I had to change insurance providers a couple of years ago and lost access to a great network of doctors, so since then, I've been looking for a eye practice that I trust. I saw Dr. Rabitsch this week and was very impressed by her and by the practice as a whole. I think I will be staying here for a good long time. I have an old eye injury that means I have to exercise extra care and also have severe dry eye. In searching for a new eye doctor home, I created one-pager for new doctors just so I don't need to explain timeline of the injury, followup treatment and key diagnoses. For the first time in visiting new eye doctors, it was 100% clear to me that yes, Dr. Rabitsch had looked at the medical paperwork I'd filled out ahead of time. Not only that, but the nurse/assistant who saw me prior to seeing Dr. R also had reviewed the paperwork. Wow. That seems so simple, but having been to other eye doctors in the past couple years, it's not the norm. Both the assistant and doctor also repeatedly checked into to make sure they knew my goals in coming and were great about explaining what they were doing and why. I ended up getting an eye exam (which I needed, but hadn't planned on) and while the Dr. invited me to use their optical department, there wasn't any hard sell. Due to my injury, I tend to need a new, expensive prescription about every year, so I mentioned a place I get my glasses. She shared that they have a budget frame line and gave me a rough estimate of what my prescription would likely cost there. That is just the info I need without feeling guilty b/c I'm not immediately planning to get glasses there, and as I look at getting my glasses made, I may very well end up back at the practice to purchase them. Yes, as one review noted, there may be a little extra wait time, but for a doctor one doesn't generally see that often, I can live with wait time if I know and trust that the medical team is going to be thorough in the exam and be clear about their explanations to me. read more

Several months ago, I visited this practice as my longtime eye doctor retired. My appointment was scheduled for 8:30. I waited 45 minutes before being seen. At no point did anyone update me. As part of te exam, the doctor changed my contact prescription which happens from time to time. No big deal. However, he also changed my brand. I agreed to try out the new prescription and the new brand. Neither worked. From April - June, I left no less than 5 messages without a return call. I finally received a call back indicating they could revert to my old prescription and contacts' brand. 3 weeks ago, I stopped by the office again. New contacts were allegedly being ordered. Again, I have followed up multiple times via text and voice mail...no response. Not only will I not be returning, but I also strongly encourage anyone to find somewhere else to go. read more

A final update, because people need to be aware of how these people work. Having spent 6 months emailing and calling to try to speak with someone about this, GA Eye Associates instead decided to turn me over to collections. I had two months to respond, and waited until the clock had almost run out to do so. I responded with copies of emails, and a chronological accounting of every effort I had made to contact these idiots. I have never heard anything back from collections or GEA. My credit score (which was excellent) took a small 2 month hit, but rebounded and more. Sleaziest of the sleazebags. Petty. God help you if you choose this practice. read more

My first visit to any eye doctor for glasses wasn't great on 3/28. I was referred to her by my dental hygienist. I wouldn't recommend this location. Dr. Rabitsha, is nice enough but I waited almost two hours to be seen. After seeing the doctor I sat with Eve and she was only able to offer me two pairs of frames in my budget. When the first pair came in, I was never called that they were in to pick up-I was told they left me a VM. (I had no VM or missed calls from the the office) and when I picked them up and tried them on in office I couldn't see a thing. Eve informed me it would take some time for my eyes to adjust and to wear them as much as I could that day. It felt very much like I was being dismissed. Nope, wore them all day, or tried to, because I had to work and couldn't see my screens at all. Went back for another appointment where I waiting in a very uncomfortable HOT waiting room for a quite some time past my appointment time-and it after more testing, it was the wrong prescription. RE-ordered my glasses. This was over two weeks ago (4/21) and I still am without glasses. I am not sure if this is just standard for all eye doctors or not, but I did not feel taken care of. The friendliest people there are the ladies that sit at the reception desk. At this point I feel this was a waste of $400. read more

Do not use Georgia Eye Associates for your cataract surgery if you want responsive, responsible and caring service. I used Dr Gillian who appeared to not have a clue as to what he was doing for my Light Adjustable Lens procedure. Did not explain what he was doing during the procedure, and, at one time, he yelled at me to stay still but never told me for how long nor the pain that I would encounter. He also kept me waiting in their "intermediary" waiting room for over an hour during one visit with no one coming by to say anything. When I asked questions on the patient portal, NEVER heard back from anyone to this day (6 months later)!! For this I spent $5,000 per eye and still do not have "good" vision as promised. If you want to spend your $$ on someone that just doesn't care about your well-being as a patient, I urge you to go there! I am weighing my options beside just web postings. read more

