I was super impressed on how they were able to chip all of the trimmings after at the end of the day, leaving nothing. They cleaned up the areas nicely, ramping up leaves and brush around the trees, and blew off our driveway where they staged all of the tree trimmings. Welp... in typical fashion, I called Freddie's Tree Service out to get a quote on some hedge trimming, tree stump removals, and lacing up an Orchid Tree. Not only was the quote straight forward and priced fairly, but the work crew showed up on-time and quickly went to work. A couple hours later, the work product was awesome and spoke for itself. Frank Gaspar and his team did a fantastic job removing a monstrous Italian cypress right against the house in a tight and narrow area without damaging the roof or the neighbor's house. I hired Freddie's for a chipping and stump grinding project. I provided my project's Zip code with the Yelp request. After texting them additional requested photos of the project to the provided mobile phone number, they provided a bid of $450 and we agreed upon a date and time. That's when the squeeze began. They texted me back, and increased their bid by $200! Now they want $650 for the same project, but of course can come out right away. That's a ridiculous 44% increase! Needless to say this company was fired from my project for their sleazy bait and switch tactics. read more

Called on Sunday to schedule an estimate with Freddie and other tree removal companies for Monday morning. Freddie was very personable and answered all my questions, both in-person and on the telephone. We had two, 80-100 ft tall pine trees that were leaning toward the house and were buckling the retaining walls. We wanted these removed as soon as possible due to the risk of them falling onto the house and into the road. Freddie was very responsive to texts and emails regarding the cost estimate, scheduling, safety and training of his team. His estimate was competitive and he was able to assemble his well-trained team to tackle this job as readily as Wed, which he then changed to Tues. afternoon. We were thrilled because other tree removers could not schedule us for over 2 weeks. Initially, I was concerned about the safety of the tree removers because we weren't sure if their equipment could reach the tree located further from the street. Freddie reassured me that his guys do this work all the time and know what they're doing. I took video of them working on both trees simultaneously and was in awe at how well and how quickly they worked together. And they did it without any injuries and without damaging any property! They were unbelievable! The coordination and communication needed to remove such tall and complex trees while working in a narrow space and taking care not to let the swinging branches hit anyone or anything is difficult. Gaspar coordinated the guys on the day where both trees were removed down to 5 ft or so from the ground. That was a lot of hard work by these 6 guys to do in a single day in the hot sun and high temperatures. They also very efficiently took care of putting the branches through the wood chipper and loading sections of the trunk into another vehicle for removal. There was minimal disruption in the neighborhood and they had safety cones around their equipment and the stacked tree branches in front of the house. They did an awesome job and would highly recommend them for future tree work! read more

I requested a quote through Yelp and Fred responded quickly and came the next day to evaluate and write an estimate. I had them come to prune three trees - cassia, crepe myrtle and a jacaranda. They pruned the cassia and crepe myrtle fine with and extendable pruner. I was happy with their work on those two trees. However, the jacaranda was a different story. They had a guy climb the tree with shoe spikes which damaged the trunk with many holes and a large gash when his spike slipped on the trunk. While watching them cut, I did not realize using spikes on a tree should only be used for tree removal. I'm disappointed that I paid money to maintain my tree only to have it hurt in the process. read more

I called and set an appointment with the owner for 11:30am today...rushed and left work early so I could meet his crew at 11:30am and put my dog inside. They didn't arrive to my house until 12:25pm. They sat in their trucks, so I texted the owner asking why they are sitting in their trucks and he informed me that they are now taking their lunch break and will start the job when they are done. Freddie's Tree Service removed 3 trees for me (Agonis flexuosa and California Pepper), the roots of which were causing damage to my irrigation system and causing cracks in the concrete driveway. One tree in particular had grown far too large and I was concerned about it damaging the foundation to the house. I live in a residential area with neighbors close by and they were careful to rope the branches to avoid damaging anything, including adjacent shrubs. Was very impressed at how well the stump and large roots were ground down. They cleared up really well, including the small branches, sawdust, leaves, and wood-chips.
