Stopped in to get a copy of my son's prescription and they would not even tell me what it was because it's expired. I paid for that exam and prescription and should be entitled to know what it is! I asked to speak to the doctor and the "office manager" said she won't be in today so I asked that the dr call me tomorrow and they said she won't be in tomorrow and I said how about the next day and they said they didn't know when the doctor would be in! They seem to be constantly a work in progress at this location. It always seems to be chaotic in there. Even when it's calm looking there seems to something missing. Sloppy paperwork, lack of remembering customers, problematic scheduling and worst of all the exam process. I always feel its rushed and imprecise. I literally feel trapped for one more year with them until my insurance kicks in again in 2024. I am used to hardcore excellence in customer service, particularly eyecare. Not once was I ever explained what my insurance covered. No breakdown...just a number. I feel like one employee there has his head on his shoulders correctly - Noah. I couldn't even tell you the about any other person in there other than Christy because the rest never made themselves known. read more

Had a terrible experience here. My appointment was at 11:45 and apparently there's a 10 mins grace period which was not mentioned in the email with my appointment confirmation. Even so, I was there at 11:55. The associate didn't sign me in and came up to me saying I'm late and there's a 10 mins grace period. I stated several times that I was here at 11:55 which is within the 10 mins grace period. Another associate chimed in and said what time was your appointment, I said 11:45 and she said well then you were late and I was like but if I'm here at 11:55 I was here within the grace period. She rolled her eyes and told the other associate to go ahead and sign me in. By now it was 12:07 - 12 mins after I arrived. I waited until about 12:22 when another associate came to me and said the doctor can see you at 2.... WHAT? Why would you have signed me in if it was going to be nearly a 2 hour wait?! And what is the point of the grace period if you aren't even going to honor it? If the associates in the front had initially signed me when I did in fact meet the grace period then I could've had my appointment and been out of there. I didn't get seen not because I was late or missed the grace period.. it was because the associates chose not to sign me in and argue back and forth. She even said a 10 mins grace period is longer than most places offer.. actually a 10-15 mins grace period is actually the standard so let's not act like you're doing anyone a favor with a 10 mins grace period that you aren't even willing to actually honor. No wonder this place has horrible reviews! Poor communication and customer service. Don't even honor their own policies that they have in place. Wasted time away from my own job. This may be our fault as well but I think it's employee procedure to let a customer know about any deals going on... coupons you may have ... The worker just took my money without giving me the buy one pair full price get one pair free. I saw the promotion after the fact, still I think me and my mother should have been told instead of just charging me 450 for ONE pair of glasses. This location needs some assistance. The wait time is always longer than expected EVEN WITH AN APPOINTMENT so what's the point of making an appointment? The front desk people aren't very friendly or helpful. Doesn't seem like NOBODY know what to do and always has to go ask someone from the back. I think the supervisor name was Teresa, maybe. She was ok to speak with but not really, she was very snappy and rush through my concerns. They really need more friendly staff members and a better sense of time management because you shouldn't spend 45mins to an hour waiting when you have an appointment. Just saying. read more

I can't remember names but the entire staff was very friendly & the Dr was sweet & knowledgeable. She even showed me photos of my eye. So I've been walking around for 1 1/2 years with my eyeglasses not fitting properly. I kept going back to Visionworks in Tucker for adjustments. Never once did the technicians notice that the eyeglasses were sitting way too high on my face. I was past the expiration date to order a replacement pair. Well I finally got fed up and decided to buy a whole new pair. Luckily this time the technician (didn't get her name) laughed with me and noticed the problem! They were never adjusted correctly in the first place. She urged me to have Don take a look at them. I returned the next day and met with "Don the framer". He adjusted them with heat and patience and I walked out a happy customer! The glasses haven't given me trouble since. My sincere appreciation to the technician and Don for making me look presentable again!! read more

JUST FOR THE FRAMES! at America's Best the ray-ban frames top out at $169. a full $100 less than Visionworks. and the selection is far superior to that of Visionworks. stay away from this place and save money! read more

They have the worst customer service you can possibly think of 6 people working inside and they literally made me stand outside for 30min just to give me my sons glasses. NOT TO MENTION I was there an hour before to pick up his first pair of glasses and was told they weren't there but as soon as I drove back home they are miraculously there. I took glasses into have plano (no prescription) lenses put in them with anti reflection coating. These were for an actor to wear in a photoshoot. The manager turned me away stating that I needed a doctor's prescription to get the lenses put in. A prescription for non prescription lenses??? Completely ridiculous policy. I took them to another eye lab in town and they laughed when I told them about vision works need for a prescription on plano lenses. read more

