two weeks. The only reason why I go here is because it is close to my job. If it were not for that I would not do business with this location at all. They need serious help with customer service. read more

I arrived for appointment at 9:22 and my appointment start time was 9:30. Deon was able to check me in and ask if I had insurance that I would be using. I let him know yes, and I would. I also advised that I filled out and submitted my paper work online. Deon advised me to have a seat in back and the Dr. Would be with me shortly while paperwork was printed out. 9:41 I'm still sitting waiting for my appointment and I haven't been acknowledged by the Dr. that has come out of the exam room more than once. 9:42 My paperwork has been found by Tonya and the initial exam starts... During the exam, the office manager and someone else was having an extremely loud conversation the entire time not taking into consideration the fact that the area where I was having an exam was in an open space. After completing the initial exam, Tonya asks me to have a seat and the Dr. will be with me shortly. 9:52 After discussing her daughter's state board exam while entering my info with the Dr., I'm finally taken into the exam room. 9:53 I was ushered into the room by the Dr. without her introducing herself (take in mind I'm a first time client). The Dr. asks for my glasses to examine my current prescription and after returning, that's when she introduces herself (Dr. Ackers). After completing the exam, Dr. Ackers escorts me back out to Deon to complete my process. 10:19 After wrapping up with another patient, Deon inquired about my insurance information and I advised him that I completed it along with the rest of my online paperwork that was emailed to me and submitted. Deon then asks Tonya about the insurance information and why she didn't print it out and her response was (you didn't tell me to). After going back and forth for a few moments, the phone then rung and Tonya started "assisting" the potential patient on the phone. After going to the back for a few minutes, Deon said that all of the information submitted did not come through (system error). 10:26 I provided Don with my insurance card and he called to verify eligibility. After verifying eligibility and me paying my copay, I shared my disappointment with Deon about my overall visit from start to finish and that I won't be back. It's a shame as I planned on getting my eyeglass prescription updated while I was there. I will rather make the 25-30 minute drive to Midtown to my old Optometrist than take the 5 minute drive to Visionworks. read more
