They provide you with a personal consultant who assists you to find a good match for the patient. They check in regularly and are very communicative which is one of the most important values to me. They are affordable as well and I definitely plan to use them again and again. My coordinator was Neca and she was so amazing at helping every step of the way.

It's Friday and I've still heard absolutely nothing. Not even an acknowledgment. No "Thanks, we received your email. Someone will get back to you." Or even a "Sorry, we can't help you." Just... no reply at all. I'd much rather be writing a review based on my experience with the company's actual services, but unfortunately they've apparently chosen not to give me that opportunity. My only experience with 1-1 Care has been being completely ignored, so I'm basing my rating on that alone. Have they gone out of business? Shut the office down for a week of summer vacation? Or maybe business is just so good that they can afford to ignore prospective clients. Is this the new normal? To me, this isn't a minor lapse. This is a business built on trust, reliability, and communication, where time is often of the essence and people's quality of life and health are at stake. Completely ignoring multiple inquiries over the course of a business week strikes me as careless and irresponsible, and a failure to get even the basics of customer service right. I'll leave it up to anyone reading this review to decide whether this complete lack of response, and seeming contempt for a prospective customer, might be indicative of other aspects of the way this company does business.

The second night No one came at scheduled 9pm. After hours of phone calls a caregiver came at 11;30 pm. She woke the patient and wife at 7am to to give the Breakfast instant cereal that I had set out. When she arrived in the middle of the night I specifically told her not to wake the patient and not to serve breakfast unless he woke and requested it. The third night the original person came. As on the first night I gave a wide kitchen chair with arms and a pillow to maker it softer. I had discussed this specific arrangement when the care manager came to start the service documentation earlier in the day. The caregiver choose to sit in another room in an easy chair. No emergencies happened that night. The next night she again chose the easy chair and did not hear the extremely loud beeping of the infusion machine error alert. By the time she arrived in the bedroom the patient was sitting on the side of the bed trying to fix the machine. They moved into the kitchen where the patient was trying to phone help. At this point I appeared while the home help person leaned against the refrigerator reading her cell phone compared with agencies I've worked with before for home health this was the worst experience.

The overall experience was very smooth--from meeting the care coordinator Natalie and signing the forms to making final arrangements by text. Everyone here was warm and helpful. A special shoutout to my caregiver, Candy, who was lively and fun. After I got home, I slept for a couple of hours, and when I woke up we chatted--the conversation helped me stay alert and shake off the grogginess from the anesthesia. Being Chinese, Candy understood my needs at home, and that cultural awareness was especially comforting while recovering on my own. Hopefully I won't need surgery again--but if I do, I'll be calling California Seniors Care!

She made me feel that my dad was in good hands even before the ride began. Natalie Nelson was the wonderful person who picked up my dad from the hospital. She arrived earlier than our scheduled time and even texted me, saying, "Take your time." That meant so much to me because I knew she understood how stressful a hospital discharge can be. The hospital process was extremely slow, and Natalie ended up waiting for more than 45 minutes. But she never complained or showed any frustration. She continued to be so warm, patient, cheerful, and compassionate. What touched my heart the most was what my dad said afterward. He told me, "This lady is so nice! How do you know her? Is she your friend?" That says everything. Natalie treated my dad not like a new client, but like an old friend she had known for years. Her kindness was genuine, and I could feel that she truly cared about my dad--not just as a passenger, but as a person. During a difficult and stressful day, her compassion brought us so much comfort. I will never forget how she treated my dad with such dignity, patience, and kindness. It truly touched my heart. Thank you so much, Danielle and Natalie, for making a difficult day a little easier for our family. I wholeheartedly recommend this service to anyone who needs medical transportation. You will be in caring and compassionate hands.

My 75-year-old mother underwent necessary brain surgery three weeks ago. Three days before surgery, she had a ground-level fall, tore her rotator cuff, and sustained a small fracture. Because the surgery could not be deferred, she proceeded as planned but required significant care at home afterward. She had been fully independent, and although she lives with my father, the caregiving needs were beyond his comfort level. I was able to help for a few days after her discharge, but it was clear they would need additional support for her to remain safely at home. The hospital nurses were wonderful, but my mom needed assistance even with basic tasks like repositioning in bed and using the restroom, as her left arm was immobilized. Our hospital care coordinator connected us with Amy, the client care manager for Family Matters, who met us at home right away. She performed a thorough evaluation and took the time to understand my parents' needs and preferences. Almost immediately, we were connected with KJ, the Director of Operations, who coordinated the caregiving schedule. She ensured an excellent match with caregivers and that coverage was consistent and reliable. Communication was seamless--KJ was always responsive and proactive with updates, and we never felt out of touch. My mom especially wanted to recognize her primary daytime caregiver, Maria. Maria was attentive, warm, and incredibly experienced, with over 20 years in caregiving. She is also an excellent cook and was especially skilled in helping my mom with more vulnerable tasks like showering. The other caregivers who supported nights and weekends were also wonderful. The team clearly put thought and care into matching personalities and backgrounds, which made a meaningful difference. Over the following weeks, my mom gradually regained her independence, and we were able to scale back care smoothly. The team made adjustments easy and seamless. We would absolutely use Family Matters again. This was our first experience with a caregiving service, and we were initially apprehensive, but they made the entire process easy, supportive, and reassuring. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

Even more challenging is finding caregivers you can truly trust during such a vulnerable stage of life. A very special thank you to Family Matters, and my father's caregiver, Sade. He is under hospice care with advanced dementia, and can barely speak. Sade is consistently patient, and kind, and gives me complete peace of mind whenever she's caring for him. Most importantly, she engages with him and makes him feel seen. This is in sharp contrast to other caregivers we've experienced who are often on their phones and treat him as if he's invisible. I'm also especially grateful for KJ who manages the caregivers and scheduling. While other agencies haven't taken the time to meet my father or me in person, KJ made it a priority to get hands-on training to fully understand my father's caregiving needs. Because of this, she's been able to step in to provide training and support which is a huge godsend given my limited bandwidth. She even proactively revised the caregiving shift note template to make it clearer and more helpful for our caregiving team. Family Matters has truly exceeded our expectations because they understand the real meaning of caregiving. On top of that, their participation in the Veterans Assistance Program, which requires stricter qualifications provides an added layer of confidence and experience.
