Poor job of investigating vehicles, lacked knowledge of existing major issue. Check engine light shortly after driving off the lot, for two bad catalytic converters (both sides $2k fix). The truck I bought appeared to be in great shape, salesmen told me it had no issues, that they have a shop check everything over in detail. My guess is at some point they used a short term additive to fix the engine light, lasted just long enough for me to test drive and get down the road. After politely following up and asking for some help, I was told to kick rocks (not literally, just 'sorry vehicle sold as-is'). Dealing with Christian Taylor (salesman) was great, I appreciated him, but the establishment as a whole is not to be trusted. read more

DO NOT buy a car from this company. I bought my used 2018 Subaru Forester with over 119k miles July 2025, and not even a week or two later the Check Engine light came on amongst a ton of other lights. I had to pay to take it in to get it looked at by their service guy, and since the light went off when the guy got there they couldn't do anything but recommend an oil change etc. so I paid way too for that just to have the issue continue and when I called them and wanted to speak with the manager I never received a call back (single mom here) Very disappointed and I feel very taken advantage of. I should've never gotten this car but a friend's family member worked there and I trusted them. Not my friend's fault, she didn't know but lesson learned. If you're able to finance through somewhere where you can buy the car new or get it financed elsewhere, or make sure that they are approved through CUDL do it, these guys aren't and I assume there's a reason for that hints the Reviews.... Bought a car from them on 12/7/24. Nothing but problems since. I've spent over $2,400 chasing an oil leak that was causing burnt oil smoke to come into the passenger area of the car. This started happening only 150 miles after I purchased it. After arguing with them back and forth for over a week, I finally was able to convince them to reluctantly cover half of a $3,000 mechanic bill. Multiple other issues were found by my certified mechanic after that too. A bad turbo for one and a cracked inner core frame. After showing them the pictures of the damage found all they could do then was recommend one of their mechanic shops to take it too which of course would cost me a whole lot more money. Stay away from this company and don't be fooled like me by their "80 years in business".. all they want is your hard earned money! read more

They say their mission statement is all about customer service and transparency. I bought a Mercedes from them in October of this year and it seemed great. I paid cash for it. 400 miles later, I get a check engine light. I take it to Mercedes of Bellevue for inspection. Cylinder 5 is dead. Has a new ignition coil only on cylinder 5, which suggests that the dealership knew about the issue and covered it up to sell. Mercedes of Bellevue says it's not repairable and needs a new engine ($53k)! I only paid $13k for the vehicle! I've called Vista 4 times asking for a manager or owner. The sales person who answers my call each time, takes my information and comments and says they'll be sure to get a manager to call me back. No call backs. My title & plates are still not here either and my temp is now expired. They should buy back this vehicle right now. This is going to get worse for them if my attorney has to get involved. I should just drop off the vehicle to their lot in Lakewood with the keys in it! Ugh read more

Unfortunately I bought a $28,000 diesel from them. It has been the biggest pile iv ever owned. 24 hours after I left the lot it had problem. When ever I would call deion it was always "Iv been selling vehicles for 10+ years" and "we've been in business 70+ years". They told me to take it to Oriellys to get it diagnosed. Since it was deleted their computer wouldn't read the codes. Once I was finally able to take it to a shop that worked on deleted diesels that quoted me $15,000-$20,000 to get it fixed. I called vista back and they said the truck was fine when we took it for a 10 min test drive before I bought it. It must be something I did. read more

Recently got a 2018 Toyota Corolla LE at Vista Auto Sales. When arriving at the dealership and was looking around at some of their vehicles, I was approach by friendly business cars salesman name Chris. He was very helpful to keep me informed on the history of the vehicle. They were very patient, giving time and spaces for me to take a look at the vehicle inside and out. I did inform Chris that I was going to also look at other dealerships that day. Chris was very understanding on my decision and was happy to help with any questions or concerns. After looking at two other car dealerships, I was more convinced to buy a vehicle at Vista Auto Sales due to their friendly and respectable atmosphere that they give. I came back later that same day and spoke with Chris that I was interested in the vehicle. Chris then introduced me to their finance team member named Christian. bought a nissan murano from them. paid cash for the car. after i purchased it, the car needed o2 sensors, back brakes an alignment and tires because it was so out of alignment. the car leaks so bad it filled with water. 3,200$ later for new sunroof seals and tracks and headliner the nissan dealership has fixed the leak. this is a con dealership. i would not buy from the ever again.... read more

