DO NOT USE Vista Valley Tree Service Inc- they will scam you- beware! We received quotes to cut our trees 1/2 way, but they only cut about 30% off. They didn't allow us to "sign off" on the job that day (I was home with the kids, my husband was at work), they packed everything up and left and by the time the 1 guy left came to collect payment, there was no way to ask them to trim it to the 1/2 way they originally quoted. My husband asked them to return after he came home and saw the trees were still standing taller than we had asked. After several days of phone tag and repeated follow up after our contact that had come out to do the quote finally came out (unannounced, just randomly showed up) and argued, YELLED angrily at my husband, insisting the tree was twice as tall as it was currently standing and they cut it half way. (I thought they would come to blows, that's how heated the situation was). If you want a dude to come lie to you and then SHOUT at you if you try to ask them to do the job they originally quoted you- use Vista Valley Tree Service Inc. We hired Vista Valley Tree Service to trim our trees and we were told they would arrive between 12pm-2pm on the scheduled day. My husband and I adjusted our work schedules so that one of us would be there at that time, but they arrived at 9:30am without any advanced notification. I was able to have a conversation with the workers through our Ring camera and I let them know the earliest someone could be at the house was 11am, since our gates are locked and they needed access to the back yard. He said he would talk to his boss, they left and never returned. I called and spoke to Elizabeth the following Monday and asked her if they were still able to trim our trees or if I should look into hiring someone else. She said she would speak to Juan and get back to me, but I never heard back from her. Had two phone conversations with the company and scheduled/confirmed a time for service. I requested an additional call because I had some questions prior to the job being done. Never received a call, but figured I could talk to the guys when they arrived. The truck arrived two hours prior to my scheduled service and proceeded to do work on my property without me being at home. I wasn't notified by the company or the workers of the scheduled appointment time change. I only knew that they were on my property because I had a voice-mail from them trying to get through my gate. I kicked them off of my property over the phone (because I wasn't at home, and I had questions that I wanted to ask prior to the job - that was communicated with the scheduler). I was told that they wouldn't be coming back at my scheduled service time, or at all. Too bad for them - my questions/comments/concerns that I had wanted to ask before the job was actually going to make them more money. Bad communication, poor customer service. On may 6 workes were prompt very efficient, after they left I noticed that one of the areas where a tree had been removed was very mounded. I assumed it was just dirt and debris for the stump grinding. But it was a stump that was left completely and a stump that was partially ground. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Vista Valley Tree Service in Vista, CA. They trimmed trees in our backyard, far from our front drive, and instead of keeping their wood-chipping and pickup trucks ON our amply wide drive, they veered from it and ran over our gray electrical splice box and the accompanying outlet, crushing and destroying both, located beyond the border of our drive. Those items were functioning properly for more than five years, and this destruction was noted shortly after Vista Valley Tree Service left our property. We promptly contacted the owner, Juan, who insisted his crew did not cause this damage even before coming out to inspect it. We observed where the trucks were located off to the side of our drive, where the damage was evident. Juan waited a week to come and inspect our claim, but since Juan insisted that we did not actually see/video their crew rolling over the box/outlet, he would not take responsibility. Juan: this isn't even an expensive repair! And we offered to split the cost with you, though it was clearly your full responsibility! Sorry, but your refusal to be accountable seems the current substandard treatment in this country, and very sadly, it showcases that you are NOT running an honest company. If a customer needs a trimming on their premises, we suggest they go elsewhere and deal with someone who treats their customers with honesty and integrity. So VERY unnecessarily disappointing, and a good reason not to be a repeat customer. read more

Pleasantly blown away with Vista Valley and Juan. I had a wind-damaged 35ft ficus, a canary palm to trim, my own cut-down trees to chip. They showed up with a boom truck and monster chipper and 4 guys. They beautifully shaped and cut back that huge ficus, trimmed and reshaped the pineapple on the canary palm, chipped everything. The yard is spotless, they were even the lowest price of 3 local companies I had come out and the only one with a State arborist number. I just couldn't be happier with their work. I'll try to keep this brief, because they already wasted enough of my time, but I'll probably fail because even 2 weeks later this experience still irritates me enough to write a review. My wife made an appointment for 11:30 AM for these guys to check out 2 large mature trees we needed removed, another we needed trimmed, and an old stump we needed removed as well. It's Saturday morning and I'm at home by myself trying to wrangle 3 young kids while my wife is out running errands. She plans on being home for the appointment, but she's got things to do people! Dude shows up more than 45 minutes early for the appointment and knocks on the door repeatedly. I'm busy changing a diaper at this point and he never called to say he would be early, so I'm not even remotely prepared to deal with him. My 3-year-old son is running around naked when he's supposed to be getting dressed, and I'm pretty sure he poked his head out the blinds while this dude continued knocking, "member" hanging out and all. Okay so this guy has probably seen my son's junk at this point, but decides it's still a good time to keep knocking. Really dude?! I finally get the baby situated and my son's private bits covered up with some clothes so I can answer the door. When I do I tell him the appointment was for 11:30 with my wife and she's not here right now. Told him she'd be back soon but I'm dealing with 3 kids by myself so we're not ready for him. He doesn't say much, but can probably tell I'm not particularly happy he showed up 45 minutes early and expected us to drop everything for him. He waits in his truck for a while and eventually takes off around 11:00. I assume he'll be back for the agreed-upon appointment time 30 minutes later. My wife gets home as quickly as possible knowing the guy showed up early, and when 11:30 rolls around he's a no-show. Okay let's give him 10-15 minutes. Still nothing. Okay let's call him and see if he still plans on coming. No answer, no callback, and to this day 2 weeks later still no explanation as to why he never came back. Vista Valley, when you agree to an appointment time, have some integrity and respect for other people's schedules and stick to the appointment time. It's fine if you're early but don't axe the appointment if your potential customer isn't ready to meet with you early. People have lives! Especially on a Saturday and clearly there are children involved. If you're going to be ridiculously early and you expect to get started when you arrive, you might want to actually pick up the phone and call to give a Yelper a heads up! In all honestly, if I'd known you were going to be 45 minutes early I would have been ready and willing to show you whatever you needed to see around the yard with a baby in my arms and everything. But when you just show up and act like I should be ready to drop my parental responsibilities just so we can look at some trees, you're not going to get on my good side. I'm glad others have had great experiences with Vista Valley, but we never got that chance since they handled the appointment with such unprofessionalism. I mean to not even return a call asking if you're coming back, that's just not right. You've never even spoken to me so why would you cancel an appointment just because I wasn't ready to meet with you? I didn't even make the appointment bro and you're 45 minutes early! You made my wife rush home for nothing, and you should be ashamed of yourself for how you conducted business with us. That's all folks. read more

We had a tree taken down and three stumps ground. The whole process was timely, quick, and very professional. We called vista valley tree service because they had done some work for us several years ago and remembered being very happy then. They came to remove a giant eucalyptus tree that was leaning and worried us very much and a tall but very sparse eucalyptus that looked as though it was dying. What a crew. They never stopped and other then two 6' piles of mulch which we asked to keep there is no sign they were even here. We have 5 more giant trees so we will definitely call them again. Juan was able to visit my site to give an estimate the day after I called, which was great. Actually scheduling the crew to do the work was easy enough to communicate with the back office, but they were already fully booked for three weeks. It was worth the wait. The crew showed up an hour late without sending me a heads up, but that was the only issue. I was very happy with the quality of the work, the rigging safety (cutting branches overhanging the house), and their willingness to indulge my request to save certain pieces of wood.
