My gin martini
Ernie D.

A great little place in my neighborhood. The food is exceptional, especially considering the size of their kitchen. The staff is constantly multitasking to keep everyone happy. A shout-out to bartender Jovan, who makes the best gin martinis I've ever had.

what a NYC GEM. get out of midtown and head uptown to fito. it's where spain meets france istg. one man was running the cozy spot and it both felt like i was in europe on the coast somewhere in someone's home and in an upscale private room where i wont be bothered. even in the cold weather, they make it perfect inside. coat check, an aesthetic bar, and intricate tables that just barely fit everything you'll order. and the food was phenomenal. the octopus was seared perfectly and my steak was exactly medium. i love that their yuca fries are thinner because im not a fan of a steak fry cut. wish i had room for something sweet but guess ill have to come back real soon :)

Cozy spot right off dyckman with strong drinks and delicious tapas. Our server was sooo sweet and attentive all night, and made sure we took advantage of their happy hour (5-8). The place was pretty empty Friday around 6pm but got super packed around 8/9. I loved the Mora margarita and the Canelazo, which comes with freshly lit palo santo and a sprinkle of bee pollen on top. All the food was good but I especially liked the tuna tartare and the chanchito. Also make sure you get the cuatro leche!!!! So good.

I'm super disappointed in myself for just leaving a review for this uptown treasure because I've eaten here so many times, and it has always been good. I literally waited outside once for an hour for it to open for Brunch. That's how good. However, I must leave a review because this place keeps coming through for me. I've recently decided to act like my stomach is 44 years in the game, and give up bodega bags of trash snacks for good. My tummy and my head can't take it. #junkfoodhangover As a result I have no easy sweets in my house. New rule, either I make it or I have to eat it outside the house. Now I called this a post dinner walk when I started the evening because who couldn't use one of those, but if I'm being honest, I really needed something sweet. Fast forward, walking through my neighborhood, stopping by ole faithful Baskin Robbin, and they didn't have Daiquiri Ice #IYKYK which is honestly the only Baskin flavor for summer. So I'm headed home and I happen upon Fiti, which always calls to me because it's a vibe from the sidewalk. Good music coming out the door (Take on Me currently being sung by an attractive set of humans at and behind the bar), intimate. I walk by because I already ate dinner but remember their vegan chocolate ganache which is heavenly. I turn back to see if it's still on the menu. It is. And it's BETTER than before (where they do that at). They've added black salt atop the whip cream above the ganache, and you are talking about one delicious cup of chocolatey sweetness. $8 for this decadent treat. I love it here. If you're up near Dyckman, go here to eat. You will not be disappointed! Now back to my dessert.

Fito is a small gem in the heights. I immediately loved the small intimate space and the unique menu. I worked with the owner and his lovely wife to coordinate a small bridal shower for a close friend and we really enjoyed ourselves. The service here is always top tier!!

The chicken and the steak and I got a pisco sour.

This place is EXCELLENT. Hidden gem in Inwood, honestly one of the better restaurants in the area. The food was delicious and well proportioned and the drinks were divine. 10/10!!

Umerita. Like a margarita but made with Soju. Amazing!

I truly enjoy this place, from the decor to the staff , drinks and food. They have a great wine selection that comes with knowledge and the cocktails are unique in taste ( in a good way). The food so far has been excellent in taste and texture (nothing overly cooked or seasoned). It is a small place but the service is excellent and the owner is very attentive and courteous.

The food was delicious! Very tasteful and beautifully presented. The service was good as well, server was very attentive and accommodating. The place is a bit small, good crowd, but can get really loud. If you're a dessert person, try the tres leche maracuja. It's so delicious!

Love it

The vibe was cool, the service was excellent, and the $$$ food and drinks were delicious. This clean, modern, and cozy establishment provided not only an excellent dining experience but unbelievable entertainment, too. We inital went for dinner and drinks, but stayed when this wonderful artist and guitar player started to do their thing. Johnny Bliss sang & transported patrons to another place along with his talented string partner, Fabio. The singers voice is unbelievably beautiful. A true gift to the ears. He arrived around 8PM, and did a few sets until approx. 11pm. Apparently, these two artists are playing at NAPA on Fridays nights (not sure for how long). We had the meatballs, crabcake, and pork chop dinner (all yum). We had a few custom and signature drinks. Happy hour available until 7pm. Street parking out side. Conveniently located by MTA bus/trains. Totally recommend, will go again .