Worst dealership ever!! Purchased a 2004 Ford Excursion with 118k miles (low mileage for the year). I traded in a vehicle that I owned and paid $4k on top of it. Barely a week and 84 miles driven later, the check engine light came on. I called the dealership to see if they whold consider buying the vehicle back and they outright stated no. There's a reason why they don't want to buy it back. They'll low ball your trade as well and sale it for 2 times what they give you. I would avoid this place at all costs and really consider all of the reviews. I am a military veteran and a current Law Enforcement Officer. I understand you are business, but you're outright taking advantage of people by ripping them off and providing unreliable vehicles. I bought a car in September from Vista, and when I say it's the worst car purchase I've ever made, I genuinely mean it. Since the first week I've bought it all I've had is issues. First with needing all four cylinders needing new spark plugs. Then by December I realized the car is consuming oil. Which is a huge problem, and currently waiting to get in to the Kia dealership to have that hopefully fixed or replaced.... then it's now currently having new issues. The cars engine light is always on. Saying it's a cylinder misfire, but the mechanics are trying to diagnose if it's wiring to the PCM or if pcm/ ecm needs to be completely replaced. Which is a 2k part without the labor included. I honestly wouldn't recommend buying from this place unless you want a lemon car. read more

Bought a 2015 chevy cruze from them on 10/11/24 and it's been nothing but a headache. We've dumped over $500 into this car already and have to replace almost the whole brake system now. Asked about the possibility of bringing it back for something else cuz we're looking at an $800 bill for brakes, that were obviously bad when we bought it, considering we haven't even made the first payment yet, and received no response. They sure did make sure to follow up that their money was coming from the credit company after adjusting our insurance though! Definitely won't be going back there for my husband's truck like we planned! My personal review of Vista Auto Sales in Lakewood WA. First off, this was my first time there, no affiliation whatsoever, I base almost everything I buy (big or small) on reading reviews, I hope this honest opinion helps. Communication: Vista is a small, to small/medium dealership, which I don't mind. They had a rig I was interested in; I don't usually do a "contact seller" thing on a website but I did, they texted back and forth with me, we set up a loose time as I am 1 1/2 hrs. away, super easy. Money/Price: Between the time we texted, and me showing up later the next day, they had lowered the price. (this is NOT normal) maybe it was just timing, ya know, move inventory. Well these fellas removed the whole Buyer vs Seller Bull$&!/. After I climbed under it, inspected, and drove it, I brought it back, I put the key in my pocket and said I'll take it! The price was already low, and I didn't have to play the haggle back & forth game, which I hate doing, it was so nice. The staff: I don't use names in this type of forum, but I believe the 3 young gentlemen we delt with, run the whole show at Vista Auto Sales. They were clean, knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Not "car salesmen" friendly, but, hmm, I'm gonna go with, just genuine dudes. The way they treated me, and my wife, well it was like buying a car from a buddy. Overall experience: Extremely 5 stars satisfied! Not just with the van I bought, or the price that fit my budget, but those fellas are just the nicest you're going to meet, a real family friendly environment. They ran my credit again, which was less than fortunate, but its car sales, so there's not much else to expect. They run pretty low key which is a good break from high pressure sales. The guys as Vista are great people. They took care of me and my son after we purchased a used car for him. The car had to be taken in for service and they worked with the mechanic (Weston @ Car Clinic in Puyallup who is also phenomenal) to get our car repaired and then made sure the warranty company held up their end by covering the cost. It is always a gamble when you buy something used especially when it is a machine that will eventually need repair and maintenance. The nice thing is when you find people that stand by their word. This dealership sold me a vehicle that has been deemed not drivable. A week after I purchased the vehicle I took it into a Nissan dealership where it had the engine taken apart to find sludge among other numerous major problems. After The Nissan dealership did some looking around at finding some previous records, it was noted that the vehicle I had purchased needed a new engine (same records this place had access too, but failed to disclose). How is this even legal?? To sell a vehicle that needs a new engine?? After being in the shop for 2-3 months, they were unable to fix the major issues with the engine and confirmed this vehicle needed a new block. So now I am Stuck making payments on a vehicle I can't even drive. On top of other money we had to sink in this piece of junk. My absolute worse experience EVER!!
