terrible service you book an appointment for a general "eye exam" next thing you know your paying for preventative care how ever your not one time informed this is what was part of your appointmen. you only find out when they are speeding through trying to get you into glasses. I would not recommend anyone I know even my enemie. the customer service is absolutely terrible they treat you like a drive through at a fast food restauran. they take you these machines and don't even explain what's going on what they are doing nothing. I have never felt so uncomfortable and so lost! I will never go back to this place what a waste of my time and money to be treated like a number! read more

Lucky you guys if you do receive 5-star positive experience. Unfortunately we didn't receive that last few times and it was worst in the recent visit. I don't know about wait times with other doctors here. But we saw Dr. Vanray and Dr. Swenson in last few years, its been long wait times almost always, and rude staff; Not happy with these guys anymore. Until last year, I used to setup appointments back to back in single visit for my both kiddos. Last time, Front Desk told us that they booked appointment for only 1 kiddo. I had to argue with them about that showing appointment message. To avoid that further, my family members are seeing Dr. Swenson in different visits now. One time, they did retina prevention check for extra cost, though I signed saying we decline that. I had to argue with them to get it waived. And even in recent visit, nurse started to do it, I told her that I declined it, then she was glad I told her. Almost always, longer wait times, and this time it is horrible. In recent visit, 50 minutes waiting, and I thought it is ok as they said doctor is busy attending still a medical patient from previous appointment, so I said we are fine to see other doctor for now, then they said all doctors are busy too, that's fine, but how nurse and front desk responded was so rude. When Nurse came in after we waited 25 minutes to tell us that doctor is still running late, I appreciated that, and my response was, oh ok its been almost 30 minutes. Then she yelled like, no its not 30 minutes its only 25 minutes you are here. WOW!! After we waited for 50 minutes, then Dr Swenson came in finally, not really concerned about keeping my kid and I waiting, She did quick checking in 5 minutes and gone. No dilation like in previous visits, It all sounded like she came in and wrapped it up quick right before their closing time 5:30pm. Then Checkout lady came in and sent us out in another 5 minutes right at 5:30 PM at their closing time. Wow, what a long waiting due to their emergencies, but then everything suddenly done right at 5:30 PM for them to close and go! I've asked Front Desk ladies and checkout lady, which doctor has less waiting time, they don't have an answer; they said they are overbooking nowadays and its always busy with emergency medical patients. And she told me not to worry as usually appointments are 45 to 60 minutes long and you were checked out at 60th minute so we are good. WOW what a rudeness! Nurse check 5 minutes. Then 50 minutes we were simply waiting in the room. Then 5 minutes doctor checkup. When I asked why, they simply said Apologies and Good Nights! Rude Nurse & Front Desk staff!! They feel like they were right, that's fine. We can't wait that longer to see a doctor for 5 minutes, and we can't take their rude answers and service. If I'm late to appointment, do they accept my apology that simply? Shame on you both doctor and staff. Bye bye Vista Eye Care!! Lot of time and money were wasted with no use. Not at all worth! I felt so bad to see my kid waiting and waiting in the room for more than 45 minutes saying bored and asked when will doctor come. I for sure would never take kids to Vista Eye Care. read more

They admitted it was an error but stated we still had to pay the bill because the care was provided... we trusted them to do what was right for our daughter but it burned us financially. read more

I wrote to Maui Jim and asked if their sunglasses are polarized, and they replied all of their sunglasses are polarized. Dr. Abert is the very best!! He's very helpful, caring, and friendly. I struggled to find the right contacts while trying out contacts for the first time with only an astigmatism. He was so patient and kept bringing me back in to try new ones until we found what worked. He explained everything to me well along the whole process. I have been a patient of Vista Eye for years. I have seen numerous providers and have never had an issue with them. The front desk staff and the techs who order the contacts are some of the most incompetent people I have ever met in my life. Multiple years now they have ordered me the wrong type of contact lenses. I order an annual supply of daily contacts of the same brand every year, and every year they order the wrong amount, wrong type, or wrong brand. Other times I have come in for an appointment, which they've sent confirmation emails for, only to tell me I do not have an appointment. I know other patients who also go here who have dealt with similar issues, along with not getting the correct written prescription and being over charged. Save yourself the headache and do not go here. read more