The one word that comes to mind about my experience with this location would be extortion. Upon my exam for contacts the Dr recommends that I have a trial of three different contacts due to my astigmatism that worsen in my right eye. As for having better vision and eye care, I agreed. So for 6 weeks, try three different 2 week contacts. Cut to the chase, one of the contacts of the last trial pair they had put me on had tore right before leaving to the office. On the phone, they said sure enough they have me covered on just getting me another trial. I think I should have asked in specifics how long that would take and would they simply just give me a replacement for the ONE contact that just tore. So taking my "lunch break" to drive with one good eye from my office in Roswell to this location, they "regretfully" informed me that the new trial of contacts would take a couple days, to get in which turned to a week and some days. Great. Not the option of just providing ONE contact to replace the one that tore, with another contact that was almost the same prescription of .5 power difference that they had. Once there, I had one of the ladies that was handling my "customer service" repeat my options because I couldn't believe when I heard it the first time. Since my trials were up and the Dr approved of sticking with the brand of contacts I had prior, they wouldn't release my prescription unless I bought the contacts through them (6 boxes) directly at a higher cost which would equal to $50+ per box, instead of just buying it myself online for $30 per box. Nor would they give me another trial of contacts so I wasn't blind unless I ordered it as well or wait two weeks and then get my prescription released. I should have just left and went to another eye doctor . Pay out of pocket for another exam since my insurance company already paid them. But I paid for the year supply of contacts through them, just so this would be the last time they ever get my money. Expensive lesson learned. If I didn't have an old pair of glasses left, I would have been completely unable to see correctly for the week and some days before my trial came in as well as the order of contacts I placed. I'm -5.5 and -5 with astigmatism, so yeah, pretty blind that I wouldn't be able to function day to day with out visual aid. So finally after a week and 2-3 days, they leave me a voice mail that my order and trials of contacts are ready for pickup. When I arrived, they informed that I didn't have to test me again with the trials and just use the box contacts I ordered. So why did I even have wait to get trials again in the first place?!? Unless you're getting a super deal on glasses. I'd just go to another store and save yourself a headache and getting hustled. read more

Came in for an appointment for standard eye exam. While I waited to be seen, I looked at the frames they had available. I don't think the staff cleans/sanitized their frames often because there were makeup residue, grease and thumbprints on almost all the frame. Big turnoff. Finally saw the doctor and did the whole procedure. She then recommends for me to get my eyes dilated and although I was a bit hesitant at first, I allowed for her put the drops in my eyes. She then takes me to an an associate, Sabrina, to check me out. Before leaving us, she mentions to her that I was dilated. Sabrina gives me some helpful information, but then tells me I'm "good to go." This was when my whole experience went completely downhill. A little confused, I said my thank yous and walked out to my car. I should have walked right back in but I didn't. I started to drive and thus began all the wonkiness. My eyes were beginning to strain and became very sensitive. The doctor did tell me I would be alright driving if I got my eyes dilated but my eyes were so bothered I had to pull over. I call back, Sabrina answers, I ask her if the doctor was suppose to still see me after the dilation, and she responds YES. I'm livid. WHY WOULD YOU TELL ME I WAS GOOD TO GO????? She doesn't apologize, but just asks me if I can come back. I ask to speak to the manager, Teresa, and she apologizes and all that fluff. I'm angry. I go back, and no one even wants to talk to me. Not even Sabrina, the girl who let me go without even thinking to stop me while I walked out the door. I'm angry and I will never recommend anyone to ever go here again. read more

They used to be in the mall nearby and I loved the staff and drs. Since they moved to the new location, it's terrible. Extremely poor communication between all staff members and customers. No one greeted us at the door and I had to ask where to sign in. We waited for 30 min past my appointment time and the dr called us back before the pretests had been done. He had to ask one of the clerks to do so my pretests and she barely spoke the entire time. Got back in with the dr., he was fine and answered out questions. Got back out to the front and sat down to buy the glasses and the clerk had no idea how to find my insurance info. It was like day 1 for her and 45 min later she told us that they don't take my insurance and someone should have checked on that first thing. So many dropped balls. It was like no one was in charge. Left. Called two other places and they looked my stuff up in 30 seconds. Complete lack of leadership and management. PS, the clerk wants her privates pierced. I should not know that. Picked up my new glasses today. Something is off. They don't seem to fit as good as they did when I originally tried on a pair. The employee @ the eyeglass fitting station was helpful enough in trying to get them right, but I feel like after all we did they are still off a little. I went over to the rack to try on the "floor model" again so I could compare the two, but the model I chose was not there anymore. When I ordered the glasses I requested a brand new frame since I was paying for them. Especially once I found out that their normal practice is to change out the lenses and give you back the floor model with your new lenses in them. You heard right, you get the pair that everyone has been trying on. When I drop $300-$500 on a "new" pair of glasses, I want a NEW pair of glasses. The employee that took my order ensured me that I would get new frames since I requested them, but after seeing that the pair I picked out wasn't on the floor anymore, I am hesitant to believe that this actually happened. I may have to return for a few more adjustments in order to get these to fit right. Which is a pain in the butt ...but all in all, I CAN SEE NOW! And that has me very excited. Be warned though, if you want a NEW pair of frames VS the floor model they give you, be sure and ask for it when you order your lenses. I had no idea I was going to get the "used" floor model if I didn't bring it up in conversation myself. read more

