I came here today for an eye exam, it was my first time here but it's where my husband goes and he recommends it. I used to see an ophthalmologist in Birmingham, but our insurance doesn't cover it and it's a little bit far of a drive now for me anyways. I have a condition where my eyes are cone-shaped; because of that, Visionworks recommended me going to a specialist. If I constantly have to go to this place and the specialist, I probably will not go to this place, but we'll see. I thought the eye exam was thorough and well done. Our insurance covers $300 for frames so I ordered some new glasses, my current ones are probably five years old or older so I definitely need a new pair. I was already in the area so I arrived for my appointment a bit early. My husband arrived five or 10 minutes late one time and they turned him away so be aware that they are pretty punctual. My guess is because I think they just have the one doctor for eye exams. They had a nice selection of glasses as well, if you're looking to get new glasses. I would return to this location, but I will admit I missed my old ophthalmologist and the nice waiting room, etc. read more

Previously I've had no problem with this place but recently it's just been bad. The lady working there messed up my glasses by putting an old prescription and then I had to go back 3 times to get the glasses. When I arrived to pick up the glasses there were people waiting for their appointments that they were waiting for, for almost half an hour. No "sorry we will be right with you" not even eye contact, nothing. Had to wait for a while. read more

A year ago, my review would have been 5 star. My wife and I had both been patients / customers for the most recent 4 years. But just today I had the worst customer service experience I've ever had from a health care provider. Apparently, this branch of Visionworks has undergone a total personnel turnover. The previous office staff used to be extremely helpful and the former optometrist there, Dr. Lavine was the most thorough diagnostician I've encountered in almost 60 years of wearing glasses. I made an appointment with the new doctor but left before seeing her because the current office staff is not only incompetent, they are cavalier about customer service. If they aren't interested in making things convenient and pleasant for a repeat customer, I will take my business elsewhere. read more

After having a horrible experience trying to get new reading glasses from a local business closer to my home I ended up choosing Visionworks in Novi that was just a bit farther but had excellent reviews in Yelp. Wow what a difference from the last vision business I went to. First off, Visionworks is punctual/on-time with their scheduled appointments which is something a lot of the businesses in this area are not! Also, you are not treated as a unnamed number that they are trying to push through their system so they can get to their next appointment but instead as a real person with real needs where you are treated in a very personalized way. As I went through their process of vision check, lens choice and eventual frame choice I was impressed at how organized this business is and the emphasis that they place on customer service. Truly top notch. Relative to product, they carry a large selection of lenses/frames based on your desire/style/cost point that should meet almost anyones needs. Of special note, the eye doctor who performed my vision check was very friendly and very thorough in making sure I got the right lenses. He also looked at my old glasses and explained how my vision had changed since I had gotten my old glasses (ten years ago) which was greatly appreciated. Lastly I got my new glasses in just a little over a week following my original appointment which exceeded my expectations. Overall this business is a great one stop for all your vision needs if you are in the Novi area. Their top notch service and product variety cannot be beat and definately is worthy of a five stars + review in my book! read more

After over 10 years of positive experiences with the medical staff and generally pleasant interactions, the lady at the front desk was notably rude and unhelpful. My wife and I had back-to-back appointments, and despite arriving only 10 minutes late (which is well within the typical wait time), she was inflexible and dismissive. The older gentleman eye doctor is very behind the times. I was there almost *two hours* because he took forever to decide my prescription and went back and forth on different strengths, which makes me wonder if my prescription is severely off or not. My husband went there a few months later and got a different doctor. She was efficient (10 minutes!), knowledgeable, and did many other tests that the gentleman doctor didn't even do, so I'm worried he missed things for my eyes that she may have caught. And I'm wondering if she could have given me the correct prescription, no questions asked. I feel very robbed of the feeling of complete accuracy and the time I could have gotten back. My eyes are pretty bad, so I hope nothing goes wrong with this prescription overtime. The girls at the front are wonderful, though! Two stars because of them. read more

I am usually the type to hop around with eye doctors depending on specials and whomever I feel I can trust to do the best job with taking care of my vision. I must say this location has been my best experience so far! Everyone was friendly when I arrived and greeted me promptly. I was a bit early and to my delight they took me right back to start the tests. I was pleased that they have a very fancy machine that scans your retina so you don't have to do dilation which was amazing. I have vsp insurance and they listed this location as a "premier" location and now I can see why- they have some great technology here! The doctor I saw, Dr Lavine was awesome. He is experienced and took the time to check out a few of my recent papers showing my changes in vision for my contacts and glasses. He also made other suggestions for me based on comments I had about being very myopic and also advised me of a new trial lens that had just come out by a brand I love, total dailies in a new formulation that could save me money! I was really pleased at how he took the time to answer my questions and listened to all of my concerns. They also have an excellent variety of glasses. I wasn't going to get a pair of glasses, but decided to as they had a special they were running since I bought a full year of contacts. Despite my high index lenses needed (always adds a huge cost to glasses) and blue light (dang computer strain on the daily!) I was able to score a pair of glasses for slightly cheaper than what I've paid at Costco optical which was amazing. Jewel was kind and patient and helped me select a style of eyeglasses that was different than what I would normally gravitate towards and was super chic. She did not rush me and I appreciated that as I am very picky with eye glass styles. They have a wide variety of frame styles and also have some boujee frames if you're in the mood to spend more (Burberry, Gucci etc). I would highly recommend this location as everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, patient and very helpful. read more