Really surprised at how robust this facility is, the size of the staff and the number of treatment rooms- especially on a Saturday. They do have a lot of different frame choices, and sunwear too. Most insurance doesn't really cover the frames, but they might cover 35% of the lenses, and then get a second set at 30% off. Not super cheap- at least it's something off. read more

I am so incredibly frustrated by my experience with this place. I went in with a floater, and a reduction in my vision. One exam later, I'm shown what I could see with glasses. Neato. So I spend $600 on a nice pair of glasses and the exam, and that's after insurance paid their portion. Come to find out later that I can get that same pair of glasses online for less than $250. Heck, at one point I had a coupon code that was good for $179. I received my glasses and they are clearly wrong. Right side of both lenses is incredibly blurry. There is no situation where I can see better on the right side of the lenses. I take them back. They get the glasses remade. They come back and there's literally no difference at all. Exactly the same. As if they did nothing. We're now 5 weeks into the process. I gave them a week and tried to work with them. They just made things worse. So I ordered a cheap pair of glasses from an online site and they were outstanding, and I received them in 3 days. Now I'm frustrated. Finally I go back in and try to return them. I'm presented with the most kind and helpful person so far, Allie Parker. She spends almost an hour with me reviewing glasses, screen distances, situational information, etc. I tried on probably 10 other pairs of glasses and she thoroughly explained the process of making lenses, what I got, and what she believed I needed to have. Nobody had really given a crap what I was using these glasses for (computer work all day, nothing else), and put me in progressive lenses. Nobody took the time to explain this at any point until Allie got involved. Seriously, give this girl a raise, or a promotion, or something. She's an asset to this business and the people who receive her help. So she says she'll send them off to get remade as single-vision and with a different add power, after all our research. We're now at the 6 week mark Fast forward 3 weeks, and here I am still without glasses I just called Vista and their expected date is another 2 weeks from now. How in the hell does it take 5 weeks to get glasses made when there are places that can make lenses in literally an hour? So when I get these glasses, which may still be wrong, I'll be 11 weeks into this process. Yes, that's right... almost 3 months for an $800 pair of glasses I could have ordered online for $179 and received in 3 days. This is stupid. I want my money back. I don't want these glasses anymore. I feel like I got scammed and was overcharged for the literal nothing I've received. It's incredibly absurd. Houses are built in less time. People recover from debilitating injuries in less time. I severed all the ligaments in my ankle once, and had surgery to repair them. I was back on my feet in 8 weeks. How is this considered acceptable? Did I mention that Allie Parker deserves a raise? I've been seeing Dr. Caitlyn for binocular vision for one year. She's been treating me with vision therapy. I am so grateful for her care. She has been awesome. She's very professional and experienced in this area. I walked into her office with a cane and a friend for help and now I'm driving, and living my life the way I should be. After completing my annual exam, I got new reading glasses from a vendor that was covered by my insurance. The prescription did not work. I went back to Vista. They re-examined me and changed the prescription for both eyes. I got different lenses and discovered that one eye was correct but the other eye prescription still did not work. I called Vista again and was told that if I wanted to come back again, it would be an additional charge of $75. This is totally unacceptable. I now have reading glasses that barely work because they did not give me the correct diagnosis twice. I will never go there again and definitely do not recommend them to anyone. read more