I had already paid $40 just to enter the lounge, and yet the security guard at coat check aggressively insisted I take off my "coat" and pay another $20 just to wear it--or $10 to check it. The problem? It wasn't even a coat. It was a dress, and I told him that. I even explained that I could technically wear it as a dress and that I only had something skimpy underneath, but he still kept arguing. He kept pushing me to take it off and said, "There are plenty of other people dressed like that," completely ignoring the fact that I was uncomfortable. Being told to basically strip down or pay more money after already paying $40 to get in felt harassing, humiliating, and absolutely unacceptable. The whole situation felt like a scam and a blatant cash grab. If management allows staff to treat guests this way, it says everything about how poorly this place is run. I won't be coming back.

Note: Prices may be inaccurate, as this is from an online menu without a listed date…read more I was here with one of my usual larger groups at this excellent Spanish, or rather Spain-ish, tapas restaurant, a good while back. The inside was a tad dark, and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, which was to be expected given our large group size and the various other tables they had to attend to. The food, overall, was excellent, with this being the first Spain-ish (last time I'll use this bad joke) spot that reminded me of the Ironbound in Newark. In terms of drinks, they have the usual sangria, wines, sherry, and some standard cocktails, but I went with something that's not commonly found in the city. That was the Tinto de Verano, a refreshing mix of red wine and lemon soda, which I believe was around $12. This is a more local drink from Spain, and I was happy to see it here. They also have the Basque drink Kalimotxo, a mix of red wine and Coca-Cola, for $9. They gave us some bread to begin with, which was munched on and soon used with their delicious sauces. As for the rest of the food, we stuck primarily to tapas, aside from a paella. The first thing that arrived was unfortunately something that I couldn't eat, as I have a cephalopod allergy. This was the delicious-smelling Pulpo a la Gallega for $22, consisting of sliced boiled octopus with paprika, salt, and olive oil. The rest of the people loved it, and from serving it to some people, I could tell it was fork-tender. Outside of the pulpo, we got two other seafood tapas. The $16 Vieras a la Casuela, or scallop casserole with red & green peppers, paprika, and olive oil, was delicious. There were plenty of plump scallops with a mild sweetness accentuated by the olive oil and paprika. The $14 Gambas al Ajillo, or prawns in garlic & white wine, was also excellent. The shrimp were cooked very nicely, and the garlic flavor was as strong as it should be. One of the earlier things to arrive was, ironically, my least favorite. This was the $15 Pimientos de Piquillo Rellenos, or Piquillo peppers stuffed with tuna, egg, olives & vegetables. The dish was cool as expected, and while I liked the sauce, I didn't find the texture appealing. The flavor was a bit light for me as well. Next came an excellent version of Tortilla Española for $13, a Spanish omelette with potatoes & onions. A lot of the other Spanish places mess up the texture, but this was perfectly soft and tender. There were plenty of potatoes in there as well, with the onions only mildly cooked down, which added a little bite. There were also two dishes featuring Serrano ham. One was the tasty $13 Judías Salteadas con Jamón Serrano, or sautéed green beans with said ham. The green beans had a nice texture, and the salty ham added a pleasant bite. The other dish with this ham was the Garbanzos a la Española, which was slightly more expensive but also better. For $16, this consisted of roasted garbanzos sautéed with Serrano ham & chorizo. I was surprised I liked this more, as I usually don't like these beans much, but the mixture was very pleasant with the chorizo adding some nice spice. We also ordered two other dishes with chorizo. First was the excellent Huevos al Antojo for $16 with cottage fries, egg, grilled chorizo, and red peppers. This almost felt like a fancy breakfast option with the thin-cut cottage fries having a nice texture, especially when mixed with the runny fried egg. The chorizo and red peppers added a necessary spice to this dish. Otherwise, there was the simpler Chorizo al Vino, or chorizo in wine sauce, for $14. This was as good as can be expected for such a plain dish, but it was still tasty. Rounding out the tapas was the $9 Patatas Bravas, or spicy potatoes with a cooling white sauce, which was pretty good too. I've had this in plenty of places, and this was decent. I have liked the texture more in some other places, but it was still good and was plenty piquant. Our remaining main dish was the $48 Paella Valencia, which had a mix of seafood and meat. The seafood included one of my allergens, but they removed it, so I was fine eating that dish. Otherwise, I believe the remaining ingredients, aside from the spices and peppers, were mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops, chicken, and chorizo. All the seafood inside was cooked nicely, and the rice had a good flavor. This was an excellent paella, and the portion size was quite large, still served in the large vessel it was cooked in. The remaining dish was dessert, the $9 Tarta de Santiago, or Spanish almond cake, served with vanilla ice cream, which might have been an extra charge, but I'm not positive. The cake had a marzipan flavor and was lightly sweet. It was a satisfying end to the meal. We had a very good meal here. No particular favorites, as everything was very tasty overall.