The staff was really nice! My only complaint is my experience trying to get glasses. The associat helped me find the right glasses but when she told me the price for them it was ridiculously high. I asked her whay so much and she stated" its not the frames its the lenses" so with my insurance of $350 for glasses she came back that i owed an extra $700 for the lenses. I will never go back because i got same presciption lenses at another store For 90% less than their greedy price! read more

Been going to see Dr. Rabitsch for about 7 years with pretty good results, issue started when dealing with Eva in the optical department. Basically I've been wearing progressives for the past 3 years, and for some reason when I went to Costco (better price) to have the prescription filled (third year) the prescription was NOT for progressives, they were for reading and computer ONLY. So I called Eva and had Costco (Dr Peter) explain his findings, and she basically start arguing with him stating that he was being rude, for identifying the error, which again, were for reading and computer only. After driving multiple time back and forth, I asked Eva to refund the $25.00 fee she charged for the optical evaluation, at which point she should have noticed my prescription for the last two years were for progressives, NOT reading. She stated, if I purchased the glasses from a third party, their policy does not allow refunds. I've been a patient for 7 years, if not longer and that's the argument I get !!! So I asked to speak with Toni the manager over the optical department. She calls me back and basically says, yes that's the policy. So at that point I can tell she was not interested in customer retention. So hopefully I'll get my credit. I'll keep you posted read more

I will not return to this office. I ordered some glasses from them a few years ago. The optometrist was fine. Unfortunately the frames were defective. The customer support I received was abysmal. I found out the frames had been recalled only by visiting another optometrist's office who was able to find another frame that fit my lenses. read more

I am a patient of Dr. Rabitsch for close to 15yrs. I had to switch from 2018 to 2023 due their contract with my insurance carrier. I scheduled an appt for my annual eye exam in 2023, I have gone back and forth with their billing dept, Janet, and my ins carrier due the their office billed the incorrect code for my annula eye exam. My summary from their office clearly states chief complaint annual eye exam. I would like to know why my appt was scheduled as a follow up appt for glaucoma. I do not have glaucoma nor did I schedule an appt for glaucoma f/u, this visit processed towards my medical benefits instead of my vision plan. My last appt with Dr. Rabitsch was 2018. No one listens in the front office nor billing dept. I have told them a thousand times there is no need to send to my carrier for review bc they process the claim the way it's received from the provider. This issue has gone on for over a year and now it's too late for me to appeal. I do not understand why they cannot send a corrected claim to be processed. I hate to sever ties with Dr. Rabitsch but I need a billing department who is competent enough to research and bill correctly. Listen to the patients! read more

Doctors here are professional. They thoroughly examine and provide good care and follow up. The one and only complaint is optical department in Lawrenceville location. Stay away from this. You will get ripped off left and right without mercy. You'll feel cheated and let down. I learned it the hard way. Will never ever visit this department. 1 star is one too many. read more

This is by far the best eye doctor I've ever been to, and I've been wearing glasses/contacts for 17 years. I went because I had suffered from a corneal ulcer which made it almost unbearable to be in the light. The Worst excuse for a dr.s office! My mom had an eye exam scheduled 10:30 am... For which they sat for 45 minutes before being seen. There was another older woman who had been waiting for about as long. When she made the appointment, she informed them that she wanted to see an ophthalmologist.. as she has one functional eye... Instead, she was seen by anyone you'd see in a mall type establishment.. only twice the price. Then this person proceeded to tell her she would need to come back to be seen by another Dr. What a freaking joke! She also attempted to say they would be able to improve vision in an eye that had an optic nerve that had been permanently damaged from brain surgery.. that nerve is non repairable.. as per her neurosurgeon and several ACTUAL .... Opthalmologists . Claiming she would need to return for further tests.. worthless!! As we've been told.. is someone claims they can repair an optic nerve..they are a sham.. to run, tun fast. Needless to say.. she will NOT . EVER.. be returning to a practice that is hard sell..and so poorly run.. They inform you that appointments broken within a time frame before your appointment.. They should be charged for wasting people's time. Save yourself the time, aggravation and money . Go to Costco, Sam's, the mall.. Drive past this place. read more

