We picked this place because it's beautiful and everyone working there is very nice. They have nice amenities and mom could be social and meet some nice residence. It is a very expensive place but because mom wouldn't have to move as her needs changed we thought it would be best. She lived at Eagle Point for just over 2 years on a month to month lease and my mom passed away on 4/8/2026. They had her money for rent for the month of April and level 2 assisted living. Since they did not provide care for most of April we were expecting a refund for assisted living portion and was told we would be receiving it. But they took rent out of the refund for May until the 8th. Instead of getting over a thousand back we got just over $200. Just want anyone moving there to beware of this. Also thinking she would not have to move even if she ran out of money was not true. Your put on a waiting list and if there is not a studio available you have to leave. At over $5k a month to live there paying her own way over 2 years we had that worry. CNA were very nice but they did go through a lot of new ones in the 2 years. If it weren't for Hospice care coming in addition the Eagle Point staff, mom would not have had the care she needed in her last couple months. CNA's at Eagle Point do not have a good leader and they do not have enough of them. They are over worked and frequently need to rush to another resident feeling like they couldn't provide the care they wanted to give. I know options for this type of living are not good. If we could have found a place for mom to have in house care we would have done that towards her last months.

Gracewood in Highland Park is a very well run place. The administrator Sara is who it starts with…read more She trains her employees well and every time I have walked into the provider you see very caring employees not just doing their jobs but actually go above and beyond to make sure all their clients are well cared for. The employees I feel so little things for the individuals they serve to make sure they are treated with dignity and respect. Joy is the head nurse and she also does a great job. It is about team building and making sure new ideas are brought up to make sure residents are loved and cared for. I am so glad my mother in law care coordinator recommend to check out Gracewood when I was told there might be an open bed. They are very much about team approach.

The staff is like a family who are looking out and always interested but also give mom respect and privacy. She has had a variety of ups and downs and everyone including the house manager, the nurse and the staff all are honest and kind with me to keep me informed and connected even when I can't be with Mom as much as I wish. All the staff seem to really like the residents and visit and chit chat when they can. I am so appreciative that I am never "nickel and dimed" for all the little things like someone helping Mom to get dressed sometimes or doing a quick coat of paint on her nails. The building smells good and is decorated for seasons and holidays. It is relatively small which we all like so that Mom can stay active and have some freedom even though her dementia is significant. Her geriatrician visited and made a house call and was very impressed at how well rooms and overall layout were designed to accommodate the needs of elderly and ability to integrate different levels of cognitive and physical abilities together. Management is terrible, they expect all these expectations/high quality services from staff and employees but cant seem to notice that they're over working us. We are so tired trying to keep up with the pace of the work load. Doing our very best in every possible way to provide the best quality care for our residents. We love our job, thats why we tend to stay here so long and work for our residents. Please higher more people to put on the floor or give us a raise. So it seems like our work is actually worth something because the work load and pay isn't balanced. Additionally, instead of providing all these educational learning resources, because of how many warnings this building has gone through. Maybe we should look at why it even happened that way in the first place. Because literally everything we do is in a time crunch, of course accidents are bound to happen. Like it would be nicer if you hired more people to work, the work will be evenly distributed. There would be less of a rush and for things to be done correctly/accurately. But that int a topic y'all are ready to talk about because we know y'all can afford to hire more people to work but choose not to. Lastly, standing up for staff and employees. We are usually the first people to get accused of something and not even our own employer stands up for us. Which is why so many people leave. For example, one staff member that used to work there was accused of abusing a resident and was interrogated by police officers. After the interrogation they literally begged her to stay and work because they were so short staffed. When she was supposed to go on leave due to the allegations, and for an investigation. It was probably so traumatic for her but they just expected her to continue working. When her livelihood was on the line. Which just demonstrates that there is no support for their staff and employees. So furthermore, do a better job, there is a lot of improvements that need to be made. Im even surprised this place is still running and operating when administration is doing bare minimum and it just trickles down to all of us.

It is also very effective. My personal experience is that I came to the gym one year ago. I was using a four wheel walker and my strength and balance were poor. One year later I am now walking independently...and I don't need a nap after each class! The person that I hold responsible for this improvement is Jeff. He comes to the program with a strong background. He is dedicated to each of his boxers and is constantly working to improve the program and gym. He also spends a tremendous amount of time researching Parkinsons and is a wonderful resource. I can't thank Jeff enough for the difference he has made in my life.