I recently went for a surprisingly relaxing eye exam for a Progressive prescription at Vista Eye Care in Thornton. Dr. Abert kept me informed and laughing as he discussed all aspects of my eye health and spent time making sure the prescription was right for up close, far, and computer distance. Kathy was a friendly expert who picked multiple frames for me to try on that she knew would look great with my face shape and, amazingly, she stayed in the price range I told her I needed. When the glasses came in (a little earlier than planned), Megan was awesome in my try on and question-answering session. I find Vista Eye Care incredibly frustrating. While the doctors, for the most part, are great, their general treatment of patients and the increasingly corporate feel of their practices is rather dehumanizing. It has become apparent that Vista Eye Care is more concerned about generating additional revenue than they are about their patients' care and needs. After many complaints form patients, they are finally more transparent about the higher-priced add-on services, not covered by insurance, they once surprised you with at billing. However, the information they provide attempts to convince you that the additional tests are regular, customary, and necessary. If you miss this messaging, they do not ask your permission to provide the services, you must decline them. Declining the add-on services requires signing a "liability release" with language intended to convince you to accept the services as necessary and even suggests a series of issues and illnesses you may fall prey to if these tests are not done. It is not a release of liability, it is a shaddy sales practice and a pretty cynical one at that. The front end of the house is overworked and unengaged. It's apparent that they are just trying to make it through the day for, what I am sure is, meager pay. I feel bad for them but the treatment of your Frontline sets the tone for the entire experience. It seems that an owner or executive attended some conference where they attended a workshop on how to maximize practice revenue through limiting expenses (particularly payroll) and patient sales strategies. Chasing the dollar instead of earning a fair exchange through honest services and honest patient care is incredibly inauthentic. I am tired of having to determine if a service is necessary or a "revenue booster". I want to be able to trust that the person giving me care has my best interests in mind, not eyeing the thickness of my wallet. After being a patient here for years, my family and I are going to explore other options. read more

My family and I have been coming here for years! Today I call to confirm my kids appointment for next week and I am being told that since the appointment was scheduled last year and they had called and left a message last week and in the message they said I had to call back to confirm by yesterday or they were going to cancel the appointments so my kids appointments were canceled. I still have the voicemail on my phone and she never said you have until yesterday to confirm or they would cancel. She tried to offer another week at a different time and that was just not going to work. Looks like I am looking for a new eye provider. read more

