Located in my favorite plaza in Renton, Oceanclear has a plethora of frames. They have a variety of designer brands as well as high quality eyeglasses brands. I was impressed with the variety of styles and looks. It was quite easy to find a couple pairs that I would like. Dr. Wendy Kuo was amazing! I have hit and miss luck with optometrists lately but after my experience here I foresee me coming back. Dr. Kuo was informative, helpful, and very easy to talk to. She took what my ophthalmologist had told me and related it to the type of glasses that I required. I felt like I had dialogue with her instead of being talked at or rushed, which has been some of my recent experiences with optometrists (or really many in the medical field of all kinds). It was nice because I walked away with a better understanding of how to care for my eyes. Vincent took my initial check-in procedures (pressure test and what not) and he helped me select glasses. Will fully admit I was very uncertain about him in the beginning. He was so quiet - he didn't introduce himself or really explain any of the various tests we were doing or if they were good or bad results. When Dr. Kuo told me Vincent would help me pick out frames I really was skeptical. But once he was around me for five minutes he relaxed and gave fantastic advice! Vincent really helped me find the right look. The two frames I purchased I felt confident looked good on me and fit my face. I was super pleased! The eyeglasses arrived two weeks later and I received a voicemail and email letting me know they in. They were perfect! Pickup was a breeze. Highly recommend!

The optometrist/clinical side of Kent Eye Clinic was stellar. This review is specifically about the…read moreoptical shop that sells the glasses. I received only a very slight prescription change in one eye and decided to buy a pair of pink frames from their optical shop instead of my usual Warby Parker. My husband bought glasses as well. At our second appointment, his glasses were fine, but mine were extremely blurry. I told Serena Diaz something was wrong. She took my new glasses and my old pair into the back, then returned and assured me she had checked them and the prescription was "spot on." I trusted that and spent the next three days with a blinding headache trying to adjust. Eventually I tried putting the glasses on upside down -- and suddenly I could see perfectly. The lenses had been installed in the wrong eyes. Even after explaining this, I had to schedule a third appointment rather than simply dropping them off. Another employee corrected the lenses, but the process left visible notches/cuts in them because the frames are rimless along the bottom. That required a fourth appointment. Serena told me remaking them would use my one-time warranty, even though the damage resulted from their mistake. She specifically asked whether I wanted just the lenses or the entire pair remade. I said the entire pair, because the frames no longer fit correctly after being taken apart. She also gave me the option to keep the defective pair while I waited. At my fifth appointment, Serena Diaz told me she only had replacement lenses and asked where my original frames were. When I questioned why I needed to return the glasses, she yelled across the waiting room: "THAT'S WHAT A WARRANTY IS! OTHERWISE YOU'D HAVE TWO PERFECTLY GOOD PAIRS OF GLASSES FOR FREE." Except I did not have two perfectly good pairs. I had one pair their shop had assembled incorrectly and then damaged while fixing. I returned 15 minutes later with the frames and was then told by a shop worker that the replacement frames Serena Diaz said would be available were actually not in stock and had to be ordered. Two days later, I was called to schedule my sixth appointment but they wouldn't have openings for a week. By then, more than a month had passed, so before leaving for vacation I ordered another pair from Warby Parker. Those arrived perfectly made in five days without rush shipping. At my sixth appointment, I finally received the remade glasses -- again from another employee, because Serena Diaz did not come out or speak with me. So after six appointments, more than a month, lenses installed in the wrong eyes, damaged lenses, my warranty being used to correct their mistake, contradictory information, and being yelled at in the waiting room, I finally received the glasses I originally paid for and now I don't even want to wear them because I feel so gross and scammed by the whole situation. The optometrist was excellent. I would absolutely not purchase glasses from the optical shop again.

The one positive thing I can say for the clinic is that whenever I had a problem, they were able to…read morefit me in and see me within 24 hrs, sometimes going out of their way to do so. I really appreciated that as I had a difficult year medically. But I had a number of problems with Cascade Vision. 1, they are *constantly* upselling, which I would have thought impossible for a doctor's office, but there you go. Every time I went in, whatever I went in for, there was always a necessary, over the counter product or not-covered-by -insurance procedure pushed on me which (surprise, surprise) they had available at the counter or through a special pharmacy. This gets tiresome. It also erodes trust in whatever advice the doctor is telling me about my condition. 2, I was having trouble adjusting to the glasses I bought there, for longer than the usual amount of time adjusting to a new prescription. I came back to have them checked out, just in case there was an error because everyone makes mistakes occasionally --that's human nature. The opticians got very snarky and overly defensive about that. A patient should be able to have their prescription checked out without questions. 3, I was misdiagnosed with a stye which turned out to be ocular rosacea. I saw 2 different doctors at Cascade Vision over about 3-4 months for this problem, at least a couple times a month, sometimes weekly. It seems extraordinary to me that they didn't recognize an ocular condition, which has the potential of damaging my cornea. The advice I was given (and of course, multiple products to buy!) to treat the "stye" was of course a complete waste of time and money and could have worsened the rosacea. 4. I had a diabetic eye exam and requested that the results be forwarded to my PCP. I had to make multiple requests over 6 months for that to be done, which is ridiculous, considering it could be sent in an email.

Not even close. I decided to do an eye exam online and it was $79.99 INCLUDING 6 months of contacts. If you don't have insurance....definitely don't give your business to them. If you do have insurance...don't give your business to them because you know they are just using and abusing the system. Go to Costco or literally ANYWHERE else besides here.

The doctor owners, the father and daughter duo, must train their staff better to be more culturally sensitive when working with Southeast Asian patients and not insult our racial features. Is the Optician racist? This was the only takeaway I had walking away from this experience. Not to mention the awkward front desk situation. They have two front desk people, when you are talking to one, the other front desk person just stare at you the whole time. I felt so insulted and racially profiled that I asked my husband to call and cancel my lenses with them. Also, how are lenses $240 after insurance?!!!