I should have left when I overheard someone mention that she spent 4 hours there the other day. Since when is getting a pair of glasses as painful as buying a car?! It took TWO HOURS to order one basic pair of glasses. In addition, Larry tried to sell me anti-glare without telling me how much it would cost, only that my insurance provided a discount (which turned out to only be 20%). When I told him the anti-glare was too expensive (which clearly suggests I am price conscious) he ordered fancier lenses without even checking with me. This location is a nightmare. The staff is rude and twice I watched the receptionist hang up on customers while I was in the waiting room. I ordered contacts and it took over a month to receive my order...which is strange because they order from 1-800 contacts which at most takes 7 days. I opted not to buy glasses here because of the rudeness I encountered from the receptionist up to the doctor. I had a bad experience here!! I will NEVER GO BACK AGAIN!!! I originally went on March 15, and I am just now getting my glasses yesterday, April 12. Visit # 1, **Sat for over 2 hours before I was even seen, then back and forth from the exam room took another 2 hours, equaling over 4 hours out of my day. **I have vision insurance, but after the guy added a bunch of stuff that I didn't ask for, he quoted me over $500 that I would have owed them.. I'm not a math genius, but I'm no fool either!! after I had him to take off al the additional, unwanted extras, it bought the total of my glasses to a little over $200. and not to mention, they tried to give me the pair of sample glasses off of the display, (not and I'm paying my good money) **Also, I tried to tell the Eye Doctor that I could not see out of the left contact, and he told me that's how I was supposed to see, wear them for a week and it should improve. Visit # 2 - follow up. **Told the Doctor that I could not see out of the left contact and he again, tried to tell me that's how I should see.. and I pretty much argued with him until he decided to change it. The new trial pair he gave me right then, I was able to see out of perfectly!! (Finally!) ** Now to the glasses I ordered, As soon as I put the glasses on, I was like "Whoa, I cant see out of the right eye", it was way too strong!! and once again, he tried to tell me that's because I needed to get use to them, wear them for a week. So, I was mad, but said, Ok **Then I noticed a gap between the both lenses and the frame that was big enough for me to stick my finger nail through, so once again. I had to leave the glasses and pick them up later that evening. **took over 2 1/2 hours again, (then had to come back to get the glasses that I left) Visit #3 - Follow up ** told the Dr that contacts were fine but, That I still could not see out of the glasses, (just like i said on visit # 2) So this Dr, tried to give me some bogus reason as to why I am seeing blurry out of these glasses, so at this point, I became pissed off, but in a very calm way, I explained to him that I when I put on a pair of glasses that it should not make me feel dizzy or that I can't judge the distance of something in front of me. I should not feel like I am going to trip and fall when I have them on, or that I am going to run into the back of the car in front of me!! I stated that I wasn't leaving until I got a different prescription!! So finally he changed it, and I could see a lot better, but I still don't think its the correct Rx. **And once again!! After they changed the Prescription out on the right eye, the new lens had a huge gap, big enough for me to stick my finger nail through. So I gave the glasses back to one of the girls and asked her to send them back to get adjusted and she began to tell me that The glasses are supposed to have a gap in them because of the thickness of the Rx changes the way the lens fits in.. So I told her that I had just had another lens tightened or adjusted the week before, but because they changed the lends, it needed to be adjusted again.. she continued to become argumentative with me, so at that point, I snapped on her and told her that I wasn't going to argue with her, but that she was going to send the glasses back so that they can be adjusted.. So she got an attitude snatched the glasses off of the counter and sent them to the back. Visit # 4 **Finally got the glasses, the lenses were better, but still didn't sit flush with the frame, but by that point I just didn't ever want to step foot back in this place, but I think I will have to, because the right lens still feels a little bit too strong. **** I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE AGAIN **** read more

The Vision Works I usually go to is kind of slow so I went to this one instead, but I was mostly ignored the whole time. The ladies helping me called the branch that I usually went to get them to send over my prescription. However, that branch misplaced my prescription. But I didn't know that until I called the other branch myself because the ladies at this Vision Works weren't following up at all. I spent almost 3 hours in there without them bothering to help me at all. And when I left and explained that the other branch lost my prescription, she barely gave me a response at all. I visited this location on February 24 and I am finally able to pick my glasses up today (March 9) but not without a three hour wait due to Shakeela being left to handle the store alone. The two other employees were horrible (young women). One has the worst attitude ever and when asked to adjust the examination equipment, she placed a bag containing what I believe was her dinner on the exam table. The other young lady remained but did absolutely nothing while Shakeela hustled about the store to TRY to deal with a growing crowd. I would say that the store was understaffed but I believe that with TEAM PLAYERS, Shakeela would've been able to better assist. So after a 1 and a half hour wait, the doctor rushes through the exam and I'm left to wait an additional 1 and a half hours to be checked out by Shakeela. I came the next day to learn that the order had been submitted incorrectly (no surprise) and I would have to come back on an unspecified date to pick my glasses up. After another day passes, I call the store again to learn that my glasses will be ready on March 9. I call today, March 9, and the young man tells me that it will take another day. ONCE AGAIN SHAKEELA TO THE RESCUE...She calls me back to tell me that the young man made a mistake and that my glasses were ready for pickup. Having patronized the store in Cumberland Mall, this store is a disgrace to your brand. Living in Tucker now, I doubt seriously that I would even consider another Visionworks EVER! read more