Started off very good. Called for appointment, some auto-bot answered and asked if I wanted to setup and appointment. It was able to get my phone number, then texted me to send my name, setup "same day" appointment, no other questions asked or even the opportunity to me to give additional information. Arrive for appointment, person at counter, not at all friendly, and said I should have told them on the phone who my insurance was with, because they don't accept it apparently... After explaining multiple times that I didn't speak to a real person, said well I should have went on my insurance carriers website to see if Visionworks was offered... so blame the customer for the companies auto-bot programming. read more

I must brag about the amazing customer service experience at the Novi Visionworks. Kim and Maxine helped get my daughter's glasses repaired. They were kind, professional and just a refreshing change from other locations I have been to. These ladies are the best and if you ever want a quality experience and a few laughs to make your day that much better ask for one of them. So I visit Novi Visionworks a year later for another child. We had the pleasure of meeting Jasmine. She was gave us excellent customer service from the time we arrived until the time we left. She was kind and very patient with my son. I had a great experience visiting this business for the first time today. I went in for a contact lens exam . Dr. Moon was my doctor and she was super friendly and professional.I came in on a Saturday and the store was quite busy , but they were able to give me prompt service and attend to my needs.The staff had a good energy as well, it looked like everyone enjoyed working there.I really like how they worked with me on my insurance to get the best deal. I definitely will make this my new eyecare spot after having a less than stellar experience at other nearby competitors. I was recently a customer for an eye exam and new glasses. The store made an error in my prescription, and my eyesight actually worsened with my "new glasses". When I returned to resolve the problem, the store offered to refund my copay and process a refund with my vision insurance; two weeks later and neither has occurred. First things first...Thank you Dr. Lavine!! I bought my last pair of contacts at Pearl Vision Center at Twelve Oaks. Cost $400. This year, they call me back and tell me, "The FDA requirement is for a new script each year," or something very close to that. "FDA requirement? I've never heard of that and have been wearing contacts for 40 years," I said. "Well, it's been a requirement as long as I've been in this business," the snippy little manager tells me. So, as long as it's a "requirement" I decided to check out Visionworks, at half the price. WHAT A GREAT DECISION!!! I can't say enough about Dr. Lavine. He's "old school," an absolute delight to deal with; funny and capable and a GREAT communicator. When the contacts had a slight issue, he brought me back in, no charge, did a slight adjustment...perfect. I just got back from Greece...was able to see things more clearly than ever! I had lasik surgery a few years ago and Dr. I was seeing kept blaming my tired eyes on dry eye however the drops and holistic remedies provided zero relief. I decided to give Visionworks a shot and after an examination it was determined that I had eye strain and need corrective lenses to wear while working on a computer all day. To say I am particular about my glasses is an understatement. Kim and Laith were very patient and helpful, not to mention a total riot. My daughter was with me and they were so sweet to her. We did a lot of laughing, joking around while I tried on no less than 100 pairs before finally selecting the first pair Kim suggested. My eyes feel so much better! No more eye fatigue and even more important that "dry eye" feeling is gone. My son recently visited Kim and her staff for his eye exam and to purchase new glasses. He said that Kim was very helpful in helping him select two pair of glasses as well as getting him a great warranty. The glasses they selected look great on him. It was nice to send him in on his own and know that he was going to be well taken care of. Kim clearly went over his options and help him to select what was not only affordable but made sense for him at this stage in his life (a stage where he drops his glasses on the cement and kicks them across the driveway, apparently, which is why he needed new glasses in the first place). The store is clean, bright and welcoming. The selection is fantastic and the staff is friendly and helpful. Kim works hard to keep her team motivated and to set her store apart from the competition. There is ample parking nearby, as a matter of fact it was pouring rain when I went to pick up my glasses and my husband was able to drop me right at the door. Setting an appointment is easy and I have always been able to get in quickly and when it was convenient for me. I highly recommend Visionworks, but this location in particular. I have never had a more positive glasses experience! I have incredibly high power and astigmatism so glasses hunting for me is always a downer. Laith and Maxine completely changed that for me. They spent ages looking at glasses with me, calculating measurements and frame shape to find the best glasses for me that would hide the thickness. They also put me at complete ease and comfort and made the whole process actually fun. I picked up my glasses today (a whole week earlier than their estimated time) and I was blown away. I LOVE these glasses and for once can actually picture wearing them out in public instead of opting for contacts. Thank you so much Laith and Maxine. I'm happy to be alive! I survived a rollover accident. Lost the glasses I was wearing and my backup pair that were in my "open" backpack. Neither pair were recovered. My initial pair were purchased at a Visionworks when I was working in another state. After looking at Yelp reviews, I called and spoke to Aaron at the Novi store. They had the highest customer service ratings. Novi is an hour from my home. I was pleasantly greeted upon my arrival by the staff. Aaron made the drive worth while. Using the documents I had from my previous purchase, Aaron quickly reordered my glasses. He was very friendly and efficient. He also offered to call the manager at the store closest to where I live. It so happens he was her trainer and said the store recently went through a turnover of staff but under her Management the staff is better than their previous Yelp reviews. The store is immaculate and nicely arranged. They have a huge selection of frames to choose from with many top designers. Laith spent quite a bit of time helping find many frames for me to try on, then worked with me to narrow them down and ultimately choose the best ones (I bought two).
