If you're trying to find a great Mexican place to eat, this is the place! The service is amazing, they ask you kindly what you want, they provide you with whatever you need. The food here is so good, there are different types of authentic Mexican food; they also have a kids menu. The feeling here is alive, with the music while you're eating, it makes you feel like home, makes you feel like you're family. This is a perfect place to enjoy time with your family. If you having a big party over, it's better to call to reserve space, customer service here is also great.

Wow! What a colorful and festive first impression. Vista Hermosa is lively with over-the-top color......everywhere. Seems like this spot is buzzing right in this part of Soundview- feet away from the 6. Service is pleasant all around. Our server even made sure to warn us about the Salsa 'being real spicy' (turned out it wasn't- thank you Jesus!). Music added another upbeat layer with Mexican Pop. My Mom loved her Mexican coffee with hints of Cinnamon but my Tamarind Juice, was bland. Menu has lots to choose from and decided on Shrimp Tacos. Unlike me, my Mom, can stomach any type of meat and settled on a Bistec (Steak) with a Sope and Grilled Cactus. My 3 tasty Shrimp Tacos, were packed real nice with queso, Cilantro and lettuce- and I was in flavor heaven when I added a squeeze of lime to them. Mumsy took notice that our Lunch came out too quick- including her Steak. Unfortunately, my Mom complained (in Spanish) that her Steak "felt like a piece of rubber". Hey, can't control what the lady says. Anyhow.....It was a nice Shrimp Taco bliss for me. Just kind of wished, my Mom had a similar experience like I did- with her Entree. They have several things going for them- they just need to put more priority on food quality. I'm going with a 3 and a 1/2 on this one. There aren't many Mexican restaurants in Soundview and I think Vista deserves some kind of a shout.

Great service, great drinks .. however the food is overpriced and not worth it .. I got the Birra tacos , they were missing the flavor ! Tasted like nothing honestly..

The food is okay... I like that they added a salad with the burrito. However the burrito was poorly assembled & became one sloppy mess to eat. Presentation & assembly is important to food especially ones that will be eaten by hand.

    Sope, taco, and guacamole.

3.5 Food was delivered quickly. Seemed a little pricey for the serving size. I ordered quacamole, 1 taco, 1 sope and 2 bottles of water. I did add avacodo on both, but with tip it was 30$. The food was pretty good I guess, the guacamole could have used a little more flavor.

My favorite dish from the menu is the beef soup which cost $13 dollars. Usually they give you a good portion of beef, but today as another time this month they sent only 4 little pieces and a ton of carrots. And I even told the lady to be pay attention to my order. This soup should be renamed as carrot soup. I felt rob!! Unacceptable, I even sent a uber to picked it up. $30 to the garbage.

Chicken flautas topped with lettuce and avocado

Lived in the neighborhood for over 10yrs and always overlooked this place boy am I mad I did!!! Went here with my mom last night and ordered take out I had the chicken flautas and my mom had the carne taco salad both meals were great I love the rice and beans and the green sauce. To my surprise I didn't know that had their Liqour license guess that's what I get for judging a book by its cover lol but will def be back to have more food and order drinks the selection was pretty decent overall enjoyed the food!!!

This place always rocks. Only the food rocks, mixed drinks are garbage in my opinion. Beware music is very loud. I will be back.

As a corn lover, the flavor note of Esquites just reminded me of elotes that you get from a street vendor in Mexico. The Tlayuda was huge! We added carne asada as our topping, and it turned into an huge entree that's shareable between two people. We finished our meal with the most flavor-intense dish - duck confit enmoladas. Despite not being a crazy mole fan, the mole sauce that was drizzled all over the enmoladas had a perfect balance of rich notes with a bit of bittersweet chocolate undertone. The ambiance was great with both indoor and outdoor seating. We were there to celebrate our anniversary, and the restaurant made it so special for us by providing a menu printed with "happy anniversary" with a note card and glasses of sparkling wine! This is a gem that's not to be missed!!!

By then the hostess had already seated us and I was immersed in the excellent service and the delicious aromas from the open kitchen. My husband lived in Mexico City for a time and he said this was some of the best Mexican food he'd had. The corn vermouth was delicious and I'd never heard of sotol so tried it in a paloma, which was great. Definitely will go back again, but only once my wallet has recovered.

They had the option to choose fresh fish sitting in the ice or cooked food from the kitchen. I opted for grilled branzino, shrimp and veggies. My family ordered the fried options. All cutlery and plating are plastic just fyi so it's a casual place. Also relatively loud Spanish music playing the entire time. not an issue but I did have to ask her to lower the volume because it was only 5 pple in the entire restaurant and I couldn't hear our convo at the table over the music. The timing of when the food came out was interesting so fried food first. I was waiting for my grilled food for another 10 mins and the rest of the dishes came out separately within 5-10 mins of each other. The fried food was not fresh but frozen. When questioned, the waitress said everything was fresh we can tell it was not. To preface we eat seafood often so we can absolutely tell. It would've been fine but the shrimp itself was tasteless, soggy/moist under the batter and the batter was falling off because of it. I would dare say the shrimp was pre cooked and frozen before it was fried. No flavor and chewy. My mom and grandma said the fish was okay it had a very fish stick look to it but no real complaints about the fried fish. (Whiting and catfish) My grilled food was just okay. The vegetables were solid I ate that with no issues, onions, peppers and eggplant. The branzino was a good texture asked for it to be butterflied but no real flavor. I had to add salt and pepper for taste. The shrimp was also okay but nothing to write home about. I wasn't super impressed but it was okay. Not sure if I would come back until I hear there's some growth culinary wise.

So, we had fried calamari, mussels in wine, (cod) fish and chips, grilled salmon and potatoes. Nothing was disappointing and definitely filling. We stood there confused, eventually trying to find a table ourselves. Since no one was assisting us and there were no open tables available, we sat at the bar. My friend continued waiting and trying to secure a table, but there was no communication from staff. To make matters worse, another group arrived after us and was seated before us. They mentioned they had been there before, and it felt like they were given priority while we were overlooked, despite waiting longer. Service at the bar was equally frustrating. The bartender was inattentive and focused only on certain sections. It took about 10 to 15 minutes just to get a simple glass of wine. We had to repeat our orders multiple times, which should have been a red flag. The appetizer, Korean wings, arrived quickly and was probably the only positive part of the evening. After that, everything went downhill. Our entrees took an extremely long time to arrive. It felt like nearly two hours. When the food finally came out, one of my friends did not receive her meal at all because the bartender forgot to put in her order. This was especially frustrating since we had repeated the order several times. When her dish, the pad Thai, finally arrived about 30 minutes later, it was mediocre at best and slightly cold. The steaks ordered by two of us were dry and under-seasoned. The vegetables were overcooked and bland. Overall, the food quality did not justify the long wait or the price. The bathrooms were another major issue. There was toilet paper on the floor and even period blood visible on the ground. It was unsanitary and honestly shocking. Cleanliness is the bare minimum for any establishment. The final bill came to $245, including an automatic $34 gratuity at the bar. Considering the service we received, this felt completely undeserved. There was no acknowledgment of the forgotten order and no attempt to make things right. As a final note, be cautious if you're wearing delicate or expensive clothing. The bar counter area has rough edges, and one of my friend's jerseys was snagged while we were sitting there. This was my first time here, and it will absolutely be my last. Between the poor service, mediocre food, lack of cleanliness, and high prices, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