Staff is nice but I've been going here for 2 years now & my eye prescription was prescribed incorrectly both times. First doctor seemed to not care about my prescription & the second doctor visit a year later, the doctor was trying keep my prescription the same but my eyesight was too bad if I kept it the same for another year! So I asked for the strength to be increased. I also bought glasses which I regret, I was sort of pressed to get the more expensive frames & im so blind already the lenses it's self were going to cost a leg & I ended up getting raybans, which feel so cheap & those cost me an arm! I would not recommend anyone go here until they focus more on customer experience and quality instead of only seeming to care about money. For one they are EXTREMELY overpriced. How overpriced are they? I recently got the same exact set of glasses in a new pair plus an extra pair for computer work for LESS than the price they charged me for my first pair! 2 sets of glasses for what they were charging me for 1. Secondly, they shovel you around from person to person basically trying to get you to purchase all the bells and whistles for their overpriced glasses. And the sales staff is both awkward and rude, its very obvious they are pressured into making commission or something. They definitely also put the pressure on you to buy all the bells and whistles and make you feel very uncomfortable or are rude if you do not want to spend that much. I also felt like they have timers on appointments so when you hit a certain time you are sent to shop for their glasses, regardless. I literally did not actually get to finish my last appointment with doctor or have my questions answered because our time was evidently up. Felt more like cattle being shuffled through rooms than a customer here. Also, I repeatedly told them I only seldom wear contacts and didn't need an appointment for contacts but was made a contact appointment again and again. Cuz it costs more money for a contact appointment, of course! I completely agree with another reviewer who said it feels like someone in this office took a course on how to capitalize on bringing in the most money and its really undermining the quality of patient experience. They are over price and they charge extra to the insurance companies and if the insurance do not pay, they will be after you for the extra charges that do not pertain to your visit. I have been getting my eye glasses from Vista Eye Care for the last 5 or 6 years. The last few years it has gone down hill. Late last year my husband had to wait 5 weeks for his frames. When they finally arrived no one bothered to call him. I had an appointment here a month ago. I was told my frames would be ready in 3 weeks due to the holidays. 3 weeks had passed and I did not hear anything so I decided to call. I was told by the frint desk that they needed to check on them. I then get a call that they were planning on giving me a call later in the day to explain that we'll they were putting in my lenses, the frame split in half. I was then told it would be another 3 weeks. At this point I asked to speak with a manager. I was then told that she called the manufacturer and that they had them in stock and would be received within a week. I called again today and I was again given the run around. I stopped by Vista Eye Care looking for some new frames. I had been to several eyeglass stores and had no luck finding the right frames. Michelle an Optician came to my rescue. I think she realized I really was in need of some help. She was very professional and after evaluation of my situation. Michelle was able to help me determine which frames would make me look my best to the opposite sex.She was easy to talk to, easy to look at and made me feel comfortable. i explained how I was selfconscious about wearing glasses anyway. Must have had a bad day previously or hey made changes because my last visits were flawless! Wait time for my appointment was very reasonable. Felt no rush from the optometrist and she was very meticulous in getting my prescription absolutely perfect. I made another appointment for contacts and had the same results. Minimal wait time and great attention from the optometrist. Left with trials and got seen again when my right contact needed to be tuned up. Picking frames and lens was great and they had everything worked out perfectly--couldn't be happier. They had my insurance coverage nailed. Took my 9 year old son there and same results. They let him take his time finding the pair of glasses that was just right and got him set up. This place is definitely going to if you need glasses and contacts. Especially if you have astigmatism, because they really take the time to get it right. They added 2 more optometrists to their roster and both are fantastic. I had my family go here, my daughter (5yrs old) had an appointment at 5:45, we arrived early we waited an hour in the lobby once they gave us a room waited another hour and a half to see the doctor. It was ridiculous! I think we left there close to 8:00pm. I was so mad, almost bought the glasses then thought I should get a second option and left. They called me 2 weeks early and said my daughters glasses were ready. I told them I didn't order glasses and they said they had messed up and to pick up the glasses because they had them and would not be charging us. The moment my daughter put the glasses on she said she didn't want them. We scheduled a second option somewhere else and turns out her prescription was wrong. Very disappointed! My husband wanted to keep going because they have their prescription and ordered sunglasses for him ($700.00) this was the beginning of Aug. they called us 2 weeks ago saying they were ready. We get there and its the wrong pair! They send them back and it's now the end of Aug. we are still waiting on the sun glasses! Very disappointed! read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! They are only concerned about getting their money. Every time I go to vista eye care I end up spending way more money than I planned because of the unnecessary fees on their exams. I'm extremely disappointed as my prescription was coming to an end and the appointment I had made a YEAR ago no longer fit with my schedule (I have also moved out of the area so it is harder to get there). My contact prescription ended a day prior and I tried to purchase just a months supply to get me through until I could come in for an appointment. My access was denied without any explanation by vista eye care. This place is just a money plug and they try to convince you that you will be paying more if you go somewhere else, absolutely not true. I will not be returning as a customer. I'm no longer interested in spending thousands of dollars just to be able to see because of this rip off of a place. Don't come here! read more

There is one person that I like working with here, Jemay will take care of you and will be nice in the process. Everyone else makes you feel like an inconvenience. I just want to pick up my new glasses, I had to wait 2 weeks for, and I have to make an appointment three days out or else it's a "walk-in" and no estimate time on wait. Dr. Abert and the staff at Vista are exceptional. My husband had an eye injury this past weekend, and after our current eye doctor never called us back, we googled nearby eye doctors with emergency lines and found Vista. Dr. Abert spoke with my husband not once, but twice in one evening to determine whether he needed to be seen that night and also to listen to his concerns and calm his fears. He determined he did not need to see him right away, but set an appointment for him at 830am the following morning to check on him. I found this incredibly prompt considering we were not even current patients of his at the time. He also did a follow up appointment a couple of days later for no charge. We are now switching our whole family over to Vista Eye Care. Thank you for taking such good care of my husband in a scary couple of days! read more

