My 97 yr old Mom fell and bent the frames on her glasses, she got her glasses from Visionworks at the mall. I brought them in to see if they could straighten them for her so I could take them to her at the hospital. I was worried if I tried I might break the frame because they are so thin. Raylee was working and she explained that she would try but if they broke I would need to order a new frame. I was so worried because my Mom can only see out of one eye now and Visionworks had put a special lens in these glasses because she's color blind in the good eye. She needs them to see at all. Raylee took her time and was able to straighten them and she also put new nose pads on them. When she gave the repaired glasses back to me in a new case I started to cry. The eye exam was the best I have had ever and I have been wearing glasses forever. The receptionist was so friendly answering my questions . The optometrist assistant was so nice as well as the optometrist. This is the best eye office I've ever been to, and I didn't expect that for an eye office in a mall honestly. The optometrist from Pacific Eye Group was absolutely phenomenal and I would travel just to see her again. I also had a wonderful experience with the associates both at the front Visionworks glasses desk and the back optometry desk. The back receptionist for the optometrist was incredibly helpful when trying to figure out benefits between 2 different insurances, which I was very grateful for. In the front, both of the glasses associates (Frankie and Bailey? unsure of spelling) were both incredibly kind and helpful every time I came in to look at and order glasses and contacts. 10/10 all around!! read more

I went to pickup my eyeglasses today after traveling from the coast. I was the only customer in the store but was made to feel like I was an inconvenience. I have purchased glasses from this store and had previously had a chance to sit down and try them one to see if any adjustments were needed. Today I was given the glasses at the reception desk and told I just had to get used to them when I expressed concerns. Now I have a pair of glasses I cannot wear. Went in on a Saturday for an exam and to purchase glasses. Traveled from Klamath Falls to find this "in network provider". They made us pay up front for everything as they couldn't confirm our insurance, but assured us that when we submitted to our insurance company we would be reimbursed. Well, insurance company only reimbursed a portion as there is a "provider discount" per them being contracted with Pacific Source. Insurance advised it was an over payment to the provider by us, and to contact Visionworks. I just got off the phone and told "we don't do that". Guess I will be calling Pacific Source to file a complaint about their "in network" provider". Oh, and don't expect any help from corporate Visionworks . . . . I have been in the que for over one hour. Best advise I can give you -- don't go to Visionworks unless you like to be exploited. read more

I went here for years and then on my last visit something had changed. It was horrible. I was fitted for contact lenses for the first time and had a downright traumatic experience with the assistant trying to show me how to remove them and failing over and over while scraping at my eye balls as she did. I left vowing never to return. Then there was a discrepancy over the bill being way too high and we never received any communication back from them on it. I just found out we have been turned over to a credit service with no explanation! I don't know how they are still in business as it seems I am not the only one to experience this. Do not bother going to this place. I walked in and ask if they would be able to adjust my new sunglasses I bought last winter. I would have had them adjust by the place I bought them but they have seemed to have closed their doors. The lady at the desk whom had lost her voice said yes they would be able to help me please take a seat I have some in front of you. Once it was my turn she proceeded to help me. She broke my brand new sun glasses! And pretty much just say ooops. If you have a currant RX we can replace them. I leave for Hawaii soon and have none of my records due to the office I went to closing. I have clue if my RX is current or what it is... when I asked I they have a manager she said she was the manager. They made no effort to fix this issue! So now I have a pair of broken $500 sunglasses... thanks!!!! And if your reading my review you will see they replied to my review saying that they wanted to talk to me to make it right and asked for my information. I wish I had read these reviews before going in. I have a very good health insurance plan, and a decent vision plan. I was told they couldn't confirm my vision insurance, but said I had good coverage with my medical insurance and since I had selected "medical" related services, my normal vision insurance likely wouldn't cover things anyways. Was told I had to pay $100, and that included my co-pay and that the rest would be billed to my *health* insurance provider. I just double checked after getting home with my vision provider and realized all the special "medical" services they did *should* have been covered by my *vision* insurance, and I *should* have only paid $40 for my visit. Don't be fooled by the cheery smile and scripted response. Don't hand over your medical insurance, don't sign any of their forms that make you acknowledge their shady business practices hidden in piles of legal mumbo jumbo, and go to a local optometrist. There's a reason why the good ones are booked out so far in advance vs. getting in right away at visionworks. Oh yah, and in addition to being highly shady, my appointment didn't start until 45 minutes after the scheduled time, so don't schedule anything afterwards as there's no telling how long you'll sit around and wait. read more