Went here for the first time as it was on my new insurance plan. Waited 40 minutes before being seen. The Dr. came in, spoke really fast, and tried pushing contact lenses on me. I asked for separate eye glass prescriptions for single vision, bifocals, and progressives. She wouldn't do it and insisted on writing only one commenting a good eyeglass technician will know what do do. This doctor didn't even say if my Rx had changed from my current eyeglass prescription. She then called her assistant to take me to their in-house eyeglass shop. Won't be going back. read more

First, let me start by saying that I have been a patient of Dr. Rabitsch as well as my husband since 2013. I really enjoyed going to her because she was always thorough and a very good practitioner, at that time! But something changed at my annual appointment last year in January! I ALWAYS get a RX for Restasis (for dry eyes). Well, when I asked her for the RX for it she hesitated, then told me she had something else she wanted me to try that was better than the eye drops. She has been my eye doctor for some years now and I trusted her, so I was willing to try them, What she gave me was a sample pack of vitamins ( 3 if I am not mistaken)! She did tell me the benefits of the vitamins long term versus using Restasis. She then handed me a sheet of paper with the different amount of bottles that can be purchased. For example 1 bottle, 2 bottles, or 3 bottles. She then handed me a sheet of paper with the information on the vitamins on it, but there were NO PRICES listed. So when I called the # to find out the cost, my jaw hit the floor when I heard the cost of 1 bottle of a 30 day supply of the vitamins - over $ 60!! Now of course it was cheaper the more bottles you ordered at one time, BUT... how can I tell how well they work with only a sample of THREE?? AND, I had ZERO complaints about the eye drops, I was only trying them because she asked me too!!! So then I starting thinking, why is she trying to get me to buy these EXPENSIVE Vitamins that I know nothing about! I came to the conclusion, she is probably getting a kickback from every bottle she sells! Now, I could very well be wrong, but I don't think so! Not unusual at all, lots of medical professionals do it. You see, I have been a nurse for over 40 years! I have not only worked here in Ga, but also in New York and Washington DC! I know how they do!! Then this past year when I went for my annual exam in January, I had a exam for contacts and eye glasses. When I went to get the RX for the eye glasses filled at a retail store, he questioned me about the RX, but I told him it was from the same doctor that I have seen for years so I didn't think anything was wrong with it! That was, until I received my glasses about 3 weeks later...My distance vision was fine, but I could NOT see or read anything up close! I couldn't see the words on my laptop with out taking my glasses off, I could not read books, magazines or my phone without taking my glasses off! Now at this late date I felt like there was nothing I could do about it. But, I had already made my mind up not to return to the practice. Because I am a diabetic as is my husband, and if she can't give me a correct eye glass RX, is she doing a proper eye exam?? I don't know And I am not willing to take that chance now that I have doubts! read more

Absolutely awesome experience! I came because of an eye infection yesterday. From the receptionist, to the assistant, to the doctor to the office manager - everyone was friendly, polite and respectful. The office is spacious, really well maintained and sparkly clean. Dr Rabitsch did a thorough eye exam, reassured me that she can help me get rid of the infection, and sent the Rx electronically to my pharmacy - and all that with a smile and being attentive to what I had to say and to my needs. Dr. Kris Gillian has horrible bedside manner. He does not understand the basics of cultural differences. His demeanor towards us was unprofessional and lacked respect. I am deeply disappointed in his approach in treating my father and our overall experience. I hope this is a warning for any future patient to go with another ophthalmologist. read more

Her name is Angelina, she was my rock at that moment of me trying to figure out what to do. She was very helpful, so I finally got in to set up my payment. The Doctors were great.But the staff and level Of customer service were awful.This place is a small facility and is only open very limited hours Monday-Friday.It also took them almost 2 weeks just to order a trial pair of contacts! Every time I would reach out to the person in charge of the contacts and lens department. I got her voicemail.I wouldn't even get a call back for days at a time.Needless to say I'm sticking with the big places like America's best that have better and more convenient hours and efficient customer service. read more

Worn Contact6s for 50+ years. Extremely nearsighted. Vision degraded where I could not even read street signs. Visited Georgia Eye Associates in Tucker. Dr. Rabitsch. She quickly determined I had a bad cataract in the right eye (my worst eye), and developing one in the right. Referred me to Dr. Gillian, who also saw me in Tucker. This man is a wizard. In short, we scheduled surgery (after having to wear glasses for a month to get my eyes back to normal from the contacts) two weeks apart for each eye. The surgery took less than a half hour, was painless, and I walked out both times not only with the cataracts removed, but also with new eye lenses that allowed me to see perfectly without any corrections!!! (i.e. contacts or glasses). I now see distance perfectly, computer screens, and even read! I am only unhappy I can only give 5 stars. read more

