I signed up for a wood chip drop from Chip Drop website and received a delivery from Top Notch. They definitely were not wood chips but partially shredded palm tree. I called both business to express disappointment with the product because overall it didn't match what Chip Drop was advertising. Chip Drop replied and agreed the product did not meet their expectations of service. When I called Top Notch, I spoke to Darren. He was extremely defensive and rude. I explained my dissatisfaction and thanked him for his time and he was unprofessional and immature. Overall he reflected poor customer service and I would not recommend this company. read more

Exceptional tree care service! From start to finish we were impressed. We had a variety of 10 palms, and a Bauhinia (Hong Kong Orchid Tree) trimmed. Some of the palms are over 20ft tall. We also had a Eucalyptus tree, two palm trees, and a 25-year-old, huge 10ft.x3ft Ficus hedge removed. Darren and his crew are friendly, professional, conscientious, fast and efficient. Top Notch did a great job for me. Mike came out on time to give me a quote on my tree trimming. He even went above and beyond to help me out with a rodent issue. He got me the quote in a timely manner. He came out while I was at work and did everything I asked for. He moved plants and tables to not break anything and left the place all clean and tidy. Called them this morning to remove a palm stump and the roots. Darren said it would take 10 minutes......it took 10 minutes. They were here the same day we called. You even asked about whether the frond was dying on one side and green on the other. It appears it has been infected by Furarium Wilt, a FATAL fungus disease, which is spread by tree cutting tools that have not been sterilized. Would you please get in touch with me? A few words I'd use to describe Darren - Unprofessional, Rude, unintelligent, and definitely hostile.

Beware! Yes they will remove a tree stump, but apparently if the break your irrigation system they say they are not responsible. 280 for stump removal was pricey. I was referred by my boss who gets quarterly service from them. They said they will switch because of how they did business with me. Hopefully this review will show them dealing with people fairly matters. If you are considering stump removal, find someone that stands behind their work. They do exist. The guy that repaired their mess provides that assurance. read more

This is the second time we hired Top Notch to work on our palm trees and the results were just as good as the first time. This a super professional organization, it is efficient, skilled, and works as a finely tuned team. They believe in, and practice, safety in all aspects of their work and also take great care of the property where they work. Darren's bid was extremely fair and we appreciated his expertise about palms. The main crew was led by Junior, a great talent and hard worker. Our stump grinding was done by Tabo, again a great talent and hard worker. They finished up their work and left our yards very clean. We are pleased with all aspects of this job and will go to Top Notch again when we need tree work, without hesitation. These guys have been trimming my palms for a few years and I've always had a positive experience.

We are beyond disappointed and frustrated with the experience we had with Darren. After coming to our house last week to give us an estimate, he scheduled TWO appointments to trim trees in our backyard on a Saturday at 7:30am and he never showed up either time! He also never called to cancel and so our whole family was up and waiting for his crew to arrive for no reason. We would have appreciated a phone call at the very least just to let us know he wasn't coming. read more

I hired Top Notch to remove a tree stump. In the process, they damaged my sprinklers. I contacted and they agreed to pay for repairs with was only $150. I sent them the bill and followed up, but they don't respond. Taking them to small claims court. read more

Top Notch Tree Care Inc., and the owner in particular, Darren Delgado, are unprofessional, unreliable, and do not care about their customers. I hired them for a simple tree removal and tree trimming job. However, in the unfortunate circumstance something goes wrong on the job, they will shift blame and responsibility any way they can to avoid owning up to their mistakes and correcting for it. The dollar is the bottom line for these guys. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. My review is Top Notch, Top NOT! I met with Darren the owner in April. I wanted a large slope of several pepper trees cut down. He was here on time for my quote walked the property and we discussed my job. I knew my slope required some landscaping after but wanted the tree portion handled by a professional company. They were to remove about 12 trees, grind stumps and place the chemical into the roots to ensure they don't grow back, weed removal as well as he mentioned he could have his guys throw in the mulch they created from all the trees to help fill in the slope. Price was comparable to another company and went with him because he said he could have it done in one day. This is where it went BAD. Day of job they showed up at 11:00 several hours later then the 7:00 am arrival I was told. When workers arrived they had no direction of what to do so I had to tell them. They left about 5:00 and didn't even check in to say goodbye or walk the property with me. I then started walking around and realized the weeds were not taken out and they didn't mulch as he said they would do, my mistake was I didn't look at the stumps. I called Darren and was given an excuse that the guys didn't have the proper tools and would be back next day to finish. I had my son home when they arrived and they rolled the truck up on my yard and dumped the mulch on my grass. Wait a minute you said your guys would mulch. NOT we will dump mulch for free..if that was the case I would have said no thanks. He did make them come back and spread it into the slope. They broke my irrigation and also cut wires to my Landscape lights but what really topped it all off was a month later I noticed all the green coming back up from my tree stumps. Wait a minute...he said they would put something in to kill them. NOPE..I text him a photo and at first he told me to go get the stuff and do it myself. Are you kidding... I paid YOU. He said oh yeah I remember who you are I will have the guys there tomorrow to cut the suckers and told me after 3:00. I text at 5:00 nobody here? Called at 7:00 no answer and no response back so a no show is what I got. Left me no choice then to write this review. My friends had to chain saw the stumps again to remove the growth and drill the centers and put the chemicals in them and also repair landscape lighting wires and repair sprinklers when I paid good money to a company. Darren never stepped foot back on my property after the day he came and gave me a bid to follow up and ensure everything was complete. Poor communication and follow through was my experience as well as a rushed poor job not complete correctly. Off to the next to make the next dollar is how he wants to run his business. read more

Very disappointing. I was promised service at 7:30 am on Saturday, but no one showed up.I called at 9 am to check and the person on the other end was very rude to start with. After few minutes he promised to have his crew come at 11:30 am. No one showed up again till 12 pm. When the crew came, they asked about which tree needs removal to which I corrected and said that I need palm tree trimming not removals. Crew told me that they will have lunch and then do the job. After an hr I look outside and the crew is gone. When I call again, I am told that I gave extra 4 palm trees that were not part of original contract. My reaction was are you serious ? As the name implies, this group is TOP NOTCH. Darren is extremely knowledgable with all species of plant life and provides great advice and input. The team is fast and efficient, they trimmed and shaped my king palms, queen palms, birds of paradise, removed a Mexican fan palm and ground the stump and removed an oleander bush for a VERY reasonable price. Darren said he would be at my house at 6:30 this morning. He showed up after 6:45. He was here to cut down a neighbor's tree that had fallen into my yard and he needed to be in my backyard to cut and clean up the tree. I asked him if he could clean up and mulch some other branches in my yard. He said yes and we agreed on a price. He said he would be there until 4:00 or 4:30. When I got home from work at 3:30, he was already gone. I went into my backyard and was very disappointed to see that the branches had not been cleaned up. Nothing had been done! Then, I went to where the tree had fallen in my yard. The tree was gone, but there were little pine branches and pine needles everywhere! I looked into my neighbor's yard and the ground was spotless. They had cleaned up every needle. I called Darren to ask what had happened. He said his workers must have forgotten to clear my branches and left early. He said nothing about the pine branches. He was very defensive on the phone. He did offer to have his workers come back next week, but I said never mind. I will make sure that none of my neighbors or anyone else I know, hire Top Notch Tree Care. They/He are definitely NOT top notch!! read more
