I've been bringing my father here for awhile now. I started making appointments as well. Dr Andrew Williams is the best. And yes this is a black owned business. VEA is located right below the intersection of Cascade Rd and Boulevard Granada.This is considered the historic Cascade Heights. Right along with other popular Black owned business. Dr. Williams is young man that has providing service for this community for 6 years. His staff is amazing. The clinic and the exam rooms are nice and clean. I love that Dr. Williams stock his eye frames shelves with minority owned brands. And not just major brands. He thinking about small business owners. My dad has dementia and Dr. Williams takes very good care of him. Dr. Williams is patient, understanding and caring. He make sure my dad understands everything he's doing for his eyes. Im writing an honest unbiased opinion of my FIRST ever visit to VEA. My choice was based upon proximity to my home (4 miles) & an Instagram post by a mutual friend who went to college with Dr. Williams. I was very satisfied with my Medical Eye exam. The office is clean, mask required & temperature taken. Ample space. Several exam rooms. It was costly only b/c my eye was sore & red. I needed assistance to really help the discomfort. That's different from a regular Comprehensive exam that checks your Rx for glasses or contacts. Insurance would've covered that. Photographs were taken of my eyes. The Dr explained to me my current eye health. I was dilated & diagnosed. Written an Rx and advised not to purchased a generic brand. The only hiccup was with the front desk girl Brooklyn who seems new. Wasn't as pleasant when I walked in but she was on a call. She had trouble taking the photograph of my eyes, admitted that she's in training but didn't ask for help. Alexis (the other Tech who's friendly & experienced) knocked on the door, assisted her & got it done in maybe 3 mins. My hubby and I have been here maybe 4xs and I must say I am very pleased with not only the professionalism from the staff, but also the kindness! I had issues with my glasses not fitting properly. Plus, the clip that converts my glasses to shades did not fit. Not only did the staff help me get sorted, they worked diligently to order the correct clip for my glasses. The doc is great, but I also appreciate Brooklyn and Ashley for working so hard to resolve our issues. We will def be back!!! read more

This is my second visit and I highly recommend. The doctor is the best. He was able to get my prescription correct after years of having an incorrect prescription. My vision hasn't been this sharp in a while, not to mention I have astigmatism in one eye. I wear contact lenses and eyeglasses as well. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable too. I've been coming to this business since it opened. My daughter and I have only had wonderful experiences. While frames can be pricy due to prescriptions and frames, this locations truly gives you a run for your money. While you won't find your typical Rayban styled frame, you will find many that will make it hard to choose. I own two pair of frames from this location, both black owned and I get asked all the time where did I purchase them from. The staff and doctor are truly wonderful, as an eyeglass wearer for the past 25 years I am grateful to have found this establishment. They are close to home, local and black owned. I went for an appointment and received an exam and prescription. Looked at their selection of glasses which is not stylish and way overprice, so I decided to just get my prescription and order glasses elsewhere. Come to find out they leave the PD's off the prescription which is needed for glasses, so you won't be able to use your prescription elsewhere. read more

Revised: Vea veiwed my review and immediately gave me call to make right anything I thought was wrong and to explain to me the information giving to my husband. Again I choose Vea based on the 4 star marking. The front office staff was very courtesy. And after visit with the Doctor the staff was only following the lead of their supervisor.. As a consumer in these hard times I am always looking for a way to save. I was able to bring in my frames and have the lenses put in by Vea. The front staff worked along side me so that I could get the best price with the lenses. NOW My husband visit came off a little bit more difficult because one eye is way worst than the other but I knew I should have went on appt with him. My husband never ask the right questions if he ask questions at all nor do he relay information back to me right that's all his dr appts urgh.... However we purchased these expensive $500 glasses because of the bad eye from Lenses crafters my husband tried wearing them but they made him very dizzy. We took them back several times but they insisted that the prescription was correct and he just needed to get use to them with no other options. After Doctor Williams examination he immediately said they gave him the wrong prescription in his glasses. Doctor William gave us several options to correct his vision and with a price to fit our budget. This first has no reflection on the doctor. I visited the establishment and the staff treats you as if you don't exist. I asked questions about pricing and they told me that they can't give me pricing unless I had an exam. I then asked if they could just give me a price if I wanted to buy only the frame they said yes but wouldn't give me the price. I canceled my upcoming appointment. It is hard to give your money to a business when it just seems slick with pricing. I really hate that I shared my personal information. I have been is business in the area 31 years and wanted to support a black business but the staff is young and uncaring the owner really needs to know. read more

Tried to support local African American business and spent a lot of money for extras that are now useless because frames were cheap.