I've been going there for ten years. A patient of Dr. Rabitsch and I've also seen by Dr. Mullen. They listen, they give options, they work with you to solve your eye problems based on what you do with your career and for recreation, they don't try to steer you in one direction or another until they know who you are and what you do. Always a Pleasant Experience I have been seeing Dr. Gillian at Georgia Eye Associates for about 15 years. He is very pleasant, sharp and detailed. Due to the shape of the nerve in my eye, and my family history, I am being monitored each visit for glaucoma. Dr. Gillian has explained the details of the images he is looking at and what they mean. To date everything checks out and my eyes remain healthy. Last year I was unable to see Dr. Gillian for one of my visit and saw Dr. Peeler instead. She was equally capable and my visit went as smoothly as all of my previous visits. I feel like I'm receiving excellent care from both of these doctors. Kudos to Janet (the office manager in Tucker) for processing my new insurance (my previous insurer is now my secondary insurance) and providing me with info to get the best cost benefits from that insurance. All of the staff are pleasant, friendly, and professional. I would recommend this office for anyone looking for excellent eye care. read more

Dr. Kris Gillian and his staff at Georgia Eye Associates have given me new eyes after a lifetime of glasses. I never knew what I had been missing while wearing glasses for over 60 years. For many, cataract surgery is dreaded...needlessly. As far back as I can remember tops of trees were just green blurs. Just about daily I look out now and marvel at the leaves on trees and the color of birds. Recently, I experienced Dry Eye. Dr. Gillian diagnosed, treated and ended 90+% of my dry eye condition. Dr. Gillian and his staff are professional, personable, knowledgeable and more than proficient at their trade. I could not be more pleased. Without hesitation or reservation, I recommend Dr. Gillian and Georgia Eye Associates. I visited this office in order to find some HOTT new specs. I was immediately greeted with a smile. Mr. Carson and his staff did an excellent job in ordering some glasses that I has seen on a luxury site. They were able to order and ship the glasses directly to my house in a matter of two weeks. They provided excellent customer service and was able to answer all of my questions, and their were many, but they answered all of my questions, and most importantly with a smile. Being unable to see through a retinal re-attachment scar in the central vision field of my left eye for 22 years; but, having normal sight in the rest of my left eye, and being told by another vision provider who refused to quote any percentage of improved post-surgery vision I could expect in either eye, that I would require glasses after cataract/intra-ocular lens implant surgery, I concluded that I would be lucky to have my contact lens prescription of -14 for pronounced near - sightedness reduced by half to a -7. So I decided to seek a second opinion with Georgia Eye Associates, and it may be the best decision I have made in the last 22 years. To prevent trying to look through the distortion produced by the retinal scar for 22 years, I closed the left eye when I read; however, all areas of my left eye surrounding the central scarred area which I knew could not be improved - have improved so much that I now read with both eyes open. As quickly as the day of surgery, I was astounded by the amazing crisp, clear detail and vivid field of vision I now have with 20/25 vision in my right eye and may be able to have 20/20 vision in my right eye at the end of the healing period of two weeks. In both eyes, I now am driving with astoundingly precise close and distance vision, and even my night blindness has greatly diminished with much less glare than before surgery, and I am requiring no glasses at all for my vision, except dollar-store magnification glasses for reading mice type. How I wish all surgeons wielded the exceptional skills of Dr. Gillian. I truly never imagined that I could ever experience this amazing quality of vision, again. Thank you, Dr. Gillian. The receptionist acts very indifferent to customers when they arrive...not welcoming. The lady that does the preliminary screening never, ever smiles. The hours on their website differs from the hours that the office is actually open. And...they like to make you wait, a long time...in fact, the last eye exam took over 2 hours...and the doctor was with me for about 10 minutes of that total time. This is not an isolated incident either...same thing happens with my wife...I don't understand it. read more

I was contacted directly by the doctor about my review, but chose not to follow up. At least this level of contact indicates that they are seeking to resolve issues. Nevertheless, our issues were not really able to be resolved by an apology or by further discussions.