The customer service at this location is awful. The eye doctor was awesome; He treated my daughter and me with kindness and professionalism. However, selecting my frames post exam was awful! Amanda an associate was rude and pushy. When I wanted to see a frame she was annoyed, when I asked the price she was annoyed, she kept picking out frames for me saying this is what I would choose for you. Excuse me I know what I would choose for me I am the one wearing them. Then when I selected the frame, she was trying to add extra options to the lens, when I stated I wanted the standard lens for my child without the extra reflective coating she got very rude and said well then there is no warranty. I opted to get a copy of my prescriptions and find another Eye Care Center to purchase the frames me and my daughter. Amanda's unprofessional attitude has caused me an inconvenience for my daughter and me to go a longer period for glasses that are much needed. I now have to schedule an appointment at another eye center to purchase frames and the appointments are at least two weeks out. I will never to back to Vista Eye Care. I really liked the eye doctor the other staff was awful! Also, they charge extra for additional testing. I missed the section on the form to decline. I was waiting outside for 15 minutes for someone to come out and provide me forms and take us inside. She said sign here and here. I did not have time to read it I had 3 young children with me and needing to get out of the heat. They charged me an extra $78 for testing that insurance does cover. If you miss declining this on the form, they do not ask your permission to provide the services, you must decline them. 5 stars are not enough!! Living in Colorado gets frustrating sometimes when dealing with businesses. It seems like too many of them care so little about customer service. Let me tell you, Vista is not one of those businesses!!! I have been here 3 times now and they are wonderful. The Dr.'s are wonderful. Dr. Abert earned my lifelong business the first time i saw him. My mom has a very rare eye disease that he was interested in. After talking a bit I was telling him how hard it is at times for her to find resources. Not only did he give me a few suggestions, HE DID RESEARCH FOR ME. About a week after my appointment he called me and gave me some great advice and by showing that level of service and care he earned this customers loyalty. The service only begins with the doctors. I have never once encountered a rude or curt staff member. Not only are they incredibly kind, they are very knowledgeable!!! The optician that I have been working with lately is Stevi. She is amazing. She helped me with honest opinions on my frames, she was not pushy in any way at all, and when the rubber meets the road and it is time to order, she goes above and beyond to make sure that I understand everything and to get me the best price possible. The glasses and lenses are not cheap drug store glasses. You will pay a bit, but you are not only receiving top quality glasses, you are getting top notch service along with it. It is well worth the money, a drive, whatever you have to do to get to this place. :) read more

Hard to give this review because Pedroza and Abert are THE BEST. I had to reschedule and waited 10 extra days so I could see either of them and didn't even hesitate because I knew I would get the best care. Getting new lenses on the other hand was such a pain I decided not to buy anything! Via email I said I did not want new frames. You sat me down and tried to tell me my frames wouldn't work for my prescription then said my plastic frames were dried out and would break. I wanted lenses! I wasn't prepared for high pressure car sales. $300 sale turned into $0 but the folks on 104 & Federal will thank you for sending them the business. I need lenses. This is not the company they were back when they were on the other side of the road. Dr Abert and Dr Pedroza, hear our cries!!! You have built a loyal customer base that is being blown up by HORRIBLE customer sales. Don't let these clowns destroy your business. I have been going here for years and have always been fully satisfied. Not today. The staff was clearly untrained when dealing with customers. During my appt, I was being asked general eye health questions or concerns, and before I could give a full answer I was interrupted. The intake person thought they can anticipate my answers. This happened twice! After that, I just agreed with them. The person I worked with to find frames and pricing was not a people person, they were cold and uncaring of my concerns. What really got to me is that the frames were all designer names with designer prices. I personally am not a slave to fashion, practicality is more important to me.