Believe the one star reviews. Bad experience. Hard sell tactics galore. I was encouraged multiple times to not use my insurance because their "in house" deals would be better. They stated this, before even checking my benefits with my insurer. I could hear other sales reps giving the exact same script to other "clients". Obviously, they get spiffed for steering clients into not using insurance. I found a frame that I liked. Went to finalize the deal with the closer when she told me that the shade of grey lens that I liked requires a "service protection plan", whereas the less popular lens does not. Made no sense. Questioned her as to why one would require it, and the other wouldn't. She had no intelligible response or answer, other than repeating her script. Again, I'm sure that they are instructed to use certain scripts, for add-on sales' and bonus reasons... horrible used-car sales experience here. And I mean no disrespect to car sales people here. Just awful experience. AVOID. In my Google review, "management" responded with a "please respond to us directly to address your issues" reply, which was almost the same reply that you'll see on all of the poor reviews here (and Google reviews). Here to add some more to this review. I called back in March to make a payment, dispute my bill and to have my address changed. At that point I NEVER heard back. No phone call, no mail. NOTHING. Almost 5 months later I get a certified letter to my old address saying Visionworks is sending me to collections. At this point I gather all of my EOB's, all of my notes from interactions I had and decided to go into the office. Never have a I dealt with more incompetent people. As an accountant I have knowledge on how credits and debits happen as well as discounts. Even though Visionworks is a preferred provider for my insurance they refuse to honor their discounted rates. I called my insurance and concurred with them on what I owed Visionworks. I made a spreadsheet for the billing lady and she still cannot understand simple math. We had a wonderful experience with several different assistants. The process was smooth. We both got glasses and one had an eye test from the on site Optometrist. We found the prices to be reasonable in the context of other high end eye places such as Medford Medical eye center and Costco. The glasses arrived on schedule and they work perfectly. I know that sounds odd but we have had experiences when we got our glasses the prescription wasn't right. It happens. We were so happy we bought sunglasses with prescriptions in them and we are very happy with those. If you are in the market they are convenient, they are professional and they are helpful. read more

I live in Myrtle Point and was due to come back the following week. I received word 1 pair arrived early and when I got there to get my one pair both had shown up. I went to Visionworks by recommendation from America's Best since they wouldn't put sunglasses lenses in the frames I had. I was greeted immediately upon entering the store. I told them of the problem with the frames being too spendy for America's Best to work on. They looked at both frames and said YES!! One pair wasn't snug over my ears, so the gal adjusted it right then and there. I was both phoned and texted that my glasses were ready. I went in to pick them up, and they are exactly what I wanted. The lenses are very clear and sturdy and they GAVE me hard cases for each pair of sunglasses! I couldn't be happier. They were very friendly and accommodating, and I'm so glad I went there. I don't know what the awful reviews are about because I had excellent service, and I will definitely return. read more

My wife and kids all 10 of us have gone here for glasses for years. We started using their in house eye doctors cause it was convenient. Well their in house eye doctors are crooks. When you have high option insurance they refused to bill my insurance for all of the exam and told me i had to pay $60 per person or of pocket. My insurance is great. Zero money out of pocket for all exams, refracting, glasses and even contacts. My insurance called them to explain all this to them but they still refused to bill it all out. So we're taking ALL our business somewhere else. Visionworks will lose thousands of dollars because their in house doctors are crooked. read more

This provider / clinic is fraudulent. My husband got a bill 9 months after the service and was being asked to pay for the portion of insurance for the contact lenses. We already paid 571 dollars upfront, they are now charging us another 245 dollars for the fee that the insurance would have paid for. I called my insurance company to ask why they denied the claim and I was told that they never received any bill from the provider. They have documentation that the only charge they billed the insurance for was the eye exam. They also didn't bill the insurance for the contact lens fitting and they told us they could have paid $60 out of the $100 dollars they charged us. Our insurance also said that they should not have charged us another $60 for the refraction because they cover that too. If they don't waive these fees that they should not have asked the patient to pay , I will report the provider to the medical board and Visionworks to BBB. Of this has happened to you I suggest you do the same. This seems to be an ongoing practice for years. Read all the reviews on Google and Yelp. This is not an isolated incident I have read other people complaining about the same issue we were having. read more

I have a mixed review because most everyone past the two women sitting at the counter when you first walk in who looked at me as I entered but never did say "hello can I help you". The other guy and gal in the exam place were friendly and helpful as was the very chatty Dr. I was a bit put off by the religious books and things in her office. And also annoyed that they charged me for an exam that my insurance covered 100%. Now I have to apply to get reimbursed. But I did like that I did get an exam just walking in without an appointment. But I think I will get my glasses some place else just to be safe from getting charged for something my insurance covers. read more

I must say when I first decided to come to this place I was afraid for all the negative reviews I had read. I found that those reviews for me were wrong. Everyone in there was very helpful, loved the eye Dr, she was very good and took the time to answer my questions and was very patient with me when I had to have her do something more then once. John in the frames department was very helpful as well. I was given a date of August 2 as a pick up date. Well I got an email this morning saying they were ready. Mr Bruce was in the store when I got there. He had me try on the glasses to be sure they sat were they were supposed to and that they were not to tight. I will come here again. Started coming here after being recommended to it by two good friends whose opinions I trusted completely, prior to this experience. Eye exam went just fine. When I went to go pick out new frames, I was rushed and didn't get a chance to look at everything. The gentleman who was going through the process of ordering my frames had been friendly upon my coming to the store but as soon as we sat seemed to want me out of there as quickly as humanly possible. He went through all these options for my frames and lenses, and if I didn't understand something would just move onto the next thing, rather than explaining it. A couple months later, I went into to have my lenses replaced because they had both cracked (one was my fault, the other I still don't fully understand). That visit was quick and painless, and they were able to offer me an excellent deal on replacement lenses. I went to pick them up the next evening right before closing. The right lens had what I thought was a smudge, but turned out to be a pretty significant scratch. When I went back in after the weekend, the manager, Serena was incredibly rude. I told her there was a SCRATCH in the lens, and her response was to grab the glasses out of my hands and spend 15 minutes cleaning and re-cleaning the lens. Am I only one finds it a little worrying that a manager thinks the best way to remedy a scratched lens is by rubbing it with a cloth? She then proclaimed, verbatim, "Well, I don't see a scratch and if I can't see a scratch there's no way it could actually be bothering you." Then handed me back my glasses and walked away quickly before I could finish my sentence. The receptionist, who did see the scratch (Serena was rude to her too) said I needed to come back when the lab manager was available in order to have something done. I came in another time a couple weeks later. I dealt this time with Anne. She was also not too friendly this day, and ignored me as she went back and forth to the lab. She did however, decided to have not just the right lens but both lens replaced free of charge (obviously, as this was Visionworks' big screw up). I picked them the next day, from Anne, and she was much friendlier this day. I am moving in the next few months and I hope I don't have reason to come here again before that point. read more

My mother went here to get glasses. She is on a limited income and has Medicare. She went here because of the ads for 2 pairs for $69.00. My mother has a special prescription and this special did not apply to her. She told them she was on a limited income and that she wanted to use her Medicare insurance. The sales person ignored all of this and tried to sell her $500.00 worth of glasses. She said she couldn't afford that, so the sales person changed the order to $250.00 but did not try to get her Medicare coverage and didn't tell her. When I called to cancel the order they said they would have everything ready when we came into cancel the order. We went into the store and they said that they didn't have any cash and we would have to get a company check in 10 days. After several complaints and issues we ended up getting the cash which they said they didn't have. They are con artists and take advantage of the elderly and disabled. This is the response I received from their customer service: Dear Ms. Kirk, Thank you for your email. I am truly sorry you and your mother feel that she has been upsold unnecessary products. Vision Works of America has a 100% Customer Satisfaction Policy. Your mother can return materials to the same store within 30 days of the original date of purchase for a complete refund if she is not satisfied. I found it convenient that this place is open weekends since I work business hours. Got an appointment really quickly. Staff was very courteous and professional. The eye exam was very thorough and the optometrist actually found that my previous prescription I got at Walmart was too strong and causing a strain on my eyes. Sunglasses were ready right away, glasses took a little longer but came out great. Prescription was right on and they didn't even need adjustments. Will definitely go again. read more

Do not get your contacts here, but do come in for glasses. The contacts/optometrist are one section and the glasses section is run by a completely different group of people (Megan, the GM for the glasses section is wonderful- understanding, really knowledgeable). The people working at the glasses portion are genuinely helpful. While the contacts/optometrist portion are inexplicably rude. They're attitude and demeanor are unpleasant. They also have decided as of today (November 27, 2018) that they do not give out contact solution or contact lenses case for people in the glasses section. So if you're trying on glasses/getting them fitted make sure you bring all your own material. They have newly been instructed to absolutely not give out these materials to people NOT at the contact lense/optometrist section. This seems like the most unhelpful rule since, people coming to get glasses fitted often need adjustments. I was appalled at attitude and lack of helpfulness from the people in the contact lense portion of this Visionworks. read more

Had a fantastic experience with first Shelby then John helping me get glasses. I've been going here for many years and seen some highs and many lows in their customer service. I believe something has changed for the better. Shelby is very competent and confident, she really knows her stuff, particularly with complicated insurance plans. She was patient in exploring options and pricing, also helped dig out more frame options for me. John was able to provide some real life advice on lens coatings and benefits. It was such a pleasant experience I stayed much longer than usual just chatting because I could tell they cared. Very impressed. read more

My daughter went in on 10/14/2018 to have her glasses adjusted to fit better behind her ears. They switched the lenses and handed them back to her and said they couldn't help her anymore. She had to go her eye doctor for help. I called to have them help me, and Britney was extremely rude and told me to call corporate! How is this business! We didn't know they switched the lenses until 10/15/2018 after taking the glasses to the eye doctor and her missing school from now being able to see. read more

I returned with my prescription and was "handed over" to what I would describe as a desingenous person. After a stream of mumbo jumbo I was given a price that was as expensive as a price for frames and glasses. Good selection and fast service. Heaven helped me pick out a perfect pair of glasses. When I decided on a second pair she again found a flattering pair. The first pair tends to loosen up a bit with the all plastic frame, but I stop by at least once a month to have them tightened and they are always happy to comply.
